Hey Dance - I also saw the skeptics on the cleanse as well and although..yes, Im sure this will mess with my metabolism...it not as much for weight loss as it is to get all the crap out of my system. We will see. I did record my stats yesterday and plan on doing do every 3 days, to make sure everything is ont he up and up, because like I said...Ive never done something like this before. Also...if I start to feel really crappy, I will stop because nothing is worth that - for sure. I appreciate the link, lets see what happens. As long as I dont die, lol...kidding...Im interested to see what happens.
Yeah the workout schedule - it is pretty insane, not too far from what I was doing though, I just added a gym day to Saturday and gym time in Wednesday night, so everything else matches what Ive been doing already. I just felt the need to challenge myself because I was getting to complascent. Also..starting next week, Gabriella will be in soccer, so of course, I will have to tweek it.
Anyway...I am wrapping up the day of my cleanse and so far so good, lets see what tomorrow brings.
Lindy - Damn........OK, I am refocused....lol..... I am glad I read your 'chew out' as I was contemplating a piece of pecan pie! LOL.................Oh heck......
Ok, Lindy, a cleanse? Wow, if you are ready, please be careful. As you have read on here, my husband did one from the health food store, and actually it knocked him down like he had the flu. He stopped it after the 6 day. A couple of months later, he did another one, and it was better, but he was REAL careful if he went too far from the house.......if you know what I mean......lol.
Today was better, however I did eat a large dinner of Lasagna - HOWEVER - I made it from stratch with very low sodium. Let me explain. My husband has very high blood pressure from stress (our finances and job market) and he tends to eat very high sodium foods, where I eat healthy foods. Anyway, he is letting me take over his food, but I need to make sure it is foods he enjoys, otherwise I may lose control of his diet (you know how men are...lol). So, I made Lasagna from stratch, with low sodium tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, lean meat, and light on cheeses. I also had salad. So I kept my calories low until dinner. Of course I was full from the major pig out the night before......LOL......However, my calories for today were at 630. So, I don't know the accurate amount for the Lasagna, but I figure I am probably around 1400 for the day. No workout today, as errands took up the afternoon and then we had major thunderstorms this evening. I will workout in the morning though - promise.

Lindy: If you're up for the cleanse, go for it. I would say be careful with it and your killer workout plan...you want to make sure you have enough calories to cover the workout.
Sandy: Great job on the low sodium lasagna. I love lasagna, but only with lots of cheese, which is probably why I don't make it as much.
Ok, so I had the trainer tonight (Mr. Hott) and he's just as hot as I remember. So, he gave me an awesome workout, and is customizing cardio workouts for me to do on the side. He's a super nice, down to earth guy (too bad we're both attached...darn it), and we get along really well. He's good looking, but not snobby about it. So, training sessions were on special through today...so I bought 10 more sessions and got 1 free. So, 12 more weeks with Mr. Hott. He gives me a really great workout and explains a ton of stuff to me, so I figure it was worth it...but, it was $500. Dent in the pocket book and the hubby still isn't working, so I dipped into my savings. I look at it as investing in myself. I've seen results with the trainers, so I'm sticking with it.
As for the job front...the hubby already knows he didn't get the job...he got the generic email from the company. He's disappointed that he is going to miss out on the paycheck, but in the end, he realized the job wasn't really for him. So, hopefully this will mean something else will be on the horizon (I hope).
Maddie - LOL........I love your writing about Mr. Hott......LOL.......I am smiling a BIG smile. On a serious note though, yes, you are investing in yourself and I am so proud of you seeing it that way and sticking to it. I wish I could afford a trainer and I know it would be so beneficial. I am sorry about your husbands interview and all, but you are right.....he wouldn't want to accept employment when he knows it not what he wants. If that happened, he would just quit, and that would show up on and future possibilities.
Well for me.......I ate it......yes.......the pecan pie.............dang it. Ok, tomorrow I am serious again......focused..............
Maddiesmom- sorry to hear about the no go on the job front for hubby, it will all happen and fall into place when the time is right. NOW...lets get into Mr. Hott...lol, can you say jealous?! I am soooooo jealous of you! See, the trainers at our gym, we have a couple hotties but they KNOW they are hot and that turns me off. Anyway...kudos to you for investing in yourself, I love your outlook and if it seems feasable...then by all means, I would have done the same thing. How long are your sessions anyway?
Mygrits - oh trust me! I know exactly what your hubby is going through, lol. I have found the cleanse to "kick in", right around 7 p.m., which is ok by me because that is my wind down period, the bad thing is...it rolled over into this morning, lol. Its ok...I can deal. Im on Day 2 and feel good so far, around 5 p.m., I started feeling slightly hungry but nothing extreme. Im not really sure what it is about the cleanse that doesnt make you feel hungry and still gives you energy (as it stands righ tnow), but I havse watched 100 daily diaries on this and majority speaking, it seems like everyone who does it comes to a consensus that it works and makes you feel good. I guess Ill know once all the toxins are gone because my tongue will be pink again...lol...uh, I already thought it was but apparantly not. Oh well...Ill keep you girls up to date.
On a separate note, I did look at the calories that Im taking in (or lack there of with the cleanse) and what Im burning, and its a bit much, in fact...a lot of the people who did the cleanse were already healthy nuts and said that they had to cut their exercise routines in half just so they would feel run down. So...that being said, thats what I am going to do. No afternoon anything, just mornings and just 5 days a week. Lets see where that gets me. I know the cleanse goes against everything 3FC stands for, but Im really looking forward to seeing where it takes me. I have also read that once your done, if you stick with a healthy lifestyle, you will no longer crave sugar and sodium based foods....WOW - that would be freakin awesome.
Anyway---Im babbling.
Mygrits - back to you. THIS IS AWESOME NEWS about cooking for your hubby. This is where you can help him without him really knowing it, lol. You should try like chicken Kabobs or something. Those are really tasty and healthy. I swear by those things! lol. NOW...BACK TO YOU AGAIN - grrrrr, what is this about pecan pie? huh...missy?! eh-eh...nope...not happening...I HOPE you get your exercise plan in today. That pecan pie is not going to fix anything. Improvise next time, do strawberrys with fat free chocolate pudding or angel food cake with whip cream...thats actually not a TERRIBLE dessert, now, of course there are better options...but if you have to (as we all do something), then make a little bit better alternative.
Ok girls, Ill check in later. Gotta go drink my cleanse..CRAP, lol.
mygrits - great job with the lasagna! And so glad your husband is letting you have influence over his food. Not good on the pecan pie - that stuff is majorly loaded with calories. What is it doing in your house in the first place? I think most of us try not to have our biggest weaknesses in the fridge. If there was a giant bag of doritos in my pantry, I would be in trouble daily. My bf still likes desserts so I'll pick things up for him but only in single portions or make him take the leftovers to the office. I'm not saying you need more will power as I know I for one certainly don't have it - just less temptation around! We all want you to be successful and I hate to see you sabotaging your self : (
maddiesmom - love the gym/trainer stories! You're my hero!!
lindy - sounds like a good idea to cutback a bit on your workouts while your calories are so reduced. And less cravings would definitely be a good thing!
Doing okay here - but just okay. Didn't row last night but am going for the run as planned this morning. Nice and cool so should be good. I had a panic yesterday when I realized if I lean just right, I can make the scale lower than it is really and it made me flip out about how much weight I've lost. I've calmed down and checked the scale using weight plates and it works fine if you stand up straight. I think I was leaning a bit last week before I realized what was going on so am really at like 173 instead of 170 but I'm going to leave my ticker where it is and see if I can make fiction into reality by this weekend : ) I had to remind myself that I look different in the mirror, that my clothes got too big, etc. Such drama! I know a rational person would get a new scale but this one's an old dial scale and I've heard such nightmares about the unreliability of a digital scale that I'm not convinced it would be an improvement. The devil you know... right?

LOL........Ok Dance and Lindy - I hear you!!!! Dance I know I have to keep ALL temptations out of my house, as I am under too much stress not to sneak or binge. I, like you, buy the single portions (if I do buy), so there is nothing left for me..........Now, that being said, I THOUGHT I bought a single portion of pecan pie in the freezer section of the store, however after opening it discovere (much to my dislike or delight...lol) there were 2 pieces in there. Hmmmmm, yes...........and the rest is history. The reason I bought it, is if I take all 'bad' things out of my husband reach, he will NOT last and be back to his ways quickly. This is hard for him, he is a Chef (a good one too). Lindy, I like you, LOVE chicken anything......kabobs, BBQ, grilled......whatever, however Mike isn't a big chicken fan. He loves his burgers (which isn't bad if its not fast food type), meat meal, and all. He is difficult to cook for him, because there just aren't alot of foods he absolutely loves. I know that sounds weird, since he is a phenominal cook, but he isn't really a pig out eater. He loves breakfast, burgers, but then it is small treats like pudding, movie popcorn, and all. I don't know, I'll do my best and that is all I can do.
Anyway, on another note, kinda funny, but I accidentally left the Lasagna in tupperware on the counter all night........dang it. No temptations for me today....lol, but on our budget it was a loss........;-(
I did get my workout in and DID do another mile today.....yes! I was actually up at 6:30......shock!!! I didn't go to sleep until 1am, so it was a surprise to wake up and get moving!
mygrits - way to go on your workout! Gotta break out some serious smilies on this one - It's got to be tricky working around your hubby's likes and dislikes. Cookinglight.com has some good recipes for ways to reinvent classics - some of those might appeal to him. I'm trying a cauliflower puree tonight - low carb, low fat and supposed to be just as yummy as mashed potatoes. Will share the recipe if it's any good!
Mygrits - woo-hoo for the workout!!! I am SO proud of you. We'll get you refocused. Oh, and I can totally relate with the picky husband. When John and I lived together, I had to cook two different dinners because he was absolutely adomate that he did not need to eat healthy and trust me - HE DIDNT! lol. Anyway, oh well...we will take baby steps with you Bubba, lol.
Dance - bummer on the scale note. The same thing happened to me with my old scale, but it was off like 5 pounds, which really sucked. Lol...Im happy with the one I have now.
Ok, Im holding up ok ont he detox. Not terrible. Its only natural I am going to feel hungry but not as bad as I thought and I dont feel fatigued or cranky - YET.
Burgundy - where's my exercise buddy??!!??
Finished my run but procrastinated until it was uncomfortably hot : ( Am planning on squeezing in a workout tomorrow to make up for yesterday but it's tricky as I go straight to a volunteer thing after work and have an early start tomorrow. Will see what I can do...
Lindy: to answer your question, my training sessions are an hour a piece. I do the personal training once per week, and then go to the gym at least 2-3 more times a week alternating cardio with the strength training. So, I have training sessions until Thanksgiving, and hopefully I can get some training sessions as a Christmas and/or b-day gift.
My personal trainer (Mr. Hott) is great because he alternates what I do each week, so I'm not constantly using the machines like I did with the previous trainer. He had me standing on a bosu ball and throwing a 12 pound medicine ball, as well as doing a circuit where the weights get heavier, etc. each round. It's been fun (wow...did I just say that?!?) but I really feel like he's challenging me rather than taking it easy because I'm overweight. So...it's a good fit. Plus, I have something great to look at!! LOL
Food has been good today:
Breakfast: Water and a nature valley salty and sweet bar
Lunch: Portabello mushroom Healthy choice pasta with a diet coke and banana (and I'm actually full! Amazing)
Dinner: Pork ribs on the grill. Gotta watch myself...I'll probably have that with some veggies, no carbs/potatoes
Hope everyone else is doing well. Lindy: how ya feeling?
Maddiesmom - Im holding up pretty good. I am seriously not really hungry, I am freakin amazed by this. I have also read and saw that the first 3-4 days are the hardest and thats when you start to feel sore from detoxing, and you get headaches and stuff...but I dont have any of those symptoms either (YET)...so, this is looking pretty good so far, lol. I created a blog to record my journey through this, I will upload the link later into my signature. I plan on posting pics tonight.
Im off to lunch to pick up Gabriella. This is the one good thing now...Im not tempted at lunch time because Im scrambling to get her picked up and get back to work in time...thank god!
OK - I spoke too soon, lol. I am beyond starving right now. It JUST kicked in around 3 p.m. I went to drop off my daughter at my Grandmas house and sitting on the counter was a big plate of bacon, she made BLT's for both me and her to snack on. Grrrr....she doesnt know Im on a cleanse, so I just said it wasnt on my diet and to not worry about making me snacks anymore because I dont want to waste food. This completely blows...yep, blows. Im going to chug some of my oh so delicious lemonade and pray that I get through this.
Lindy - that sounds so tough! It seems like what you're missing the most is a source of protein so I'd focus on that if you get too hungry. Hang in there, kiddo!
Maddiesmom - you are going great food-wise and continue to hold your title or workout queen in my book! : )
Since I got the run in this morning, I've been super productive both on work stuff and on personal stuff (running the dishwasher, doing loads of laundry, dropping off stuff at goodwill at lunch, straigthening up while on conf calls) and I'm sticking to plan really well. It's so weird how starting the day off right affects you later.
Breakfast - melon (too hot from the run to want more)
Lunch - chicken, grapes and carrots
Dinner - plan is to have boneless pork chops, sauteed spinach and pureed cauliflower, peaches for dessert
How's everyone else's day going?
Mygrits - are you back on the straight and narrow? : )
Burgundy - girl, where are you?
AJ - what's new with you?
Staccie and Tifftiff - we miss you guys!!
