Hey guys! Sorry about forgetting to post on here yesterday.
Anyways, I got a new scale last night, because my old one was on the fritz and inconsistent. (I've been needing to do this for quite some time!) I've already made a post about it in comparison to my old one, so I hope you guys don't mind if I just quote the relevant bit of that here instead of retyping it all:
Quote:
Well, today was the first weigh-in with my new scale. I stepped on it several times for confirmation, and it was much more consistent than my old one. It weighed me in right at 244.0. I compared to my old scale to see how different they were, and it read 245.4, so today will be my official transition post. I ended up actually being 244.0 (woo!), but there was only a -0.8 loss since yesterday. I will be reflecting the accurate weight in my long haul ticker, but my lbs lost for March will stay consistent with my actual loss from the beginning, and then April will be a fresh start for everything.
So, I'm a tiny bit lower in weight than I thought, but I'm still measuring for my March goal as actual pounds lost. So, that means I still have 5.4 lbs to go to reach my goal for this month, because I'm not counting the base weight difference towards any loss. Hope that makes sense! Just wanted to make sure to give that update.

Carved - Congrats on hitting 20 lbs lost!
Takingcontrol - Wow, look at you...you're doing awesome staying on plan like that! Also, how have you been liking the C25k so far?
MsP - Great job staying on plan, too! You guys are doing great.
OklahomaChick - Almost halfway there, you can do it!
BBWDIVA - Welcome to the thread!

MsP: I'm so proud of you--spread some of that go go juice over this-a-way! I tracked my food today for the first time in forever. I seem to start it and then blow it off halfway through the day, but I desperately need to get back to it for the accountability.
I had a pretty irresponsible Mardi Gras weekend and paid for it on the scales today--151.6 yikes. That's up 1.2 from the 1st, so it's time to get my rear in gear and get my weight down before the next big weekend that's coming up very soon! What happened to my motivation to exercise for two hours to make up for the parties? I'm hoping that as it warms up and it's time to start shedding some clothes, my inspiration will return and I'll be ready to take off the winter fat!
It's exciting and inspiring to see so many great losses right out of the gates here--keep up the good work, chicklets, you're doing so great!
Horrible weigh-in. Went back up +1.4 to 245.4...think I may be mistaken about being able to handle the 1400 calories and still lose. Last night was my first workout since adjusting my calories a few days ago, though, so maybe I'm just retaining some fluids from that. I hope so. Completely deflated this morning, but will keep on track today and see what happens tomorrow. I started this month out with a bang, but it's pretty much slowed to the pace of cold molasses since. I'm not overeating, I'm drinking my water...maybe I just need to escalate my exercise to the next level? Will use today for pondering. Hope everyone else is having a good day today!
Thanks for the encouraging words, ladies! Today marks my 7th day tracking and I was rewarded with a 3 lb loss last night at WW. I'm using Mondays as my weigh in day for here since its my WW weigh in day too.
I feel very encouraged in general, but today I'm feeling hungrier than normal...maybe it's cycle related since there's no reason for it otherwise. So it's my first test...can I be self-controlled during ALL stages of my cycle? The week or so before TOM is when I get super munchy and feel like I'm being starved when I stick OP, but that shouldn't be until next week. Oh well. One day at a time and be thankful for the losses.
LouisaH-Here you go.. Hope it helps! Now that Mardi Gras festivities are done, you can resume healthy eating and good choices. And if you don't it's for you!!
Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted in several days... I always think to come on my official weigh-in days, but that's just once per week and I really need to get to this thread more often. It seems like lots of you have had a ton of progress - awesome!!
Ophelia - you were 247.6 on 3/4, and today you are 245.4 - that's a big difference in 4 days, even if you take the 0.4 lb difference between your scales into account! I know it's frustrating seeing the up and down, but don't feel deflated - the weight IS coming off, even if the number looks different each day. On the shoes front: I plan to go to a running store nearby and have them size me. I know the shoes will be a big expense, but I'd rather that than an injury with my current shoes (which should have been replaced a while back). My biggest hurdle, I think, is figuring out the sports bra thing.
carved - congratulations on 20 lbs lost! That's a big milestone!
takingcontrol - that's a fantastic loss! You're motivating me to get started on the C25K ASAP
okhlahoma - amazing, congratulations on the 4 lbs down!
Ms. P - I'm so excited for you!! You're doing amazing at staying on plan, and you are going to blow your goal away this month. I bet you'll be the first of us to reach goal for March - I am pulling for you!
Louisa - hang tight, the motivation will be back in no time... and in the meantime you could just pretend you're feeling motivated
slimlizzie - stick with it, you'll see the drop soon
I'll do my official weigh-in tomorrow morning, but I don't expect much change on the scale from today or the weekend. I've been stuck right around 250 for the past three days despite being on plan... TOM is arriving and I'm feeling bloated, and I'm sure that's the reason. At least I have a drop to look forward to when TOM moves out!
Hey chicklets, I'm up 1.4 pounds from yesterday, which doesn't make sense. I wasn't exactly angelic yesterday, but all in all it was a good day, so I'm attributing it to the fact that I lifted some weights for a change and sometimes that makes me retain water. Either way, I am going to be better today, with the help of some of that Will Power Dust!
Thanks MsP, and super duper congrats on 7 days of tracking and being on plan. Three pounds is certainly a good motivator to stick with it!
Thanks Chickadee--ain't that the truth, mind over matter is EVERYTHING, in every aspect of life, really.
Shari, good luck with the job interview.
Sorry I don't have more time for personals--keep up the healthy eating everyone! We've got some fresh local spinach and lettuce coming in from a farm today, so I'm lucky!
I'm back down a tiny bit (-0.4) to an even 245.0, but still trying to get back to where I was the other day. Staying steady with the 1400 calorie experiment until I can get a better feel of how upping the calories will effect me overall. Also did a workout with a bit more focus on aerobics last night, so I may do that again tonight just to try sweating it out a bit.
Slimlizzie - I feel your pain, but keep at it and you will start dropping again!
Chickadee - Thank you. I'm still trying to learn how to gracefully accept fluctuations up and down, especially during times of experimentation. And, I think I'm going to do the same with getting some shoes. I found an actual running store in Oklahoma City that does proper fittings, so I will probably make a trek there sometime over the next weekend or two. It's about a 1.5 to 2 hr drive, but I think it will be worth it to get an accurate, safe fit and a decent shoe. The only nearby places for shoes are basic shops like Foot Locker and a sporting goods store that only has a small slat wall section of shoes available...not very nice at all, lol. Let me know how it goes for you when you get fitted, and good luck with finding a good sports bra, as well!
JasonsLea - Congrats on the loss, and !
LouisaH - Any time I do any exercise that is related to strength training, I always see a small jump the next morning, so I have no doubts that it's just fluid retention in your muscles. Either way, here is a little more dust for you today!
Bunneh - Congrats on already getting to the 165 successfully, and good luck with the updated goal!
chickadee You really should give it a go, I can't believe how much I'm enjoying it, and how now I'm looking forward to a future as a runner, I NEVER thought that would happen!
Well done to everyone seeing loses, and chin up to those whose scales are being stubborn.
I saw 86kg when I checked out the scales today (naughty!) But not recording anything until Sunday, but that's given me so much motivation to go for it over the next two days now!
