Way to go susie and gekster! :bravo: on the losses!

Tummy ~ Hey mine come from the Internet. I have a hard time finding anything in my town, much less something like my band. I'm so envious of you gals and all that running. I really want to run. Eh, oh well, I'm trying to make do with what I got I guess. I just wish I could lose some of this fat on my arms, so everyone could see my guns I'm creating. They feel so good and strong but that darn fat is in the way. Still sore from it yesterday though. Which is why, I think I'm holding on to a little water this morning, repairing the damage I suppose. Anywho, enjoy packing, that should keep you uber busy today chicky. Gonna miss ya!

Since I put off the treadmill until we get our movies in the mail, I'm trying to stay off this computer and keep busy. I was hopeful my grandmother would get back today so I could go to the store. We are running low around here and I really want to get some paint. You ladies have a good one..I'll check back later.

Here is the deal with the in-laws.. My BFs mother has a house in Fresno, but moved to New Mexico 10 years ago and has been renting the house. The house is messed up bad from renters (people took appliances, there were no doors on the house when we moved in other than the front door which didn't close all the way, the side paneling is falling off and the roof is leaking) that don't actually have to account to the owner because she never came out to check on the house. We moved into the house to fix it up. And now that we live in it, she came to see the house and help fix things... I did find out though that they intend to stay a week, go down to southern CA and might come back after that. Anyway, the BF doesn't know how to stand up to his mother and it is officially her house it is difficult for me to step in.

I got a haircut yesterday! My hair person is awesome. She said she wanted to try something different yesterday, and I'm pretty flexible so I let her go with it. You can't really tell much about the style of the cut from the pic, but I kind of did an awful job styling it this morning so this is the best pic I've got (of me).

It's actually longer on the right side than the left, I just screwed up with drying my hair like I normally do instead of paying attention to the cut so the right side is all flat even after rewetting it all and trying to do better. So we've got volume on one side and the opposite of volume on the other. Boo!

I got my color re-done too, and it's all very cute. I wanted to look good for the possible meeting of DH's new boss tomorrow night! SOOOO excited!!

Glutio -
Very nice cut. You got your money's worth!

Gekster-
Know what you mean about not standing up to in-laws! Believe me I know

Delphi -

Nothing like fresh paint & a room redo. I have an entire "paint library" in my basement because I can't resist the quarts of custom paint rejects at the hardware store and redecorate every couple of years. I get bored easy :D

Tummy Girl-

Feel your pain with the lawn mower & company coming.

Jacqui_D 06-24-2009 12:39 PM

Susie!!! Congrats on making and exceeding goal!! Woohoo on the panties!!! :yay: :bravo: You girls in the middle of the list are rocking it in red!!! :woohoo:

Glutio, your new hairstyle is so cute!! And the color looks great!! Very nice! :cp: About your liver enzymes being high, medication can cause that. My DH had to go off cholesterol meds because of that, and when I was on meds long ago, I had to have blood work done every three months to keep a check on the liver enzymes. So your antidepressants/anti-anxiety meds could be playing a part. I'm glad your doc is going to take a look at them. Hopefully, when they get your liver enzymes straightened out, it will resolve your energy problem.

Crystal, you are so right that it is up to your dbf to say something to his mom about the living arrangements. You definitely can't. It would only create animosity between you and your ils. Anyway, good luck with their visit and I have my :crossed: that it all turns out well! Oh, and :congrat: on the weight loss! That's fantastic! :carrot:

Delphi, I hope your grandmother gets there so you can get your shopping done, and I hope you have a great day! :)

NSM!!! So good to see you back!!

T_Girl, I am so with you on the PMS! I think my DH is about ready to have me committed, lol! I wish TOM would just get here already! But hey, congrats being down another 1/2 lb! Fantastic! :cp:

Lauren, congrats on the half lb down! Just keep at it and stay OP and you'll eventually move past the up and down and up again! I go through that all the time.

FSA and Blondie, glad to see you gals are able to post again! What an odd glitch! But at least we have the continuation thread all ready to go! :D

FSA, I'm so glad you stayed OP all week and had such a great weekend!! And you maintained! Good for you!!! :carrot: Happy belated b-day to your brother and Happy (belated?) Anniversary to you and DH! :celebrate: Also, I'm SO glad your father is doing better! :dancer:

Ms_P, great job on staying OP, especially while on a trip!! Keep it up, girlie!! I'm so glad you're having fun! :broc:

As for me, I'm still waiting on TOM, and holding on to this delightful water weight in the process!

econ nerd 06-24-2009 12:48 PM

I'm still hanging in here but haven't been posting much lately. I am staying on plan but pulled a muscle in my lower back last week and had to cut out the exercise... I am not doing too good on the weight loss either. I am at 242.2 this morning so I am only down 2 pounds for the month (so far).... I am going in for surgery on the 30th so I would like to shed a bit more by then (although the no eating or drinking after midnight and the "clear out the system" should shed a couple...) My exercise will be limited after surgery (total abdominal hysterectomy to take care of fibroid problems).

glutio 06-24-2009 12:49 PM

Susie, thanks!!

Jacqui, Unfortunately, my liver enzymes have been normal up until now so I'm not sure if the antidepressants have a part of this. I was wondering, though, if it could be connected to the supplements. I've actually stopped taking them since the different brand of one wasn't seeming to have the same affects. I'm really interested to see if the levels are any different on the panel yesterday than the blood test from Friday, though. I just don't think it'll help the energy issue since the liver enzymes are so new and the energy problem is so old! :(

I'm SO tired today, and I didn't even have to get up at 3a today! I will tomorrow, though, so I'm thinking I may just pack when I get home and go to bed/nap stupid early, like on Delphi's schedule or something! Teehee!

Jacqui_D 06-24-2009 01:11 PM

Econ!!! So good to see you back, girlie!!! I am so sorry to hear about your pulled muscle. Ouch! I'm glad you are resting it before your surgery because you are going to need your back muscles more than ever. I know you want to shed more lbs before the surgery--that makes sense--but just stay OP and be proud of yourself for having lost weight this month!! Heck, maintaining is an accomplishment, but you lost 2 lbs! Once you are all healed from the surgery and are feeling much better because you won't have those fibroids to contend with anymore, I just know you are going to be rearing to go! Remember, this weight loss journey is for life and there's no hurry! You're doing great!

Glutio, yes, I see your point about the meds. However, the reason they continue to check your liver enzymes when you're on meds is because the meds can build up in your system, so it's something that always has to be watched. I also see your point about the energy. Wow, I do hope they find a solution for you soon!

FullSteamAhead 06-24-2009 02:28 PM

MsPerceptionnnnnnn, I'm glad your having a blast over there :) wtg on being OP and getting in the exercise. LOL @ "on a sick note" regarding the scale! :) Have a great time chick : ).

Gekster, congrats on that loss. :carrot::carrot: The house situation sounds a bit sticky. See how things go when they are there, hopefully you will have a better idea of the scoop and take it from there. keep up the good work girl : ).

Tummygirl, Hope your feeling better with TOM and all. I hate when my hormones do flip flops like that.......your doing great, hang in there and hoping you get through TOM okay. Gekster,,,,,,,,, congratulationsssss to you too girl! wtg!!!!!!! :) :carrot::carrot::cheer2::cheer2::cheer3::cheer::co ngrat:

Jacqui, ty so much sweet lady.....hug. Hang in there with TOM looming, it will come and then you can get it over with and be ready for our new month! :)

waaaaaaaaa, hearing this liver stuff is .......I was supposed to go for a follow up like a year ago! yeah, I k now! I'll go this summer. Glutio, I had done some research a while back on the issue.......depends on which enzymes are high, typically the AST and ALT but it can sometimes be a fluke...a high reading that is. Most often it is fatty liver....which is quite common. I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it and in the meantime you hang in there chicky. Resting today sounds like a good idea :) hug.

econnerd, I am sorry to hear you pulled a muscle, wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you are feeling better. Congratssssss on the loss thus far :carrot::carrot: and though it may not be what you were aiming for th ose losses add up over time, keep up the good work :) Wish you the best on your surgery , know that we are here for you.

Lewissssssss, god I wish you could see my morning gloriessssssss. I went out in the rain yesteerday to take a few pics. Good thing i put them on the deck and can see them from my kitchen window ....otherwise I would not have been able to enjoy them. I am so glad I did not put petunias in this year, they would of died again from the lack of sun and all the rain. I got these cool purple things that survive no matter what! lol. How is your garden doing? and how are you sweet girl? Hope all is well on your end and that you are taking some time for yourself to enjoy your summer.

Urockmom, are you still sane? lololol. I think I am going to get high when I see the sun tomorrow, lol :) I think it is going to be beautifullllllllll once we get out of this. Hope all is well on your end.

Leneeeeeeeee, hi there! :) HOpe all is well over there on your end too. hug.

crazymama, hi there! wow, I really miss you all. A big  to you all ladies, keep up the great work.........we are almost at the end of our month.

Lekhikaaaaaaaaaaaaa hi girl :)

Lea, supachicks, Hattie (where are you girl? drop us a line, h ope your okay), suzy, wormwooddoll, nello, dolly, anddddddddd to all, Hope all is well.

Okay chicks, i have to run. Lo and behold, I think it is clearing a little. Yeeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, lol :) Girls, I am out of stufff! I need to get to the market. talk soon

glutio 06-24-2009 03:39 PM

FullSteamAhead, what you said is exactly why they ran some more tests. The basic metabolic panel just checks the AST and ALT, and since those were so high, they did a liver panel and had the ultrasound done to make sure there wasn't a major issue.

I've got about an hour and a half left of work. I've been dragging all day! I really just want to go home and pack and go to bed, but I haven't been to the gym in over a week. I'm going to try to get myself in there and spend some time with the bike or something, see if I can't still hit that 20 miles somehow. It's not looking good, though, especially with going out of town, but OH how I'm looking forward to going out of town! Especially since the high here Saturday is supposed to be over 100!!

Blondie32 06-24-2009 03:50 PM

Delphi 06-24-2009 04:11 PM

Just poppin' in to share some news. So, I used my paint money to buy the bigger boys, a bigger pool. So no paint for me. Perhaps next month. So anyways, I get it home and I'm out there sweating my butt off trying to get it blown up and this guy walks over from the church. (I have a small church next door to my house and they were out there doing plumbing work and working on one of their church vans) So anyways, he's like Hi. And I'm like, hi. Then he says, here, let me do that. And takes the pump and starts pumping up my pool. WTF? I'm like OK! Apparently the pastor told the man I was single. Again..WTF? So now, I'm rather uncomfortable, he's pumping up my pool and I'm like soooooooo. He thinks I should go to church with him tonight. He also asked if it was alright if he "stopped by". Uh..yeah sure buddy. I just let random dudes come "visit" me. I mean, come on! Ok! So I'm little weirded out by the whole thing and I'm so POed at the pastor. I mean come on. I'm single, and DON'T NEED A MAN! Geeeeeeez! He was a little hottie though.

As uncomfortable as the whole situation made me, it did make me realize, that I am LOOKIN' GOOD! I feel good, I'm carrying my confidence and people are noticing. So yeah, it was weird, but it was a nice little ego boost. ;)

Anywho, just had to share with my girls, about my little NSV with confidence. I'll be back later to do personals. I've been uber busy, with shopping and I've been clearing out the fence line today. Lot's of weeds and trees to cut down where my neighbor on the other side has let vines grow all over the fence and the trees. It's everywhere. It's like little shop of horrors around here. I swear when I walk by I hear, "Feed me Seymore"

susiemartin 06-24-2009 04:23 PM

Delphi -
Some folks can't stand the thought of a single attractive woman without a partner.
Which feeds into the notion that some other folks
(particularly of the male persuasion)
aren't going to waste a good & choice opportunity to strike up a conversation with an attractive female
Men are men....
