Hey all!!!
I have been super busy and haven't been posting, but I am so glad to see that this challenge has been hoppin!! I just really quickly scanned this page of posts, and if I could chime in on the yoga conversation -- I go to a yoga class 1x a week that KICKS MY A$$!!!! It's not so much about holding the poses in this form or that, but moving quickly through the "vinyasas" (poses) so you're in constant "flow," and then holding them sometimes, too. It's also in a room heated to 98 degrees, so the sweat factor is pretty high.

Quick NSV for me: it was cool when I was able to pull pants out of the attic that I haven't fit into for a while, but what's even COOLER is that those pants are now too big!! I am just working to shut up the voices that are saying, "those pants just stretched, it's not that you lost weight," because, well, what, are there little pants-stretching gnomes that entered my closet and PULLED with all their little gnomey might to give me all this extra space in my pants??
My goals were not met yesterday, but it was pretty impossible to get the right foods into my schedule, so I lived off of a 12" sub from Subway all day (half for lunch, half for dinner, quite the deal for $5). Not enough veggies. Too many pretzels. Gotta get to the grocery store! Maybe I can get the gnomes to go for me...

Oh and one more -- I snacked on a Ritz cracker type thing, which I have always found just delish, but yesterday, it tasted like a mouthful of pure butter. Ew.

Lizzy - Congrats about those pants! I'm positive it wasn't the pants gnomes.

So GIANT NSV for me today. I worked out during lunch as usual... but I am cautiously beginning the Couch to 5K program. So, I alternated brisk walking and JOGGING! I can't ever think of a time that I've jogged because I wanted to! Sure I remember horrifying days in highschool... but I chose to do this!

I really meant to post here daily and haven't been doing so. I will try to be better about posting.

I have a NSV for this week. My wedding rings have been to big for several months now but I didn't want to go and get them sized until I was closer to my goal weight because I didn't want to have to get them sized again later on down the road. Last week I was outside working in the yard and lost my wedding band. Guess I should have gotten it sized sooner?! My dh went and bought me a new (vintage- they were made in the 1950's) set. They are a size 7.5! My old ones were a size 10 and were to tight to wear whenever I first started losing weight. YAY

I will try to go back and read all the posts. I hope that you guys are doing great.

Ahill - Sorry that you lost your ring, but really awesome that the new one you got was smaller!

Aughaugh. Exams this week have been kicking me in the butt!!! And it's not even finals yet!! I still have 2 and a half weeks to go before THAT monstrosity!! So of course, the comfort junk food has been beckoning! I hear its Siren Call from the kitchen, begging me to come forth and partake in this oral orgy of calorie madness!!!

Okay, maybe that's a little too melodramatic. But y'all will be glad to know that I have abstained! Yaaay! Haha, no junk food for me. I'm actually taking a break from studying for my exam tomorrow, bu the good news is that if I get an A, I won't have to take the final in that class. Cool, huh? Anyway, I'm pretty darn proud that while I haven't been exercising as much (oopsie), I've still been eating right!!

Also, a few minutes ago at dinner, I opted for a corn tortilla instead of the usual flour tortilla slathered with butter.

I hope everyone is doing great.

Again, not a ton of time, but I caught that faerie is jogging!! yay!! that is HUGE! I totally know the feeling, there is nothing better, I think. It felt to me like the basis of calling myself an athlete, if I could jog.
And I'm catching that Ceph is stressed...breathe?
Let's see, NSV...I'm pretty proud I finished out a workout last night despite leaving the gym. I'm really starting to NEED that exercise, in a conscious way.

Good luck all!

I have enjoyed reading everyones NSV....way to go everyone!!
I haven't been posting very much lately...not much to report...until today!!

I started "First Place" which is a faith-based healthy lifestyle/weight loss program. I have been writing down everything I eat..as per each weeks journal sheet, so it has forced me to be way more concious of what I am putting in my mouth. Anyway, I went to Swiss Chalet for lunch with some friends from work, and ordered a white quarter chicken (pulled off the skin) a side salad (instead of a potatoe with butter) and a multi-grain roll (used only a minimum amt of butter) and a diet pepsi.
I was very proud of myself for intentionally making healthier choices.
I also got up early and worked out this morning....even though I really didn't want to.

Dea - Way to go! Making healthier choices when eating out is so difficult, but you handled yourself really well

Faerie: That totally made my day!! x a million.

shrinkinglizzy: Nah, I'm good now. Everything will be easy cheese from here until Finals, and even then I'm not that worried about it.

PS I love this thread.

Soulbliss,
Sorry. I didn't realize my thread was close to yours. I just read it. It's a cool thread! I'll just put my NSV successes on this thread if that's ok. By the way, my NSV successes for the past two days are that I'm back on track (that's a big one) and joined EZ Money's 5K Marathon.
I already did 4 miles on my treadmill. I better get back to it. Thanks, SB.

My NSV for this week was that even though I had a sinus infection and couldn't exercise, my measurements on my body (waist, gut, hips, thighs) were ALL down 1/4 inch. To compensate not being able to do my exercise DVDs, I walked 1-2 miles extra Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Today, I also went window shopping. I tried on size 18M pants from Old Navy. Last time I was there, I had to buy tight size 20M pants. This time, the size 18s were loose except at the waist (my gut is big yall). the size 16M fit too but I couldn't get them to close at the waist. So yeah, it's great to see that I'm losing.

Big ol' NSV today -- i am wearing jeans that have NEVER really fit! They are snug, but not really tight, and i'm really interested to see if i can actually wear them comfortably all day!
And another one -- drank last night, could easily have used that as an excuse to go off plan (cause damn i was hungry!) but I didn't! came home and ate a small bag of chips and some prunes. yes, i said prunes. they're so tasty!

i gotta get off of these boards! but have a great day all!!
