Thanks Jacqui! I look forward to seeing you and all the other fine ladies here in the July thread. I'm headed over there now to finally throw my name on that goal list!
I'm feeling sorry for myself and down in the dumps this morning - I can't really figure out why
Suddenly the enormity of the amount of weight I'm trying to loose has just hit me.
I usually try to take it "One Day At A Time" - but today I've no perspective.
I lost well this past month(11 lbs.) & exercised everyday, but today I want an "overnight fix" to my weight problem
I'm also bummed and angry at myself that I ever allowed myself to gain so much weight back.
I've gained back 90 of the 125 lbs I lost in 1997.
I started gaining in 2001 when I was working 55 hrs. a week, remodeling my house & on the verge of a divorce.
Believe or not I think I've just realized exactly how overweight I am.
I've been living in la la land and need a or a bucket of cold water before tomorrow.
Oh..need to say that I'm growing out a super short haircut & my hair looks goofy.
When I have bad hair it tends to spoil my outlook on life.
Just had it cut & foiled 2 weeks ago so no help there.
Oh woe is me.....................boo hooo hooo..........you get the picture.......
Good Morning Chics,
I know that we are on the new thread but I have to post here my final weightloss for June. I am down another lb making it 3 for this month. Boy I never thought I would make it. Off to the new thread
susiemartin-I've been there. Instead of a kick, let give you a big and tell you you're doing an amazing job. I don't think I ever lost 11 lbs in a month! Our minds can play tricks on us that mess with our thinking, but you can override those with constant messages of encouragment and positive motivation. I don't know what kind of support system you have where you are, but this thread is amazing for that purpose. The weight gain is in the past. You can't change it. What you CAN do, you ARE doing by making the changes you need to for healthy living NOW. Keep up the good work and tell your hair to behave. I'm sure it's beautiful, though, just as you are!

Susie, we all have days like that when it begins to feel overwhelming, but just keep thinking in terms of mini-goals. Like Ms_P said, you can't change the past. You have control over what you are doing now, day to day, and you are rocking it, lady! 11 lbs in a month! That's incredible!! Think about how great it feels to step on the scale and discover that you are another lb down. Isn't that just an amazing feeling?! It makes your whole day! Don't take that feeling or your hard work for granted. You are doing amazingly! You can't have a quick fix because that is "diet" thinking. You aren't on a diet. You are living a healthy lifestyle journey. But it is a journey. There will be ups and downs, both on the scale and emotionally. That's to be expected. It's all part of it. Just don't give in! Keep plugging away, and you WILL see yourself at the your goal weight, and then you WILL be able to maintain it. You do have control over what you do from here on out, so be kind to yourself. You are doing incredibly!
Susie ~ First of all, 's! I've been there, hence why I started this whirlwind of a journey to a fit me. I like you, lost a lot of weight and then just let myself go and gained almost all of it back. Talk about feeling disgusted with myself. Oh woe was me. But darling there has to be point, where you act on those feelings and you just say, I wont go another day feeling bad about myself, when the power is within me to lose the weight and feel better about myself. I to want the weight loss NOW! And, when I started, I committed to it. I'm gonna work for it, everyday, with every choice, with every ounce of girth in me, I'm gonna work for it.
Are you taking pictures of yourself periodically? I know I do and often. Because I'm not at my goal, but when I'm discouraged, I sift through my weightloss folder of pictures and I can visibly see the difference and that is encouraging enough.
You've made the right choices, you've already began your journey to a fit you, so celebrate what you have gotten right and let that be your guide. You can do this..you ARE doing this. You strike me as a very intelligent woman. You have plenty of experience under your belt and you KNOW what you must do and if you look at the weight loss logically, perhaps you can rationalize it a bit better in your mind. My suggestion, do something for you, to make you feel better. Go shopping. A new shirt, new jeans, new shoes or get your nails done..even if that isn't your thing, I think it will still provide you that extra boost you need today. This is all about you baby, live free and enjoy the great strides you are making to a healthier and leaner you. I mean come on...11lbs in one month..you are well on your way kiddo.
Now pick yourself up and let's lose some weight...together.
Oh Wow!
What a nice bunch of posts to come to this morning
Thank you to all of you who shared the pictures of your kids (and pom too), they are all so beautiful.
Delphi and CMo4: Thank you for your beautiful words too. I've said this before, and I will say it again: I am so glad I found this amazing group of women a couple of months ago. The spirit of support, friendship and encouragement in this little corner is just amazing. Thank you to every single one of you for being part of this.
Ms. P.: Congrats on making goal! You deserve a round of applause
Jacqui: You did great; I would take 5 lbs in a month any day!
Susie: You don’t need a kick, you need a Don’t focus on the negatives, I believe that will only make you feel worse, instead, why not focus on the good? You are already doing something about the weight, You lost 11 lbs in a month!!, you have the benefit of hindsight and experience to make things different this time around. And you have this wonderful group to keep you going. As an aside, I know what you mean about being in denial though..I was looking at some recent pictures of myself and I realize that I now look like I thought I looked when I was at over 200 lbs., but you know what? I don’t look like I did 30 lbs. ago anymore anyway and I am only getting healthier and slimmer!
Ok beauties! Now I have to go do some cleaning and get in at least 13 minutes of exercise to meet my June goals somewhere since the actual weight loss didn't go as well
boy! You women are amazing! What nice posts , words!!!
Girls, your children are beautiful and it is sooooooooooo neat seeing them ty for sharing.
MsPerceptionnnnnnnn, yayyyyyyyyyyy You did it chicky! crazymamaaaaaaaa, jacqui, delphi, susieeee , suzy, and to all........congratulations girls on your accomplishments :chee r3:
Susie, I couldn't agree more with the girls. I have trained myself (and continue to train) to stop those types of thoughts as soon as they occur and replace them with the positives and focus on the progress I made...regardless of how large or minute. It's an absolutely miserable feeling when we think that way and does us no good. It's history now...focus on the "NOW" and all of your awesome progress and work. You are doing absolutely fantastic is right! Congratulationsssssssss to you It sounds like you were just having one of those days, those bugger days can get us once in a while. Good for you for posting and reaching out for support....it is a reminder and confirmation to us all to remember our efforts when we get into those funks. Hope you having a good day today I'm all for Delphi's reward ideas along the way.
Delphi and crazymama, will you be posting more fridge pics? hehehe wtg chickies. Newshinyme, lol wtg on those 13 minutes!
okay, I better get a move on. Delphi, I like msP's book idea, lol. Really cool wordsssssss, thanks to all for the inspiration. Catch you soon chicks.
