Lekhika those pictures are extremely motivating! Thanks for posting. You can see how much thinner your face is and the weight loss brings out your beautiful eyes! Maybe i'll do the before/current once I reach 6 months as well (september 5th).
It's nice to know i'm not the only one who's up (is that wrong? lol) but also very encouraging to hear about those of you still losing. I look forward to reading the posts every morning before work and once again mid evening. You're all so motivating and encouraging. Keep up the good work and I hope that you all had a great start to this work week!

ah, the ebb and flow of weight loss... i've noticed that happens with me too... i just hope that both my lows and highs get lower over time... one website suggest a floating average, but who really wants to do the math on that one?!?!?! so in the meantime, we just have to battle our minds to stay motivated and positive when the number increases on the scale...

Lekhika you look absolutely radiant!!! I bet you have more energy now too to chase around your son!

So im back from my trip, complete with cold and tom cramps. Great! Weight loss really hasnt been happening for me this month, life seems to be getting in the way it would seem. Next week I am embarking on a bit of a boot camp style thing, scottish man is away for a week, so im going to really focus and see what I can shed in a week. Im too easily distracted it would seem!! I dont think my goal of 5lbs loss for this month is going to happen, but lets see what I can do in the rest of this week and after bootcamp week. I would like to see some inch loss again too.

Anybody out there with medical knowledge? I think I've identified my recent problem. I donate blood, regularly. I "gained" 4 pounds after donating on Thursday, just today I'm back to where I was then. Which is great because the scale is moving in the right direction. If that's what happened then I have to get mentally prepared to ride this roller coaster every two months. Oh, goody, something to look forward to!

Still not sure there's any chance at all for the monthly objective, but who knows. Stranger things have happened.

Lekhika 08-14-2007 11:09 AM

Thank you all for the kind words! I feel alive and happy now and I think that even though the external validation is awesome....the true reward really is my health. I was well on my way to type II diabetes, and I'm so glad something "clicked" and I reigned myself back in!

Dea
I love those weight loss challange shows too...way inspiring to me as well. But then, most of you are just as inspiring too!

I can't wait to see your before/afters!

Sockmonkey
Get back on the wagon girl! That's what it's there for!

I have to run because my son has woken up...I'll do more personals later.

Going to do it this time!!!

well...i have been struggling maintaining a diet.....so this time IM COMITTED!!! 1000000000% and I'm going to loose 10 lbs this month!!!! :carrot::carrot:
I've bumped up the cardio to 2 times a day! And bumped up the H20 Intake....so im feelin pretty confident!!!! HOOOORAH!

bdandy3 08-14-2007 04:35 PM

I'm a little nervous about saying this outloud because I don't know what tomorrow will bring........but this morning the scale showed that I am down 4 pounds for the month!!! I was a bit shocked because I wasn't very good this weekend and am afraid that might catch up with me, but I'll take what I can get!! Woo Hoo!

Still doing good with the workouts, so maybe that's helping?

Have a great day!

Dea 08-14-2007 08:50 PM

I didn't get on the scale this morning...in fact, I didn't get out of bed until 10:00am!! I had a bit of a lazy day today, and didn't do my walk/jog until this evening, so I will weigh myself in the morning. My fingers are crossed that I have at least lost the 3 lbs that I gained last week.

seasoning 08-14-2007 09:16 PM

Good for you, Beth! Somebody needs to get us out of this gaining rut we're in right now.

Dea 08-15-2007 10:48 AM

Those 3 lbs are gone!! What a nice surprise! Now all I have to do is stay focused for the rest of the week and not sabotage what I have accomplished.
I sometimes do that....I think "I deserve a reward for loosing those few pounds", but then my reward sets me back.

Way to go Beth...4 lbs in a week is awesome!!

Elegant Departure 08-15-2007 11:10 AM

TOM reared his ugly head yesterday, which might explain the 3 pound gain I have endured. At least that's what i'm hoping! I suppose we'll see on monday. today is payday and I plan on using a small portion of that to buy myself turbo jam and maybe a new pair of dumbells. I'm hoping a little more resistance and a new form of exercise may put the loss in high gear. losing 7 pounds in just over two weeks is almost impossible, but i'm going to try anyways! Plus who knows, with TOM here, i may actually be holding onto a bit (i usually gain 2-4 during that period, pun intended).

Congrats Beth and Dea on your losses. It's motivation like that which helps me realise that maybe I can still lose those 7 pounds this month! Keep up the good work ladies!

Hi ladiessssssss,

Sorry I havn't posted recently, I wasn't feeling too well. Nothing eventful has taken place here the last several days. Saturday night we hooked up with some freinds at a gourmet restaurant we all tried out for the first time. The food was o.k, nothing to rave about but we had a faboulous time as they are very good freinds and company. Sunday is when I started not feeling so good and I thought perhaps it was just from all the activity the past 2 weeks on vaca and post tom tiredness , etc. but it just kept going and going despite sleeping plenty so not sure what the story is. I hadn't even left the house until yesterday evening to go for a ride with dh. I think I am better today, keeping fingers crossed.....I'm not one to run to the doc easily. I finally got on the scale a few days ago and up 3 lbs. post vaca. I am not suprised ladies, I really whooped it up during vaca. Thank goodness it wasn't more of a gain that that. The exercise really does make a big difference in keeping the weight off, managing it, etc.. so keep up the good work.

I read all the posts and I just love everyone's spunk and tenacity!!!! Congratulations to those of you who lost and also to those of you who did not or had a gain....bravo for keeping at it and keeping on truckin. You all rock ladies :carrot::carrot::carrot: We have 2 weeks to go before finishing up our month.

Lekhika, that was so cool that you posted the before and after pics, ty for sharing with us! :) You look absolutely great girl, and radiant! : ) keep on shining.

Dea and bdandy, way to go girls! :carrot: :)

sockmonkey, way to go on getting right back in the saddle. Keep on truckin, we still have 2 weeks to go! : )

elegant, sounds like a plan re: shaking up your exercise routine a bit. The gain is most likely due to tom, I agree. Keep it rockin' : )

Nosnahhh, I can't see the page before right now but you mentioned doing a (i think it was 26miles?) race? When is it again? I recall you won a trophy in the regatta races in Texas! THat sounds super girl, keep us posted :) Regarding the gym you joined, how do you like it? I am thinking to look around for a place to join for the fall and winter. I have always been one to workout at home but my thinking is that it would be a good contstructive outlet for me in the sense of a great way of getting out during those colder months versus just going out to dinner, etc. Regarding battling our minds, etc.... right on girl! Keep on rocking! :)

pigginpodgey, hi there : ) welcome back! sorry to hear about your cold and cramps, hope your feeling better. We still have 2 weeks left to our month. I think I need some bootcamp right n ow too! ;) go girl!

Hi seasoning : )

Well my ladies, I need to go do a post before logging out. You are fighters my freinds!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: kick butt! Hope you all have a great day

Hey everyone. So I'm feeling like the world is crushing me right now. Hopefully it'll get better soon....doubt it but whatever. Trying to hold off on eating more sorrow. Stayed the same this week on the scale.
