I have been feeling a bit under the weather this week and a bit down as a result. My weight loss has been steady but as my Fiticracy friends know I've been really pushing myself the last few weeks and have seen my activity level greatly improve as well as my strength. Finally, this morning, I've noticed the difference!
Keeping up with everyone's NSV's this week, I had a fun 'pants on the ground' moment this morning. I went through every pair of jeans I own to dress for casual Friday and they are all at least 2 sizes too big. I've bought only 2 pairs of pants recently, but no jeans since April. When I started this journey back in February I was wearing snug 18W. This week my best fitting pants are my size 12 khaki's. The lbs. may not be falling off but the inches certainly are.
I decided to wear the smallest pair of jeans I own with a belt on the 5th notch so all day I can be reminded that my once super tight pants are now falling off.
And Jeanettey- You better believe I'll be completing that KP challenge this afternoon!
Today I decided to jog over to the local park and try out the trails. I am glad I went, because not I know that I will never jog them again, I may hike them with my kids. They are crazy steep, washed out, not marked very well, and the bugs were horid. I ended up off the trail and getting poked in the nose with a jagger! I had to laugh, it was 7:15 in the morning, I was swatting bugs like a crazy person and blood was dripping off my nose. I did enjoy being in the woods though, and even though it took me longer than I wanted I did get my 4 miles in.
envelope - I hear you! I live on an acreage and while we have tons of space and miles and miles of road they are mostly steep, washed out, unmaintained and the bugs are crazy! I <3 my treadmill. I want to run outside and will try in fall but I won't beat myself up on it. The treadmill works and I can set a fan up.
Really great news being posted platoon. Love it when we have "pants on the ground" moments!
Sarge left it all on the treadmill this morning trying to break 8min mile for Fitocracy points... unfortunately, not today... 8:23 ... WAY BETTER than 19:20 on 1/1/11!!!!!
Have a great day all!!!! Back on Sunday for weigh-in!
Well done KittyKat for 30 lbs lost! I bet that feels amazing =D.
Amazing news Kelley! I've been seeing all your updates on Fitocracy and you're pushing it to the limit, girl! Well done you, bet you loved all those loosey goose pants!
Thanks for the support for my 5 mile run tomorrow guys, I'm just gonna think of those Fitocracy points and how I want to catch up with Sarge ;p. I'm on a mission!!
@peanutt - I think I am still in shock! :-) I never thought I can do it. I just figured I try and see how far I get. Ha!!! Today wasn't even hard.
How are you doing btw? Is everything healing ok?
SMSDREAMER2007: I really wish my sister would jump in on the weight loss with me. She bikes 6 miles a day (going to and from work) which is something... but that's it. She isn't grossly over weight but she's depressed about it and could stand to lose some. I tried introducing her to fitday (which she loved at first), I bought her a pocket book to keep track of meals, and I always ask if she wants to work out with me. She never does and gives up on watching meals so fast. Often going with 500 calorie drinks, or just getting a dessert because she feels that way. I don't push... but... I just wish she would start. ><
That's a HUGE library. The Denver Library (the big Central one) is only 5 stories high. I get a little excited going in it still... I love books. ><
KittyKat: Congrats on 30lb loss! I can't wait until I get there. ><
K3LL3Y: Congrats on the inches and you were the Leader of the Fitocracy board for a loooooOooong time. =)
Josey: I think I'm going to start C25K... running scares me. >< So I want to start the C25K. It's going to start on Sunday me thinks... I just have to tell myself people won't judge me for walking then jogging, then walking... ><
So... I picked up my dog the other day to put him on the Vets scale. He is HEAVY to lift. He weighs a little over 50lbs. I want to lose 45 lbs... but I would LOVE to lose 50lbs. I kept thinking... my god, I plan on losing my DOG. He's heavy... and that's what I want to lose. O.O
I plan on doing the Shred in about 2 minutes... then KP duty... then cleaning up my house. >< Then... kick boxing 1 hour. I really need to see me go up that Leader board. =o Then... walking the dog. ><
Then... reading my library book so I can turn it in. O.O
