GOOD NIGHT LADIES & GENT
Just a quick fly by as I head off to bed, long, long day . . . spent ALL MORNING at the doctors office, finished there, took my roomie home, got him settled on the couch with EXTRA LARGE bottle of gatorade, then called the pharmacy to find out what time med would be ready . . . went & pick those up, fed drugs to roomie, pack lunch and went to work . . . Tonight I worked in an area where I don't have to do toooo much about 1 1/2 hours of work in and 8 hour day (I know it sounds grand, but you're basically by yourself, so it get boring really quickly) so I went out to the the walking trail and walked about 40-45 minutes . . . maybe that's a good thing, a REALLY easy workout after the workouts from this weekend . . . so I'll be hitting it hard tomorrow . . . OK off to bed, I'm bushed . . . :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: FOR ANYONE & EVERYONE WHO NEEDS A LITTLE SUNSHINE IN THEIR LIFE . . |
Morning Time again Platoon.
How are you going to make your day a great one? Thankfully my cold seems to be on the way out. Yay. I'll be doing some workout DVDs here at home after work. Tracking my food of course. Have a good day troop. |
Murple--You are right, this weight loss journey is a lifestyle change and it really helps when those around you are on board as well. While on Spring Break last week I mentioned to my husband that we were witnessing a true first...my whole family (including 2 college age kids) was up before 8am and either in the gym or out on a run. Just take it one day at a time, it will all come together for you!
Reso -- Oh you silly, silly man! In no way do I take offense or put off by anything posted on these threads. In a way, I find your occasional "emo" episodes kind of interesting. It just goes to show that this issue of weight and health and all the intense emotions that come with it are shared with equal intensity by both genders. To get on my really good side tho, you'll have to cheer my Chicago Blackhawks into the playoffs for the next two weeks! BTW, don't overdo the exercise after the kind of weekend you had. Any extra pounds you want to lose can wait another week or so! Lucy--I'll take the walk/hike as exercise, but you better be pounding on the gym door and make them let you in first thing today! VickieL-- If you read thru some of the previous posts you'll see some of us has a rough week as well including Sarge who went off the reservation big time on Spring Break! So, kick your own a** and make it happen this week. MadameB--Rough few days for you too! All that stress sounds like a big old vat of buttery goo just waiting to slather itself all over you again, but I know you won't let that happen. Try to find a few minutes for yourself and chill if you can. Cheshire--Could you come to Chicago and run a 10K for me this Sunday? Running is SO good for weight loss, yet when I said I HATE it, I really kind of meant it. My son talked me into this race and I'm nervous about it because there is a "strictly enforced" 14 min per mile sag van clearing people off the course. I've never DNF'd and I'm worried about this one. Any head advice? Also keep in mind I haven't ran a road race since 1986 (B.C.)...(Before Chidren)! Ok troops, moving my butt-er butt to the gym right after I post an updated pledge board. Have a great day all! :drill: Sarge |

Good morning everyone, local dead beat here. :p Should be at work right now , having a hard time coping with doing nothing.
Will maybe try for 2 5K walks today plus maybe go out for coffee with my mom and see about making some time to visit my grandma. Not much else i can think to do, stroll around the mall maybe if i get to bored (keeps me from nickle and diming myself to death with calories) JayTee : Yeah, i know i'm emo, i've always been more emotional, usually i have the strength to suppress it but lately stress/life/weight loss/ hospital etc... is really battering down my blinders. Truthfully i hate having to contain myself (mentally) and the fact my emotions are so volatile. (highs and lows) I'm glad no one seems to take offence, trust me i am sincere. Ugh ! Blackhawks :p Always beating Vancouver. Sorry i'm a nice guy but you ask to much. :D Chesire : You are so close to your goal now, less than 10 pounds, i would be giddy, time to shift into overdrive for a final push then you can cruise control through summer looking your best. :) MadameButterfly : Your roomie is very lucky, as bad as it is was to be in the hospital it was kind of nice to have people show care for me, i have a greater appreciation for others because of it. What i would of done without these strangers and there compassion / help i don't know. (probably be dead) :( VickieLou : I agree with JayTee, nothing we can do about weeks past, just have to buckle down and stay the course, for every bad week we have we need a couple good ones, it's not that big a sacrifice. :) |
This is kind of nuts, i planted this bulb a week or 10 days ago, it was about a half inch high, maybe just a centimeter, at the time, i've never seen a plant grow this fast before, it even seems to be forming buds already, the other 3 i planted have barely done a thing.
It kind of inspires me, so full of life it's busting at the seams. Going to flower soon at this rate, before it even makes it outside. : nuts : http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6145/1000603e.jpg |
Wow! What is that, Resolute? I tried squinting to read your label in the pic, but apparently I need more carrots!
I wanted to share a new food discovery with everyone. Well, it's fairly new to me, but many of you have probably already tried it. On a whim I picked up a container of baba ghanouj (roasted eggplant dip/spread) at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago. What an awesome find! I've been eating it spread on light rye wasa crispbreads for a delicious, garlicy, filling snack. With the items I have it's 120 calories for 4 wasa crispbreads with baba ghanouj. DH has a friend who is getting his mother's authentic middle eastern recipe so we can try making it ourselves. |
OMG IT'S TUESDAY ALREADY . . .
OK, I did JM's 30 Day Shred & 400 crunches . . . so far . . . not very motivated today, I guess being nurse maid for the weekend took it's toll . . . UGH!! BUT I REALLY NEED TO GET MOTIVATED SO I CAN JOIN THE RANKS OF THE 150's . . . <sigh> I CAN DO IT . . . Resolute, what kind of bulb is it?? it has very fun foilage . . . but I don't recognize it. I started my peppers a few weeks ago and they are now about 2" tall, the tomatoes & corn just popped their heads out of the dirt over the past few days . . . It will be awhile before they go outside though (high 36 yesterday) As far as taking care of the roomie: (caution TMI to follow) He needed to collect a stool specimen so I got everything set up and this morning he wakes me up with poop in hand and asks what he should do with it . . . LOLOLOL, it's all I could do to not laugh at him. You know he trusts you when he comes in your bedroom with a container of his poop for you to scoop, men are sooooo funny (I told you it was TMI) Lucy: I did a walk yesterday, it's all I had time for and then I actually did it while I was working . . . but I'm back at it hard today Cheshire: Glad your cold is on it's way out . . . I am so jealous of all you runners . . . but planning to start C25K VERY soon, actually I am hoping this weekend . . . will check 10 day forcast soon . . . SARGE JAYTEE: GOOD LUCK ON YOUR RUN THIS WEEKEND . . . JUST PRETEND THAT SAG VAN IS THE APACHE HELICOPTER WITH ME & RAINBOW DRIVING, THAT SHOULD GET YOU MOVIN' . . . . LOLOLOLOL Rainbow: You are an amazing, rockin', BUTT-ER MELTIN' WOMAN . . . you inspire me EVERYDAY!!! THANK YOU !!! VickieLou: How did it go with your trainer???? Peanut: did the weather get any better???? I was feeling sorry for myself until I read how cold it still is where you are . . . :brr: I hate the cold this time of year, I just want warm sunny skies with little or no breeze . . . SPRING WILL COME . . . Murple: Just hang in there, change come slowly and surely . . . but it will come before you know it. OK, off to work I go . . . well in a few hours . . . I can't wait for another day off . . . LOLOLOLOL. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE |
Madam Goo...the weather is showing signs of maybe improving, but it's still below freezing this morning and there's no sun in sight again. They keep pushing the nice weather further and further back in the forecast. Harumph.

It's called a Lilium, Asiatic dark red on the package, came from holland also on the package.
I posted a picture a while back. here it is again, plus the other 2 bulbs i have going that are hardly doing anything in comparison. Some of my seedlings didn't come up though, must of been dud seeds, was a nice climbing vine (Cypress vine) with pretty white flowers, little dissapointed there, Still early so i'll try again but i doubt it as i had a couple of containers with several seeds in each. I'll post an earlier picture of them again as well. Everything else i have started is up right now, have to wait for may long weekend to put the garden goods in though, potatoes , corn , tomatoes, beans, pumkin, cucumber, beets, carrots. Might be everything, i don't need a lot but it's fun and nice to care for something and watch it grow. MadamButterfly : Don't worry about TMI, i wrote the book. :dizzy: http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/2892/1000472l.jpg http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/5519/1000466v.jpg |
Ok...so I'm gonna make it thru that 10K with the following image in mind...Apache Helicopter chasing me with GooMaster & Surrogate Sarge at the controls with that big spiked ball coated in stool specimen swinging, trying to knock me out! Yup! That'll do it! Should keep me one step ahead of the sag van. Thanks! :)

Reporting in yalls.... I feel so out of touch here. I dont get as much time to be here and chat as before :/
I think my scale is wonky or I was retaining water or something. For comedic value I stepped on the scale again this AM and it was down to 290.0 which is technically 1 lb down from last week. Go figure. I even stepped on it 5 times and got the same number EVERY TIME. Maybe time for a new scale? Planning on getting to 288 this week, I want that 2 lbs to come off EVERY week. I havnt kept up with journaling at all this month :\ I use my blog to journal. so I dont know what my calories have been, I am assuming high . Ah well 3 mile walk/run here I come. LETS DO THIS!!!! |
