Hey Pat & Eny, great job!! I am so jealous!
I did what I needed to do though, I just went out and parked my butt on the "dreadmill" I did week 3 day 2 of C25K, back in the saddle so to speak. It looks like we are going to get a thunderstorm, so rather than "wait til later" I did it on the treadmill. 2.1 miles, I am happy with that. Now off to do my crunches and then to shower. |
:hug:Hi, all! I was just too tired to catch up last night. Ran around like idiots at work, did good on my walking miles and 1 hour tap class, and I was whipped.
It was like a full moon over here yesterday, but most of it was just too funny to believe. Patients singing bad country music songs while waking up after surgery, one elderly man telling my colleague to quit looking at his one-eyed purple people eater, and other silly stuff. And my daughter started off my day with this observation: "I love cement mixers. They are so cool. They are just like sharks. If they quit moving, they die." Where that came from at 7:30 in the am going to day care, I will never know. I loved the news story about the alleged murderer who stepped into a cop bar for a drink, right after his picture had been up on the TV screen. Fit right in with the tone for the day! :chef:Not doing as well today with the walking, but we have the fireworks tonight, and I am cooking and standing in one spot alot. Hope I can get some steps in while I mingle at the church party later--and not eat badly for the weigh in tomorrow. Later, ladies. Kathy;) |
Hi Everyone~I want to wish everyone here and your families a fun, happy, and safe 4th of July. Remembering all the brave soldiers that have fought and some have died defending our freedom. Even now as we celebrate our independence some are fighting for our freedom. Enjoy your day.
Enygirl~ WOW we weigh almost the same. I am with you, I want to get in my exercise before we go to the bbq at my sisters house. I will be setting playing cards most of the day. I really, really need to watch what I eat. I don't want to undo what I have worked so hard to accomplish this week. I think you are thinking like that too. Tapping~How did you keep from giggling at your daughters statement? That is so cute. MotherMavis~I am proud of you for "doing what you needed to do". Don't you feel good about doing it? Way to go!! Mother Mavis said Christmas is 25 weeks away. Oh Brother I may not loose the 30 pounds I challenged myself to. I gotta get my butt in gear. This week I have found an exercise routine I can do. It doesn't hurt my knees or hips. I work up a decent sweat doing it. I actually enjoy doing it. This might be the way to get on the loosing side of the scales. I have a plan for tomorrow so I don't dibble dabble in foods that are not op. I need my mantra in place to keep me focused on where I want to go, not a quick fix to an emotional situation. Again, Happy 4th of July!! Pat |
I'm back! I checked out for a while, but now I'm back. I love that I know I have someplace to come back to, somewhere to refocus, somewhere that understands how frustrating it is to lose focus. I hibernate when I am in a funk. Can anyone relate? I am ready to regroup and accept that I will weigh in tomorrow and just take it from there. Adding back pounds is going to really stink, but oh well. I have a healthy long life as my goal...I need to learn how to deal with stress. Food just seems to calm me down. I read a great post tonight that stated something to the effect, " When you stop binging, you realize how stressed/sad you are." I guess I'm pretty stressed. Food has been my drug of choice. I will learn, grow, become stronger and make progress.
|
Kathy, I love the full moon observations, it does seem to bring out the oddest in all of us. The cement mixer vs the shark analogy probably would have made me drive off the road, too funny.
36, climb back on the wagon with me. I also tend to fall off and disappear. We have to try and remember that when we are down, we need to come here more, not less. I'll keep trying if you keep trying!! Dixiemae, thanks for the reminder of what we are celebrating today. A soldier we had been praying for in church died last week in Afghanistan. Pray for his family, please. Congrats on finding an exercise routine you can do. What was it? I just checked fit day and to lose 30 pounds between now & Christmas, you need to lose 1.21 per week, starting today, with good weeks and bad weeks, I am sure you can do that. Just think what your little black dress for the Christmas party will look like! Have a great day all, will likely be back thru the day! |
Good morning, everyone and have a fantastic 4th! :yay: Be safe!
We are having rain, but we desperately need it. It rained alot before the fireworks last night, but not while they were going off. And I behaved at the picnic-scoped out the buffet line before I got in line to eat so I knew what I wanted to eat. Didn't go back for 2nd's. Ended up doing better than I thought for my walking, too. Lost 1 more pound this week, so I am a happy girl! The brother of one of the gals I work with got badly wounded 2 weeks ago when their HumVee hit and IED in Afghanistan. He is at Walter Reed now. We need to pray for them all. Great to see you 36! Kathy;) |
MotherMavis~Thank you for he reminder!!! I put my hand over my mouth and giggled and giggled! I have talked and talked about a sexy, slinky black dress for over a year now. I can just picture myself in that dress. When I do my "phone book or tray" stepping I will think of that dress with my affirmation. It will help me get er done. I can step on the phone books or trays because they are soft and help cushion my knees and hip. Another Chick came up with the idea and shared it with me. I have done this stepping for the last 3 days. Soon We are going to add water bottles for some arm exercises. doesn't sound like much, but after an hour I am sweating. Thank you for looking up the 1.2 pounds a week weight loss. It doesn't sound so intimidating when I think of it that way. I will pray for the family and loved ones of your friend. Think slinky black dress giggles.
36~Good to hear from you. I missed you. Let us know how you are feeling, we are here for you. When I am depressed or stressed I tend to crawl into a shell and not come out for a while too, I can relate to the feelings too. You are not alone. Everyone have a fun blessed day. Catch ya all later!! Pat |
Thank you! I've missed everybody, too. Happy Fourth of July everyone.
|
36 - I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!!! I completely understand though. I stopped coming in here during my last big funk in march/april and gained back #16 of the #19 I had lost... now I'm working to get them BACK off!! NEVER AGAIN! You girls are stuck with me because I NEED YOU!!!
Pat - We are close to the same weight... now if only I had the extra 4" that you have! :D Let's work together and hit the #180's end of next week - what do you say? You in? I'm all for cooperative mini-challenges! I'm still on plan - which is AWESOME! I didn't do any formal exercise yesterday - but I walked around outside for 2+ hours before fireworks last night... It counts in my book! :D Right now I'm getting up the gumption to start cleaning the house for the cook out tomorrow. Joe said there's about 15 people coming! but I have to get to it! #27 pounds to go in 25 weeks... I CAN DO IT!!! |
I hope everyone had a great day today! Right now I'm praying that the fireworks going off don't end up waking up Johnny. I THINK I wore him out enough today that he'll be out like a light til morning, but there's always a chance that he'll wake -- especially since some of the folks right down the street from me seem to have bought fireworks to set off at home. :^:
We live in a pretty decent sized city and one of the big bonuses for me is that downtown there's a wading pool/fountain set up that's almost always open & free for the kids to run around in. (And in the winter it's a free skating rink!) I've taken Johnny down there before, but he's always fallen asleep in the stroller by the time we've gotten there. He did the same thing today, too, but I was determined to have it be the highlight of his holiday so I woke him up. We were there running around for almost 2 hours!!! SO much fun!!!!! I tried attaching a picture here for you to see, but it doesn't seem to be working out for me but the blog post about the day is at whoopseedaisee.blogspot.com/2008/07/truly-fabulous-day.html |
Karen, he is too cute! Thanks for sharing.
|
Hi Everyone~I had a good 4th celebration. Eating went well. I strayed just a little, but not bad. I went for a 50 min brisk walk about 9ish pm. I am happy with the day. I kept my sexy, slinky, black dress in mind when I was tempted to eat sugary carbs.
Enygirl~ I am up for a mini challenge. Just what I need to get to 180 something. MotherMavis reminded me about the slinky black dress, what is your goal? Hope everyone had a fun, safe celebration. Pat |
Hey gang, just wanted you to know I've turned into a bit of a lurker in this thread, but I'm still here, reading your inspiring posts and I'm still on-plan (Day 115 today!) and going strong! I crossed the -50 lb mark this morning, (-51.4 total, yippee!) and I'm feeling thrilled and happy and motivated! I'm still totally focused on where I can be come Christmas, I plan for it to be a doozy!
Keep up the good work everyone! |
I am back & it's a girl!!!
Hello Everyone,
I have been reading the post to catch up since it has been about 2 weeks and you all are doing great!!!! I wanted to join back in since I am now ready to get back to business. I hope you remember me. Last time I posted I was waiting to diet since I was 38 weeks pregnant... well not anymore!! I had my 4th beautiful daughter on June 27th at 1:19am. Isabel Lisa came screaming into this world weighin at 8lbs, 1oz and 20 in long. She is healthy and wonderful. I cannot begin to tell you how blessed I feel!!! I am doing great as well. My dh & other daughters dote on her and well.. life is good. Now back to reality.. I am now able to follow the ww plan and so far I am still super motivated since 1 week after the birth I am down 21lbs. I now have to keeo the mojo going on this weight loss trail. My dh is on board so that makes it so much simipler. I did great over the 4th and made only salads that i could count into my plan. The 3rd I did not do so good since we went to Chilli's and I had 1/2 of a big mout burger which was good, however I have no idea how many points that would be. I am now trying to add exercise back into my life to help the weight drop faster. I will try harder to post more and get to know all of you wonderful people better!! Blessings, Lori in the Hawkeye State One Carrot for every 5lbs Lost !!! :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot: |
Welcome back and congratulations Lori!! Best wishes to you and your family! Good job sticking with plan. One meal off at Chili's is still great. I have been trying to eat clean except for one meal a week. I give myself one meal off for when DH and I go out to dinner.
Pat, sounds like you did well too, it feels so good doesn't it? When I am having good days, I wonder how I ever can have off days, Josephine, I been reading your blog, you really do inspire me. I am wanting to try & follow your OP dedication and have resumed C25K after reading your blog and seeing how wonderfully your running has worked for you. Thank You. Everyone, have a great weekend! |
Wow - that was a lot of catching up! ;)
Lori - :congrat: and welcome back! Remember not to push to hard at first - but I'm happy you're back! Karen - John is SO freaking cute! Seriously! Pat - Right now I'm pushing to be "overweight" at Christmas (#163.6) which means I too need to lose about #1.2 a week. Not too tough! My other inspiration is that my friend Shari in Texas (who I met on here) is going to come and visit me when I hit a size 8 :) She's one of those "long-lost-friends-destined-to-be-together-feel-like-I've-known-forever" people :) I CAN'T WAIT!!! Josephine - WAY TO GO ON THE #50 loss! I'm hoping to be there on Monday's weigh in - I'm really freaking close! Also AWESOME 115 on plan! What keeps you so motivated??? Alright girls have to get ready for the cookout... I'll check in later! |
Congratulations, Lori!!! Babies are so awesome. I happen to be a big fan :D
Today was an okay kinda day. Got in a nice little walk with Johnny. His aunt bought him a sprinkler for the backyard for his birthday but the squirrels attacked it (Tom left it out ... and the local squirrels are brutal and fearless), so I've been searching for a replacement. Unfortunately none of the places within walking distance seem to have summer stuff on the shelves anymore! It's all been cleared out to make way for back to school stuff... which kills me when school's only been out for a couple of weeks! Ah well. At least I got a nice walk and he got a nice stroller-induced nap. Tonight's the last night of my long weekend so I'm going to see how much more of my Biggest Loser Australia on YouTube I can plow through before Tom gets home from work. When I'm working I'm lucky if I can watch an entire episode on any given night and since the show airs something like 5 times a week over there I've got a LOT of episodes to watch!!! Hope everyone's doing wonderfully well! |
Morning all, staying spot on plan, checked the scale this am, not showing yet, but it will and I need to not fall back into the stepping on the scale every day trap. Weigh-in once a week only for me.
Josephine, WTG on the 50#, that is awesome. BTW, I made your overnight bean salad for cookout today, yummy! Whoopsie, good luck finding the new sprinkler. It's scary how early they have the back to school stuff out, kind of like the Christmas before Halloween displays, drive me nuts! Got to go, we are having a cookout for FIL today for his birthday. He is 86 and we are blessed to have him. I have to get in the shower, get to 8am mass, go and pick up the cake and then get back in time to get everything ready. Need to stay focused on good choices today, will run tonight, after the sun goes down. |
today is a rough day for me. I'm trying to eat clean, but struggling with it. I'm really tired after yesterday's festivities and staying up so late :tired: I'm still good calorie wise, just haven't made the best choices... oh well. Still technically on plan. :)
I'm going to do some :yoga: after I put DD to bed. Just a take it easy kind of day.... Tomorrow is weigh in - I'm hoping to see a #18?.? - but anything down from last week would be awesome! :) |
Enygirl~I have been op-it has been hard-but I have managed. I did my stepping workout today. I am sorry you are struggling today. Holidays are so hard to get through cleanly. That is why I decided to do this Christmas Challenge. Are you going to weigh in in the morning and post? I will weigh in in the morning and post. I want to weigh 18? something so badly I can taste it. I am so tired of weighing 190 I could scream. If you hear a scream in the morning you will know I didn't make it. I have really tried my best to stay clean eating and exercising every day. Here is to you!! (((HUGS))) Pat
|
good evening ladies
Awesome name for your baby mommapossum.. congrats!! I've been challenged by herbal magic to lose 2.5Lbs by saturday so I guess I will be working my butt off this week, I can't disappoint myself so I have to do it. Congrats for all the losers, your awesome and keep up the good work  Well just finished a long walk and now I have to plan tomorrow's food and then do crunches to get going on my losing this week. Have a great night!! Isabel :carrot: |
Eny & Dixie, I am right there in struggle land with you.
Sometimes, I am a jerk. I got on the scale this morning. I just said yesterday that I was not going to do that and I did it anyway. I knew better because my rings are tight, so I know I am retaining water, duh.... Well, anyway, the number bummed me, so I thought about eating cookies, banana bread etc, but I did not. I ate my yogurt, came here to vent and I am going for a run. I am also going to drink a full gallon of water today and every day this week, stay op and exercise, every single day this week and let's see where I am next Tuesday when I have to go back to work. I bet I can get to ticker weight. On a good note, I just got an email that my new running companion, an IPOD Nano is on it's way from Overstock to me!! Can't wait, I'm so excited. |
I'm down another #2 this Week!!! And I went over the #50 loss mark AND I'M IN THE #180's!!! :cheer: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer3: I'm a little excited :D
I'm 1/2 way to my labr day goal w/ 8 weeks left and have #26 left until I hit my Christmas goal and there's 25 weeks left!! THIS IS DOABLE! :elf: MM - how are the Munches going? Awesome that you're getting a Nano. I'm buying myself an MP3 player as a reward when I hit #185.5 - which shouldn't be much longer! :D Ok - here's to another ON PLAN day!!! It's Tae Bo & Push ups day - which is always fun! :) |
Count Me In!
I hope it isn't too late to be apart of the challenge! I just joined 3FC today, but before I did, I already set a "Christmas Goal". It is great to find a group of people who are thinking about goals the same way I am!
Anyway, I would like to lose an average of 2 pounds a week until Christmas. I want skinny clothes from Santa!!! So, I'll take all the support I can get! |
Welcome Amanda, it's never too late to join us!! 2 pounds a week is a great goal
Eny, you ROCK! :carrot: 180's and a 50 pound weight loss in the same week :carrot::carrot::carrot: SO proud of you and since you asked I just did 100 Munches after I got back from a 3 mile run/walk (Day 1 of week 4 of C25K) |
Hi Everyone~I weighed in this morning AND the scale said 189.4 :cheer3: :cheer2:  I started this journey at 198. Nine pounds gone. Now my goal for this week is to loose a total of 10 pounds and not look back. MotherMavis says 1.2 loss per week will achieve my weight goal by Christmas. This is my goal.
Enygirl~C ON G R A T S on losing to 189. :bravo: :cheer2: on loosing 50 pounds. WTG Girl!! The push ups will help too:D Congrats to all the losers this week. Christmas is getting closer. The year is half gone already.WOW!! I have things to get done. I will catch ya all later. Pat http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/heartb...8/150/189/.png |

|
Eny~I am with you! 170's here we come. 172 has real meaning in my life. I would jump to the ceiling when I reach that goal. Thank you for the friendly mini challenges. An extra push for me to know some one really cares. I am cheering for you. Let do it. Pat
http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/heartb...8/150/189/.png |
hi all -- Amanda pointed out this challenge and I wanna do it too! My husband and I are going on a cruise over the holidays and I want to lose weight for that. My goal is to lose 35 pounds by Dec 15th (when we leave). It sounds high, but I have a lot to lose so it should go quickly in the beginning. (That's about 20 weeks, so a bit less than 2 pounds a week, if my math is right.)
I love the energy in the posts on this challenge! Hope you are all having a good day, staying strong, loving yourselves -- you are SO worth it, chickies! Oh, what I need: I guess I want/need encouragement, and to be reminded why I want to lose weight: health, my knees and ankles, fun clothes, funner sex life ; ) |
Anita - I am so glad you decided to join this challenge with me! I want to lose 2 pounds a week until Christmas.
All Members - I have gotten the eating part down, for the most part, I just need to start working out more. Or should I say, just working out period. I have a 6 year old little boy and just had my 2nd son 2 months ago! I am ready to get this weight off, but am a little time challenged. Any suggestion on how to get started would be great! Thanks again for all the support! -Amanda |
Anita, welcome, a cruise for the holidays sounds awesome! I can so agree with the knees and ankles comments, I have noticed that my knees bother so much more when I run when I fall off plan and gain a few, when the weight is going down, the joints get all happy. The better sex life is right on too, you just feel better all around I think and it get's your confidence up I guess.
Amanda, I am guessing you need things to do without a sitter? Do you have a carrier for the little one and does the older one have a bike? Maybe walk around the neighborhood and progress to biking around the neighborhood. Also, videos are good and depending on what TV service you have, you may have an exercise channel, on Digital cable here, we have "exercise on demand" great for finding a new workout to try. Dixiemae, WTG girl, that is awesome. I took my first college course in over 20 years tonight, I have to go do my homework before I forget what I learned. TTYL!! |
This thread was pointed out to me on the introduction thread I posted and it fits my plan perfectly! My best friend is getting married in October so my goal is to be down roughly 25 pounds by then and then meet my goal weight of 120 pounds by Christmas. I am hoping to lose 1-2 pounds a week by counting calories and exercising at least 5 days a week.
|
Wow, there have been some fantastic accomplishments since I last checked in.
MotherMavis, congrats on your course! What are you taking? My biggest success came this morning when I overslept. I couldn't sleep last night until very late, so when I woke up, I was as exhausted as I was the night before. I had a billion things to do before work, and almost put off going to the gym. I realized that some things could be put off till later, but if I didn't make it to the gym, I'd have a hard time keeping my 3 times a week commitment. So I went. I'm still not enjoying it, but I am enjoying knowing that it's going to make a difference, and it's going to help me better enjoy hiking (which I do love.) I lost 3.2 lbs this week, with a new total of 313.2. I have less than 14 lbs to lose for my goal, so I'll definitely have to adjust it. I am so excited, I can barely keep from squealing. |
Hooray for new people!!!
:welcome3: I pulled off a 1.2 pound loss this week which makes me pretty happy. This week's weather is looking like it's going to be horribly hot & humid but I'm hoping it doesn't get so bad that we're stuck inside again. If it was just me I'd say "screw it" and head out anyway ... but I don't want Johnny to get too overheated. I was terribly sensitive to the heat when I was his age and I really don't want to find out that it's genetic!!! Tuesday may be okay, though, so I might take him downtown so he can splash in that pool again and maybe we'll hit up the Farmer's Market while we're down there. I've lived here 4 1/2 years and JUST found out that there's one downtown every Tuesday afternoon between May & October!!! I so felt like smacking myself upside the head when I found out. :frypan: |
EarthShaker :carrot: WTG on the loss, that is awesome!
I am taking Spanish, getting back into the swing of things with a summer class so that I can take a couple more next semester and eventually get the degree that I started before I got pregnant. (DS1 is now entering his 3rd year of college and DS2 will be a HS Sr this year, so it's finally time) Whoopsee, WTG on your loss too, have fun at the Farmer's Market! Julia - Welcome, we are glad to have you!! |
Amanda: That has to be tough, trying to exercise with little ones. I have a hard enough time making myself go, and I don't have concerns like you do. Best of luck finding something that fits. :)
MotherMavis: What's your degree going to be in? I just finished my English degree in May, and I'm a bit chagrined that it took me 16 years to finish a 4 year degree. Saw a sign on a church on the way to the gym: It's not the work that's hard; it's the discipline. When I got on the elliptical, I thought, "What a load of crap! It IS the work!" I'm still feeling really tired when I get home from the gym, but at least I'm able to stretch out the work out a bit, and while I'm not excited about the machines, I am starting to feel better while on them. If only I didn't feel so sleepy now. |
Congrats on the losses (Go ahead and squeal, too!!) and on the commitment to exercise when you don't "feel like it," to pursue long-delayed goals, to do good things for yourselves! You guys rock!
|
I have been hiding in shame for the past two weeks. June 25-29 was our family's annual camping/rodeo weekend. I had everything planned ahead...then for got to pack half my op food. Although I wasn't terrible, I came back with a 4 pound gain. I know most of that was fluid retention, but it still really P*ssed me off!! I struggled the whole week, staying on plan all day, but having a snack in the evening. The positive note was that these snacks were just that a snack size serving...not a WHOLE Bag of chips, or an ice cream cone while the rest of the family had Blizzards. Then came 4th of July weekend  Food wise I was fine....but consumed way tooo many liquid calories...and I am not talking about sodas.
Sunday I kicked my own butt. I was OP all day and night!!! I had a glass of ice water with a lime Sunday night instead of a margarita and Sunday afternoon I did 45 min of water aerobics. Yesterday was another OP day for me and more water aerobics. This morning the scale rewarded my efforts!! All of my wild weekend weight gain is gone. I am back on trak and feeling stronger and more confident!! |
