Staccie- I am so proud of you with your 2 weeks no cheats!! You are amazing. I could never be you. You are super woman. Def in my eyes.
Neesy- I am so glad you are not enlisting. It really is bad news and his few years will feel long enough. You can find home care work in Korea. There are lots of positions like that.
Well I am not over my cals but OMG I am sooo over my sodium intake. I went to a rotating sushi bar and I had 12 pieces of shrimp tempura roll. Oh and a whole bowl of Edamame. I would have eaten 10 more servings but Nikki stopped me via text message. Hahaha. I could seriously eat sushi only for the rest of my life. Mmmmm. BTW Davey had Kobe steak and I had 4 plates of sushi for 24 bucks..... SO CHEAP and good!!!! Sorry... food addiction. BAD!
Hello All! Doing pretty good today, my fiance is sick so I made some mac and cheese for dinner and I had some but still within my calorie limit of the day... even though I like to use my calories on something better than velvetta!
Pushing Daisies: WELCOME! I'm pretty new to this board (a month or so) and everybody is great so just jump in!
Deep Breath: AWESOME! You've got an amazing kick off on your weight loss goals, woohoo!
AJ: I know I was a bit shocked when I saw several guys on this site... but hey, maybe they feel they get better support from this site than any that are directed towards men... are there any directed towards men?
Good Morning!
Down to 236 this morning! Woohoo 4lbs lost this month! Need to kick it up a bit to reach my month goal though... I've been doing AMAZING at calories daily, I've actually had an issue getting to 1200 a day, so I've had to bump up what I eat daily to get to 1200 healthy calories. But I've been only exercising like 3-4x a week once a day... I think if I kick that up 6x a week for 60 minutes I'll be able to hit my goal...
Congrats AJ on making it on to TMZ... usually this isn't reason to celebrate, lol! But in this case it is actually way awesome! Yay!
Well I am feeling more human today - thank goodness. Stuffed up but not weak. I couldn't wait to go to the gym, I woke up an hour before it even opened and it's all I wanted to do. I'm so glad I don't have to force myself anymore!! I'm down a total of 8 pounds since I started 13 days ago (I think it was). Inches are definitely gone as well and I'm trying to focus more on that than anything else. My strength is increasing as well, I did 3 sets of lying leg presses of 110 pounds and did the last rep to exhaustion (made it to 21). And I've gone from chest pressing 40 to 45. My waist is shrinking like mad unfortunately my arse is at the pace of a snail with a hangover lol. So I'm pretty happy about everything.
Thank you AJ, I can't believe it either. No chocolate, no chips, nothing in two solid weeks. The cravings are minimal now, there but not as strong. I've incorporated a starch and fruit back into my diet and feel better (other than the cold). The guilt would probably kill me if I actually indulged in something. I do miss popcorn though, a few more weeks and I can have some when I know I can control it. Right now it's about trying to change my habits, because I don't want to feel deprived forever, especially from my beloved popcorn!!!
Rocky - thanks for that, definitely going to try it!!! And congrats on the loss too, you are doing awesome!!!
And AJ - that is so cute you on TMZ with Davey...I so want to meet you two!!! And your adorable little pooches!
Well I am off to get my hair done...I had to wear a hat yesterday it's so bad. Joys of getting older and having a high stress job I suppose. I'm going to go even a bit lighter, my colorist will probably have a fit but oh well!! I feel lighter with lighter hair (if that makes any sense). Then it's all about laundry, cooking and work this evening. No more big nights out for me until the games get here. I am sure there will be some good nights then as there are tons of police, fire, ambulance and international people "men" around - smiling and licking my lips in anticipation
AJ - I don't get it was it some type of reality show that filmed your wedding? Sometimes stupid people need to take their aggressions out on someone else they can't see or know personally. Has this already been on TV?
It's not really a plan, I guess it's kind of south beach but I don't follow it like I'm supposed to. I basically just cut out bread, pasta, candy, rice, and my carbs consist of oatmeal, special K and veggies. And I'm still under 1500 per day. I found bread and pasta just an easy and lazy filler for things and now that I can't have it, I'm eating a lot more vegetables and stuff - which I needed to do. Tonight I had extra lean ground beef with diced tom, red pepper, green and white onion, some taco seasoning and some salsa. I don't miss the pasta really at all. I might have a potato once in awhile in a few weeks but I'm happy without it. That's all.
HI girls, just a quickie from me before bed. I went to the community center and walked 4 miles tonight. I am already down 2 lbs from what I gained. So hoping the other comes off as fast.
Aj-sorry you are so upset, some ppl are just a**holes.
rocky - congrats on the 4 lbs for this month! that's a stable loss that will stay off.
rayne - walking 4 miles is awesome! and 2 lbs is a great result - you will be back down in no time.
staccie - 8 lbs in 13 days..incredible! wow, i can't wait till i crave exercise again. i've always loved it when i got into the habit.
AJ - i LOVE tmz...haha! cute pic of ya's there.
neesy - hope you get to go with hubby. that would be so exciting to go!
i woke up yesterday in a really bad mood. i didn't want to talk to anyone or do anything. unfortunately, life doesn't work that way. i also blew it yesterday. got a late start and did not have a proper breakfast. after running errands a while, i was starving and ate chick-fil-a before i went into the grocery so i wouldn't buy everything in sight - even though i had a list to stick to. after that, i went to the bar to watch the bengals lose. i had a shot of patron (thank you jillian) and 3 beers. they had food for the game and i ate it without a care in the world for numbers, fat, etc. i guess i needed it cause today my head is much calmer and back on track. i also have to plan my weekend meals, not just for a 5 day work week. that's how i ended up eating out.
i'm going to make that turkey meatloaf today. i really hope it's good, because i don't have a back-up for food this week unless i count micro-meals which really aren't the best.
hope everyone else is doing better than i did yesterday. bright side: the temp is rising and we'll be above freezing in a few days!
Rayne, good for the 5 miles and down a few pounds...onederland here you come!
Kelly - I plan my meals on the weekend too for that very reason, I used to do good all week and then backtrack on the weekends but just do that going forward! Maybe your bad mood had something to do with it too!!
Well I had a kick *** workout this morning, sauna, hottub and a nice relaxing shower. In about 45 min I'm locked into work until I get my list to a mangeable state. I just love doing weights. I break up the cardio in two 20 min sessions, one at the start and one at the end as I don't enjoy doing cardio. I was a sweaty mess but I love it!!!
I got my food all cooked and ready to go until at least Wednesday and all my new protein shake powder is here...so good!!! That is going to save my arse during the games when I know damn well it's going to be tough to eat.
Well I have to eat lunch before I dive into my work. I am listening to rap music to get myself motivated.
Yeah another challenge sounds good! Especially one that doesn't go over the xmas season where cookies, drinks and the like attack our bodies like leeches in a lake!!!
Ladies, I won't be able to check in too much this week, I'm not at a computer much but I will do my best via BB - it's important to me and I NEED to make time for it!! At the very least it will be first thing in the am or last thing before bed.
AJ do you have a BB?
I napped for three hours this afternoon...oops!!! Guess I needed it though. Now I'm headfirst into work but wanted to check in to see updates regarding weigh in's - but looks like everyone is otherwise pre-occupied. I'm jealous lol
Say a prayer for my 14 hour workdays this week! 24 hours in a day, I workout 2 (generally), need time to eat/get ready/travel 4 (generally as I often eat and do other things at the same time), and 8 hours of sleep. Umm I'm short some hours...if only I could figure out how to use my laptop when I do cardio
"Just another Manic Monday... wish it was Sunday, cause that's my fun day..."
How is it already Monday? This weekend FLEW by! Doing okay, but have stayed at the same weight for three days now, so that stinks but I've been hitting my calorie consumed and calories burned targets, so hopefully it will start dropping again ASAP!
Good luck Staccie with your crazy work schedule, whew! It sounds exhausting! Lots of protein should help and it sounds like that is what your eating plan focuses on too, so hopefully that should keep you perky and able to push on through the week!
Just a quick check in, time for work...
Still at 236
Morning, girls! Ok, I suck - apparently I can't manage prepping for moving into the new house and my new job AND stay on top of this forum. I hope you can forgive me - I think about you guys all the time but am just a bit swamped lately. And we go on vacation all next week.
Staccie - **kneeling at your feet** your discipline is amazing! So excited for your success! You are killing it!
rocky - you are doing great! I hear ya on the manic monday thing. The other song I think of sometimes on monday is the 'I don't wanna work, I just wanna bang on the drum all day'
aj - glad yesterday was better and hope it carries through the whole week!
After lots of snow and super cold weather, it was finally warm enough yesterday for me to get in a run and I was thrilled. I'm planning on running Tuesday, Thursday and Friday as well and then we leave Friday night for Costa Rica. I'm bringing my running shoes and planning to run on the beach on the days we don't have long hikes.
Can't remember if this is our official challenge weigh-in day but I'm looking forward to sending a giftcard to the winner! I'm still (embarrassingly) holding steady at my original weight so no change here I fluctuated up over the holidays a bit and am psyched to have gotten back to normal but I had hoped to be further along by now. I'm going to try to take the long view and think of it as a maintenance period and get psyched for a new phase. It may not be realistic but I'd like to lose another 15-20 by May which is when I started then I could call it done. We'll see.
Hope all of you chickadees are super successful with your weigh-ins!!
