Hi Girls,
Well I woke up this morning with a cold and just don't feel good. Last night DD was sick and throwing up. She's feeling fine now thankfully. I didn't get out of bed until after 11 this morning. I'd like to get some exercise in today but I don't know if I'm going to feel up to it. I've been drinking lots of water and herb tea.
I'm still up over a pound not only because of TOM but eating was not OP while my family was visiting but I hope things will get back to normal now. The bad thing is that there is still too much ice cream left in the freezer.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Ruth-Sorry to hear about your cold. I tend to think summer colds are worse than winter colds, because they feel so out of place with the season! You take good care of yourself. Once you're better, that pound will come off in no time.

NSM-It must be a really interesting move to go off a plan like Nutrisystem and try to get back to "real" food. You're a brave and intelligent woman and I know you'll find your way. It'll probably be nice sort of weaning yourself onto other foods as you use up the food you still have from them. Calorie counting should be a really safe bet. I went on the other day and figured out my BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) so I knew what my calorie needs are, just to be aware. I don't count calories, but I've got my food down to a science only I understand...hee hee. Like, I said, we all MUST find what works for US. There is no "One Size Fits All" plan out there. Look at me going on and on....sorry! SO glad to have you back!

I better go finish packing the van so we can high-tail it outta here once DH gets home. You ladies have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

CrazyMama: Don't worry, "piggy" doesn't offend me. Actually, my boyfriend started calling me Miss Piggy, and then the name just kind of stuck with me! But you can call me MP, or whatever works for you! Hope your party goes great this weekend!

Sasha17a: Yea, 94.9 is hosting it. I love going to these, i've gone a few different times and think it's totally worth the $$.

Jessicado22: Yes, I did find an outfit at Express. And the top I bought was a medium, so that rocks! I SOOO know what you mean about the scale going up and then down a few pounds. I try not to weigh myself everyday for that reason, but I can't help it! I check almost every morning! LOL Good luck with your end of August goal!! You can do it!!

Jeweliek: WOW, you look great! I hope my tummy looks like that in a few more pounds!

Shrinking Girl: Oooh, sorry about your knee. But good luck with the c25k! Hopefully you won't have to drop out

Delphi: Sorry about your knees too! Running is definitely hard on your legs. I've been using the elliptical lately too, for that reason, except it's my hip that bugs me. And WTG on losing almost 70lbs! I was checking out your progess pic and you look great!

Ms P: I know, you HAVE to have a brat or hotdog of some sort when there's a football game going on! LoL I know I do anyway. HAVE FUN!!!!

Ruth135: Hope you feel better soon!

I jumped on the scale this morning and it said 140.2. I'm wearing an old pair of jeans today that are size 7/8. All this progress, and you know what i did to screw it up today?? I went to Carls Jr for lunch! Ugh, what a mistake that was. I probably gained 2 lbs alone just from that burger i ate On the upside, I didn't eat the whole burger and only ate about half the fries. But now i feel yucky and kinda sick. I knew I should have went to Subway ...

Well, you all have a lovely weekend! Tomorrow is my "date nite" and i already know it's going to be hard to stay in check ... not because of the food either ... it's the cocktails. I'll probably just get my usual ... coke zero and rum. Should save me some cals.

Take Care!!

jessicado22 - 274!!! You got the scale to move the right way!!! GREAT JOB

Ms Perception - Woo-hoo! Great NSV!!! I love it when you can not feel like exercising and just do it anyway. Remember how great you felt after and use that next time you waver on wanting to go!and CONGRATS on 150 pounds!

Shrinking Girl, crazymamaof4 and misspiggy408 - Thanks! I'm blushing from all the compliments. I was measured today and have lost 11.5 inches from my tummy alone since May 21st. I feel like a ROCK STAR in my size 10 jeans!!! LOL

Shrinking Girl - I'm so sorry to hear about your knee. I feel your pain...please take it easy and just recoup! Have you tried a rebound trampoline? My mom jogs on that and it is low impact so it doesn't hurt her!!!

Newshinyme - just keep checking in here and we will help to keep you on track!

Delphi - Yay!!! Under 185!!!! AWESOME WORK Yikes about not running but you know your body best and when it has had enough. Listen to what your body has to tell you...that is part of learning about you so you can lose weight!

Hotsplashes - oh I am so glad to hear about no damage from Tornados. Keep safe and happy spaghetti sauce making

crazymamaof4 - Good that your son felt better! I would hate for him to be sick that's just no fun for him or mom! Don't sweat that baby gain you will be down next stop on of the scale!

ruth135 - Take care of yourself! I hope you feel better. STEP AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM!

No longer morbidly obese by Aug 7th- MET

Reach 10% target by Aug 13- MET

No Candy through August 21 (I started July 21)- MET (yeah I'm calling it 30 min early, big whoop wanna fight about it?)

And, hmm, lets say down to 255 by Aug 31- This is gonna be a close one

And Shrinking Girl- a good brace should help hopefully. My sister and 4 of her friends all trained for their first half-marathon this past year. Almost all of them had knee pains at some point, and all were able to run the half with the help of a good brace. (you may want to talk to your Dr about which brace is best for you. Depending on the type of knee problem, some use a full brace, other a band that goes just under the knee)

Hey Ladies,

I'm just checking in. I had a busy past couple of days; best friend's birthday, helping a friend dye her hair, my cell phone croaked, and everything else in between. Luckily I have lost a pound, unluckily I haven't been walking my twice a day for an hour each routine. I will tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I hope to remember to measure myself. I will be re-weighing myself Monday to make sure I didn't go over board this weekend! I'm feeling pretty good, I had a little problem with my friend's birthday; I didn't eat too much, but what I did eat was a little too greasy and made me sick the next day.

I hope you ladies had a great week and I wish you all a great weekend. I will be updating this weekend.

Morning ladies
Checking in.
I can't believe how well some of you are doing - a real inspiration!

I'm up & down and tomorrow is my weigh in day & I've no idea what I weigh.
Not a good sign.
I skipped weigh in last week because I couldn't face it & I've been MIA from 3FC for most of August.

The good news is I'm working hard to at least meet 1/2 my August goal and I still walk for 30 minutes every day.

We had lots of trouble here on the farm and I'll be so glad when summer is behind us & my life settles down again.

Good Morning Ladies

Down another pound this morning, and that puts me exactly where I should be with all my calculations, so I'm really, really happy with that. This month has not been a great one for deficits, so hopefully next month will be with cardio overload.

Susie ~ Good to see you checkin' in and sorry to hear about all the trouble on the farm. It takes a very special and dedicated person to do that work. Farm work, is never ending and you never get a day off. So

Echo ~ You've made great progress

jewel and misspiggy ~ THanks for the encouragement.

Shasha ~ Thank you so much. You keep smiling darling.

Ms.P ~ I guess I missed something, you guys are going on another trip? Exciting!

Everyone I missed...

Sandye, how goes it? and big hug's to NSM, honey you can do this and I think you are making a brave decision and I am confident you will pull through this with flying colors.

As for me, I haven't been up long and don't plan on being productive at all today. Netflix is my best friend on the weekends. We get unlimited streaming and since they added it to the xbox 360, weve been in movie heaven. Well you ladies have a great day.

Great that you have come back!! and that's excellent you have been keeping with the walking !

There is this research done by Dr James Hill -he found that the difference between naturally slim people and overweight people is only 2000 steps. ie naturally thin people only take 2000 extra steps.

Paul Mckenna
Quote:
:the study revealed that people who were overweight took 1,500 to 2,000 fewer steps a day than those who maintained a healthy weight.

Think about that for a moment – only 2,000 extra steps a day can make the difference between being overweight and being slim! That’s about the distance it would take for you to walk four city blocks. The more steps you take, the more calories you use up, and the increased speed of your metabolism from those extra steps will continue to burn away your fat while you rest or sleep.

Good morning, chickies!

I am not going to attempt to do personals as I've been MIA for over a week. I know if I spend that much time here I won't do my cardio!

This has been a baaaad month for me, goal-wise. I have lost just 2 pounds despite eating right and amping up my workouts. I did skip 2 or 3 workouts. Since school and soccer started I've been crazy busy. We have 2 cars and 4 drivers so I spend a lot of time in the car after work. I am very discouraged and at times a bit ticked off, but I haven't given up! Watching Sandye and Delphi get through their stalls was an inspiration. So much so that I stuck with it. In past attempts, I woud have given up at this point, so thank you girls!

I do have a NSV to announce! Several months ago, I bought (at Goodwill) a pair of Gap jeans in 14. They fit great in the legs, but no way could I begin to zip them. I bought them anyway. Yesterday I tried them on, and they fit! I had to lie down to get them zipped, but I wore them to work and was able to zip them, while standing, all day. The pessimist in me was thinking "Gaps must run large" since I'd never before owned a pair. When I got home, I fished out a pair of my old Lee 14s, and they fit too!!

I wish I had time to thank each one of you for your support, but if I don't get off the computer, the cardio won't get done ( I know me). Keep up the good work everyone. I am so inspired by all of you!

Hello Chickies!

NSM - I spotted you over in Calorie counters! Good luck with your transition and let me know if you have any questions! I'm not an expert at calorie counting but I do know it often feels good just to complain to someone who knows what you're talking about! (Or celebrate, actually...)

Darby - Good luck staying OP. I definitely understand it being difficult when the hubby is away... I think I used to eat to replace chit chatting with my husband when he started working longer hours. No one to talk to? No problem! I'll just shove these chips in my mouth.... same thing!

Delphi - The c25k is just like any other form of exercise and guess what... if it doesn't work for you... no need to keep going at it. I'm getting a bit of knee pain as well, but not nearly as bad as you are it sounds and trust me... I'll definitely be giving it up if the pain doesn't get better. No sense in breaking the new bodies we're creating! And wow... 70 lbs! That's impressive!!!

MsP - congrats on 150! I can only dream of 150 and will only dream of 150, I'm sure (if I maintain my current muscle mass anyway). My DH and I are big brat eaters and when I started calorie counting I couldn't believe how many calories they contain! So I tried the turkey brats and just couldn't stand them. I've since moved on to ones made of chicken (though technically I think some of the ones I buy are chicken sausage and not a brat but who cares) and the chicken is soooo good! I bought some cheddar and bacon ones (120 cals each) that I could have frozen and treated like an ice cream cone they were so good and then at Sams Club I found some garlic mozzerella ones that were just as good and with just as few calories. And the bonus? DH thinks they've incredible too. yay!

Hotsplashes - Glad to hear you made it through the weather! My tomatoes are ripening as well and I usually make spaghetti sauce out of them but just don't feel like it this year so I'm giving all my tomatoes away (I usually get around 300-500)..it may get interesting..

Shasha - have fun on your trip!!!

cmo4 - Ahh birthday parties... how fun! I hope everyone has a great time.. and really... I've never washed my walls prior to a party before... I must be a huge slacker in cleaning compared with you!

jessicado - Congrats on the weight loss! Having less than 100 to go is totally something to celebrate... kudos to you!!!! I know what you mean when you say "closer to 250 than 300" I used to do something similar before my weight hit 200... it was "oh I'm just 170... that's 30 lbs from 200" The numbers can mean a lot.

ruth - Hope you feel better! Feel free to send some of that ice cream to me... I loooove ice cream... oh wait... maybe that's not a good idea.

misspiggy - 140 woo hoo! And I'm totally envious of your cocktails. I miss alcohol now and again... just not something I'm doing right now. It's on my list of things to add back in some day. For the moment... I'm sticking with very occasional (mainly because when I drink, i eat eat eat eat).

jeweliek - Never heard of a rebound trampoline... I'll have to look into it... thanks!

Aclai - Thank you so much... I feel much better knowing a brace will likely help and wow... a half marathon... I'm just hoping for a 5k right now! Also, congrats on meeting 2 goals... that must feel fantastic!

latetothegame - Hang in there! A plateau just means you've been doing so great you're throwing your body into a panic!!

Whew! I think I'm done now.
Went out and bought a knee brace last night, hopefully that will help. I did a quick weigh in the other day and saw 218.0 but haven't seen it since and I've been muddling over it until I was reading everyone's posts and kept seeing TOM pop up and guess who appeared this morning! My TOM! I'm not used to getting it every month (I've gotten it sporadically since it started when I was in jr high) and so I guess I' m not used to dealing with the complications every month. I'm encouraged on 2 fronts now: 1... I'm likely hanging on to some water weight here which means I may make my August goal of 217 after it leaves!!! I really wasn't sure it was possible.. I've lost so little weight since I started that I was kind of flying on a wing and a prayer the muscle gain would slow down enough for me to lose that much on the scale. And 2... All the exercise just might have begun regulating my hormones enough so that my womanly organs might straighten out... which means I may not need outside help getting pregnant after all. I'm hopeful and excited and actually crossing my fingers that I get a period in another month now. yay! I really can't remember the last time I've had 2 in a row like this... and you know... the beginning of health problems was another reason I started on this journey.

Ok... have a great day!!!!

Hey Ladies,

I'm just about to leave my house to go and do my usual volunteer work Saturday mornings. I decorate my church by making flower arrangements and everything that goes with that; like cleaning. Today, it sounds like my mother and I are going to do a few running arounds. Look at a few places at cell phones and see if GoodWill has a small, indoor trampoline that we can buy. I miss my big one I had growing up and man! They are such a workout! Crossing my fingers for that. Other than that, I plan on walking an hour at least today. I am up a few pounds, but that most likely water weight and I feel that I might have a cold coming on, which I hope I don't.

Have a great day!
