Sandy-- Congrats on your 1 lb drop this week; a pound lost is another pound closer to victory! Ugh, AF is pretty much the bane of my weight-loss existence. tab-- Whoa! I'm glad to hear that the left hand thing worked for you. I will HAVE to try that at my cousin's wedding next month-- I'm expected to make my famous and fattening spinach artichoke dip for the masses, and I don't want to burst out of the cute dress I'm hoping to buy. I'm so proud of y'all; you are amazing ladies with such dedication to losing weight that it inspires me every day. I haven't weighed-in lately because I know I'll be up due to my brief foray into fattiness, but I have been super good with my workouts, calories, and generally healthy eating. Hopefully, I'll drop a pound this week! |
I'm bad about hoping on the scale after a fattie day. I always beat myself up for it in the end, but that never stops me. Ugh.
MMMM Spinach artichoke dip! Sounds like heaven! :drool: I hit the gym pretty hard today. Mostly cardio and then weights too. If I'm too sore I'll just do Cardio tomorrow. I think I've been tearing my body up doing weights on the same muscle groups everyday. Ooops. So I'll most likely do only cardio tomorrow. I'm also thinking of doing 2 a days. Gym around 6am, work till 5. Then 6pm gym. And the days that I have to do close shifts, which are 1-9 Only do morning workouts, for a longer time, and maybe do a class as well. I don't know. Lindsy, OMG! :cp: That is a hugh inch loss!!! I am so happy for you. Those workouts are really paying off. And I am a big Biggest Loser fan. My mom, sister and I get together every Tuesday to watch it. We pick our favorite teams (mine have won 3 years in a row...lol) to make it even more interesting.
Tab, I have to remember to try that left-handed eating thing. You're results with it are very intriguing. Slammer, I hope you have a nice weight loss when you do weigh in this week. Good for you for doing so well with your eating and exercise. :D Another way that I can tell that I'm losing inches along with my slow weight loss is that my tops have all gotten considerably longer, especially my black workout top I started off wearing for my walking workouts back on July 25th. Back then the bottom of it hit at just below my navel. Now it hits about 8 inches below that. Yippy for NSVs!!! :carrot: |

Lindsy-- I've also been toying with the idea of 2-a-days, especially on days that I have 8 o'clock classes... I've been considering just hitting the gym after class, then again at 7 or so. Good luck to you-- it looks like your workouts are delightfully intense, and they're paying off!

Sorry I've been absent-- got a research paper and a French mid-term to study for, so I've been quite busy.... but on plan! I still haven't weighed; I guess I'm a little bit scared of being disappointed in myself. Today, I'm doing low-carb, high-protein to give my body a kick-start. I generally do high-protein, moderate carb, but I thought it would be good to mix up my routine a little bit. Keep up the good work, everybody! |

Slammer, that's exactly what I do to kick start my weight loss. Nothing beats high protein, low carb for getting the weight off fast. That's why I've cut out bread and reduced my 3 servings of fruit down to 1 fruit this week. I so desperately want to see onederland. And I know what you mean about being disappointed by the scale. I used to be a daily weigher, but I let that thing set my mood for the day, and I hated that. Even weighing in weekly is tough. I can't wait to see what your loss will be once you do weigh in. Ladygirl, welcome, welcome! You have plenty of time to lose 10 pounds by Halloween. Go for it!! Last night I went to The Olive Garden to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. I was very good and only had the steak, steamed broccoli and their famous salad. And I only drank water. I was completely satisfied and not the least bit tempted by anyone's desserts. Yay me! :D Well, in just a couple more days I will be weighing in and taking more pictures for my blog. I'm excited for it, as I can see some big changes already from last month. Good Job of getting a great workout in Sandy! Slammer- It's hard to find the motivation of getting up at 5 am to be at the gym. I'v been slacking on my 2 a days. lol Hopefully you are better at it then me! The other day I got up at 5, got to the gym around 6am, and they were closed! I guess all the electricity on the block got messed up or something, so I decided to park at my moms house, and jog around her neighborhood. She lives 2 streets from a mountain, so snakes,coyote, scorpions are always around (AWESOME!.. not). I was jogging by the mountain, and with my luck a coyote comes off the mountain and snarls at me! I nearly had a heart attack. So I slowly backed off, and sprinted home. EEEK! At the gym I have been doing a ton of cardio. Elliptical for 30 min, then I use their spin bikes. I LOVE SPIN! I can hit 5 miles on a bike in under 15 min. I made a small goal to be able to do 5 miles in less than 14:30. Hopefully I get there without a heart attack! hehe Oh yeah, still at 170. :l Its Like my body doesnt wanna leave it! I hit 169 and 168 but the next dat 171! I don't get it! Auntflo is gonna be here in a few days so after that hopefully it will go down!!! Hope you all stay OP and have a great day! |

Sandy, I just checked out your blog. How exciting! I can't wait to see your progress. I really wished I had taken pictures before I started, and along the way. I'm totally inspired by you to do a few other things for my health and general babeliciousness: promise myself to try to take my multi-vitamin EVERY day, and scrub my makeup off my face before I head to bead at night (I am the worst at this. My skin looks so much better when I clean it before I go to sleep, and my pillow also gets less make-up-y). We'll see what else I can do, if I can manage these two. Your blog was really the boost I needed to stay focused today, so thanks! Lindsy, that's great about your inches lost. Woooo! Slammer, I'm in the same boat as you, currently afraid of weighing in. For me it's because of my recent bouts with plateau-ing, but mostly it's knowing that I haven't been as diligent with my plan. I don't want to disappoint myself either. I was supposed to weigh in on Wednesday morning, and here I am, still avoiding it. I promise you and everyone in this challenge that I'll weigh in tomorrow morning. Whether up or down, at least I'll know. Better to know I'm up and work on it, than be in denial any longer. |

Tab - Thank you! It was over a 5 month span but I'm not complaining! I thought I would share my breakfast with you all! :) 2 egg white omelet with spinach, a teaspoon of low fat feta cheese, and tomato on top. And one slice of whole wheat bread! om nom nom! Total calories... 163. Boo ya! haha |

Ok, this is the first time I have ever done anything like this, so I a "newbie" to blogs....I know I am late, but would like to start the Halloween Challenge as well. I want to lose 15 -20 pounds before halloween.
I tried to get the cute little tickers, but it told me I have to be member for so many days before I can use it, is that correct??? Anyway, I have approximately 100 pounds to lose!!!!! So i am doing something new with blogging to help motivate me and keep me focused! |

Copy your personal URL for your ticker once it's done and see if you can paste it on your signature page here. If that doesn't work, than maybe you will have to wait. But it won't be long. You can still update your weight on your profile page until then. Lindsy, OMG! I am seriously drooling over that breakfast picture you posted. That looks soooo yummy. Now I'm really hungry and I still have to wait 30 minutes for dinner. lol Tab, thank you for checking out my blog! It's still a work in progress since I'm so new to it. I need to add a few things to my home page. I really should devote next week to getting it done. I'm glad it inspired you. I used to be one of those people who used to never remove her makeup before bed, and I didn't have any sort of regular skincare routine. I just sort of forced myself to do it and now it's a habit. It has made such a big difference in softening the few wrinkles I have. What helped me at get used to doing it is washing my face for the night early in the evening, not before bed when I'd be too tired. I would set an alarm for 7:30 p.m. to remember. lol But it worked! Okay, off to make dinner now because Lindsy got me too hungry. :D |

I will need to be committed and strong today since I'm going to a music fest, surrounded by food venders. At least I'll be walking all day, and can leave to bike home for a healthy dinner and return. Sandy, great advice for washing your face earlier. I think that's my problem--right before bed I'm too tired. |

tab- WOO WOO! That music fest should be a whole lot of fun! Wear a pedometer, that way you can see how much you actually walk! This morning, I really didnt feel like driving to the gym. Its right by my work, and I feel like its a waste of gas most days. Drive to the gym, home, get ready for work, go to work. Ugh, too much driving. So I'm gonna do some yoga right now, just to get my head on. Still at 170. Grrrrr :( |
