fcmonroe. Glad to see you are back.

Eliana-

I have to miss my regular Y class tonight to meet with my friends so I am not sure what I will do. Also, I have eaten at a restaurant for 5 days in a row and tonight I am going again. No wonder my weight loss is stalled.

I lost 2.6# this week! But I really don't know why because I was not real careful about food last week. My body is so weird.

Yesterday I didn't feel well. I was really really really tired. I felt drugged. It was like I ate the poison apple in Snow White. I left work and took a 2 hour nap, went back to work for a bit, then came home and took a 4 hour nap. And I was still in bed at a normal time and slept for 9 hours. I feel completely fine today. It was strange.

Honey, I'm hoooome!

Yeah, I'm officially back in my own house after being gone a whole week! Feels great to be back home, as much fun as I had with all my family nonsense. Tomrrow, I face my own scale. I didn't weigh all week except for yesterday and the day before, because I just happened to be in the same room as a scale... But I didn't much listen to what it said, because it wasn't *my* scale! You know what I mean? But I think I may have actually done alright enough to maybe have really managed to maintain 238 all week! That's all I'm really hoping for. We'll see how it goes! I still may not bother to move my ticker until next Wednesday though, when I've had some time to deal with any potential fluctuation. Who knows!

The last two days were actually fantastic for exercise, believe it or not! We stayed a couple nights in Oregon at my mom's cousin's house... HUGE piece of land, absolutely gorgeous. So on Monday we ran for C25K, went swimming for a while, and rode horses. Tuesday we rode horses again. Can you say sore legs!? It was tons of fun though!

The wedding we went on the trip for to Washington to begin with was beautiful. I cried like a baby through the ceremony, then had fun being goofy through the reception. And I got to be all cute in my dress I'd managed to find! That never sucks!

I'll stop rambling now. The point was to let you all know that I'm back!

Rochester-Congrats on the weight loss! 2.6 pounds gone is awesome. I hope you are feeling better.

ninepaw-Welcome back. We missed you. Sounds like a fun and active vacation.

I am pretty much on plan these days even with all my eating out. Slow but sure I guess.

So today I faced my scale... I hopped on there, hoping to see 238, because that's what I decided to try and maintain even though the last time I weighed myself before leaving I was 237... And when the number popped up on my scale it was........... 237! How awesome is that?? Very, in my opinion! I feel great that I can have that be the number I come home to, and i just get to jump right back into the middle of this. I feel so good! Soon enough, I'll be at the 30 pounds lost mark(1 pound away!) and my next mini goal(2 pounds away)! And I'm 8 pounds away from the goal I set myself for this challenge! Sweet!

Terapet - Slow and steady wins the race... Or perhaps the challenge?

Diana-Oh, what a wonderful feeling. I am very happy for you too. You successfully made it through vacation even without the daily weighing! You are awesome.

Today I was down to 154.5! I may have a problem soon. I am approaching size 10! I have a fair amount of clothing in sizes 16, 14, and 12 but I only have one pair of size 10 jeans. I used to have size 18 also but I actually gave those away because I just had too much stuff. This summer I have mostly been wearing clothes I bought 4 years ago when I lost weight through Weight Watchers. I am moving into unchartered territory! It feels weird. I am almost afraid to buy size 10 because what if I just gain it right back again?!

Terapet, you aren't going to gain it right back again - No way! You're going to keep it off and love your size 10 booty FOREVER! But seriously, don't spazz! It's great that you're getting to this new size, because that means that what you're doing now is working out better for you than WW did! At least that's what I think. But what do I know?

As for my scale this morning, it popped down to 236! I mean, barely(It was actually 236.8) but holy crap, that would be putting me at 30 pounds lost!!! I'm hoping it sticks around tomorrow, so I can feel more confident that it isn't just a fluctuation, but yeeeee! I've never ever ever been so awesome as to lose 30 pounds! Heck, I don't remembera time where I was actually trying and lost any more than 17... So this is just HUGELY mind blowing to me! Love it love it LOVE it! And I don't think I would necesarilly be as far as I am without you guys in this thread! Like I've said before, we need to keep this ball rolling after this particular challenge ends... I'm just not willing to give you guys up!!!

Diana-It's great news that 236 made an appearance even if it was brief. Just stick to your plan and 235 will be here before you know it. Thirty pounds lost is a big accomplishment. You are right to be thrilled. I agree with you about my current plan working out better than my past experience with Weight Watchers. I think then I was too goal oriented and when I got there I would lose momentum. Now I am really working on the lifestyle change as well. I really do not want to go back to my old eating habits but it is a struggle anyway.

I am kind of surprised that I am losing weight this week. I ate way too much yesterday to see the scale go down this morning. I actually glimpsed 153.5! I think it might have to do with the treadmilll work this week. They say at the Y that it helps to change up your exercise routine because your body gets used to what you are currently doing. I am such a creature of habit though! This week plans with friends forced me to miss some of my classes so I was left with jogging on the treadmill and the scale is down around 2 pounds even though my calorie intake has been less than perfect this week. Crazy but I am not complaining. Tonight we are having friends for dinner and I am not serving calorie friendly food. Hopefully I can control my portions appropriately otherwise I will just have to make up for it next week.

Ok Ladies, tomorrow is August 1st, so I thought I'd ask you all how you're doing toward your Labor Day goal. The count down is on!!

Quote:
My goal for this challenge is 30 lbs OR a size 10. I drop inches like mad lately but the scale does not budge. This month I dropped a dress size with a one pound loss. So I am SIZE oriented, not pound oriented.

Start date: 5/19/2010
Finish line: 9/1/2010
Start weight: 184.6 size 14
Finish weight:
I am sitting about 14 pounds down. I'm glad to know I will at least knock off more than half of what I wanted to. I'm not at all surprised I will probably not meet the really ambitious goal I had. I was hoping for 10 pounds a month when I had been averaging 4. Since starting this challenge, I have averaged 8 pounds per month, so I have still doubled what I had been doing!

I'm hopeful for another 4-6 pounds by Labor Day which would make for a 18-22 pound loss.

Oh, and I am in the 10's, my "real" goal. They're a tad tight and not all 10's fit, but I have every confidence that I will meet that goal.

How about the rest of you?

Good idea Eliana....and great job on your success!

For me Summer Challenge = Epic Fail. My goal when I signed on May 28 was to lose 29 pounds.

I've lost not quite 7 pounds. BUT I can now RUN 2 1/4 miles with no walk intervals. I've competed in my first 5K. I don't have any clothes that fit. My BMI according to a nifty gadget is 31.7. but according to The Charts, based on my height and weight, it "should be" 36.3. I've stayed on plan with food and haven't binged in six weeks.

And I feel oodles and buckets better than I did 2 months ago.

I feel quite happy with my "failure."

I agree that this is a good idea... And also congrats on your accomplishments! You've been kicking some serious butt.

My goal was to lose 20 pounds and reach 229. Right now, I weigh 236. Only 7 pounds away from that goal as we get into the final month, and I'm feeling pretty confident that I might actually make it there! Maybe even early! Okay, so maybe I shouldn't jinx myself! But in all seriousness, I'm feeling very proud of what I've accomplished at this point! Even if I'm a pound or two off from my goal when we get there, I still know I've done very well! And all of you guys have helped me get here SO much!!!

Wow Ladies. This has been a pretty successful challenge for those of us who have stuck in there. Congrats to everyone!

On May 19th I weighed 169. My goal was to lose 20 pounds. So far I have lost fifteen. I dare to say it is doable but I have not weighed under 155 for a long, long time. If I want to repeat history (again) this is the time to slack off and slowly gain it all back. Right now I am in a battle with myself but I am hoping to emerge victorious!

This morning I am recognizing a NSV I set for myself. I recorded my measurements for the end of the month (you should see my Excel sheet, I track everything!) and I now have a hip measurement that begins with a 3. Yeah! My next goal is to have a waist measurement that begins with a 2. That would be sweet.

Good Morning,

Yeah it is overcast here and for once it is not frightfully hot. I am planning to take advantage of the respite in the weather and take the dogs for a walk. This evening is step class and yoga. I love the yoga. When I get down to a size medium, I am going to reward myself with yoga clothes.

I am feeling hyped about it being a new month and kind of the last chance period for the challenge. It feels good to think about actually meeting a weight loss goal I set for myself. It also feels good to be actually achieving some control over my baaaad eating habits.

It's funny, I've been saving my money on buying real clothes and only splurging on real "needs". But suddenly I am obsessed with workout clothes! They have to fit right! LOL! I know why. They gym is filled with mirrors and you catch yourself at every angle, good, bad and ugly. When I'm sitting on the exercise bike, I am staring at myself and since I sit in the back of class I'm comparing myself to absolutely everyone in front of me. Body + abs class...staring at myself doing arm curls. Free weights on my own? Yep, staring at myself doing squats. Lovely. So when my clothes start to get too big, A) they're hotter, and not in a good way and B) I no longer think I look good which messes with my head.

I was working in an ill fitting sports bra so tight (yet unsupportive) that I actually popped out! Fortunately I was working out at home at the time. Now said bras are way too big! But I caught a glorious glimpse of myself in that mirror the other day on the bike and was horrified at what my breasts were doing! And this guy that talks to me all the time waved to me on the treadmill. At the time I didn't care that the girls were flying left and right but once I saw him...someone I kind of know...a GUY...I was mortified! So now I have sports bras that support, pants that flatter and tight tanks that show off my hour glass figure and help to additionally support the flying twins.
