HI there ladiessssssss,

Dea, congrats on the 2 lb. loss :carrot: high five. Congrats also to all on their losses.

pigginpodgey, hope you feeling better and getting over that cold.

Lekhika, elegant, etc. hi girls! happy to see you all holding the fort d own. I have been pretty busy here trying to catch up with things that got left for so long during vaca and then the week after that I was not feeling well......I got so behind! ANyhow, I have been plugging away at it and getting this place back in order now that I kicked that whatever it was I had that was making me feel ill. The house has been frustrating me, it needs some work (second floor needs new carpeting throughout) but we don't have the finances to to it right now and I am going to have to live with it for a while longer. We found a pretty big problem in the driveway (a pipe running under) andhave had people over to give us estimates....that has to be done. TOday it is beautiful out and we have our summer back! I am going to take a breather from the house and work and enjoy the weekend while we are having this nice weather. WIsh you all a super weekend, hugs.

I'm still here, just doing a lot of things right now. I switched my exercise from morning to evening yesterday to see if I could get weight loss moving again. I've done morning exercise forever, but I think that over the years I've gone from being a morning person to an evening person. I certainly have the biggest temptation to snack in the evening! Anyway, it went well and I had more energy for it that I thought. It did take longer than usual to fall asleep, but I'm going to stick with this a while to see how it works. I'm down a pound and a half this morning, so maybe there's something good there!

FullSteamAhead 08-25-2007 08:00 AM

goodmorning everyone : )

How's it going ladies?

Seasoning, congratulations on dropping the 1 1/2 pounds! :) that's great! The ex. schedule sounds like its working out well for you. I have never been a real morning person and typically do my workouts late morning to early afternoon but at one point I wanted to get in early evening workouts to get the metabolism going (as I am most sedentary in the evening and active during day) so I broke my workouts into segments, doing for ex. my aerobics during day and walk with dh or treadmill early evening. That worked awesome for me and am working towards doing that again! Anyhow, good work, keep it rockin! :)

This week is going pretty well. I didn't go out to dinner at all during the week and saved my night out for tonight. I have been cooking at home (having beef night one night) and gr. chicken, etc. I picked up some thin n'trim chicken from the deli and made some nice lunches a few times with f.f mayo, lettuce + chicken on toasted wheat bread. My mom came over Tuesday and that's what we had for lunch....along with a salad for my mom. We had a great get together, as always!

It's going to be a steamer here today, in the 90's. A good day to get some laps in and buff up the tan prior to going out. As for my weight, I have ditched the scale for now. I got frustrated with the gain I h ad over vaca even though I expected it and decided to just concentrate on doing well and getting back on track....when I start losing enough I'll see it visually as well as how my clothes fit but I want to gauge my weight at months end to know what I am working with for our month of September.

1 week to go ladies! keep on truckin : )

Lekhika 08-25-2007 08:14 AM

Good Morning FSA!

I love you "hear" of your days out and your lunches with your Mom because I have a similar relationship with my mother. After years of a tenuous relationship after I became a MOm things have somewhat mellowed enough for us to be able to hang out and enjoy eachother as people. When she retires I hope we have similar lunches and stuff....

It's going to be pretty out here too and I'm glad I am not addicted to exercising outside because I would surely fall down and die. ALready it looks icky...like India hot and I would know.

I'll be happy to do my cardio and yoga today. It's really a yoga day but I was going to pump up the exercise on the weekends as well but go half an hour.

Looks like getting exercise back has been the key I needed. It's a good thing I've grown to love running because I don't know how I would face the hour of cardio otherwise. I get such a high when I push through a workout. THer's nothing like it!

Down 2.5 this morning....1 left for this month and then....on to next month...

Wow next weekend is Labor Day! Has the whole summer passed?

HOpe everyone has a great week and a rockin weekend with lots maintaining going on!

Stay safe and happy people!

seasoning 08-25-2007 11:35 AM

Hello folks! Great news, Lekhika! I hope that 2.5 pounds goes into a black hole and never comes back. FullSteam, your plan for dividing workouts seems like a good one. I know what you mean about evening being the most sedentary time and it's nice to get some activity in there.

And yeah, summer's almost over. Let's get going so those holiday goodies don't blow us out of the water!

sockmonkey70 08-25-2007 01:57 PM

Hello everyone! Sorry I am MIA alot...Just haven't had much time this week.
CONGRATS ON ALL THE LOSSES since I have been gone!

Scale had been up in the 192's alllll week, but finally this morning it was back down in the 189's....Silly body. Playing tricks on me *finger wag*
I went out to a Mexican restaurant last night, and I didn't get my usual deep fried chimichanga slathered in sour cream and 3 cups of beans YAY! I Instead opted for some beef fajitas (If I wanted chicken, I woulda stayed home LOL) which were absolutely delicious. No sour cream, no guac, and only a tiny little bit of beans. I did eat a few too many complimentary chips, but hey, it was Friday :p

Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend!!!

Down 2 pounds! Woot woot! OK, it was actually 1.8 pounds lost, but I'm rounding for this forum. We still have five days left in August, so I could still make my goal for the month. :cb::cb::cb:

Mary, good for you on your restraint in the Mexican restaurant. I have to be very, very careful in those places because I want to dive into the chips and salsa headfirst.

Lekhika 08-27-2007 09:17 AM

Way to go Seasoning! I love it when the figures match the work!

And Mary...god...I would totally have gone ape at a Mexican restaurant saying to myself, "I don't eat Mexican everyday!"...I too can't resist that chips and salsa they plunk in the middle of your table.

We had a nice weekend, My husband's sister and her family were in from Delaware and we relaxed on Saturday evening...I had made stuffed shells and baked chicken tenders...a cherry crisp with home made icecream for dessert.

Yesterday we went to Princeton University, it is such a lovely campus! We walked around and had lunch at a small diner across from all that gothic architecture...

I got in my exercise on Saturday but nothing other than our saunter through the campus on Sunday..oh that and some shopping! :p

Exercise is in the plan today. Hope all of you are well!

September is right around the corner ladies...let's work our tailfeathers off to make it a good August!

pigginpodgey 08-27-2007 09:51 AM

Morning everyone!

Well i survived the wisdom tooth extraction, wasnt as painful as I had myself braced for so that was a relief!! Needless to say my eating could have been better over the weekend, it was gnerally anything mushy!! I was also having to wash out my mouth with hot salt washes 4 times daily, now Im not making excuses here - but do you think that could have affected my weigh in this morning?!
Previously i had been 213 when i had a sneaky weigh in during the week, but today im still 215. Im ok with that, a maintenance is better than a gain. Im doing my final monthly weigh in on friday.. so will see what that brings.

Elegant Departure 08-27-2007 09:57 AM

Sock- good job! Mexican is one of my favourite foods, it's sooo hard to pass on guacamole for me. Enchiladas and fajitas have a special place in my heart. :)

Seasoning- congrats! the loss from 155-150 was the most difficult for me. I hit a plateau and it took lots of hard work but I succeeded. It looks like you probably will hit your August goal, awesome!

I hit my labour day goal a week early! Needless to say i'm really happy. I now am 7 pounds short of my goal, but have come to the realisation I may actually have a little more fat than I thought and the skinny me might actually be able to settle at the low 120's. I'm not going to make that my new goal weight until i'm sure though. As i've realised that as i'm getting closer each pound loss is much more noticeable.

I hope you all had a tremendous weekend and are all coming close to your August goals.

This long weekend i'm going shopping for new jeans. YAY!

kappy 08-27-2007 01:07 PM

I have absolutely no idea how I did it, but good golly I'm down 1.4 pounds since last Monday, despite the roller coaster between then and now! Who cares, I'll take whatever I can get. Have to admit the other gals are right, sometimes the weekly average is a lot more positive than the daily ups and downs! Unless this week turns into a real major miracle the monthly goal is toast, but hey, anything is better than nothing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

seasoning 08-27-2007 02:53 PM

kappy, 1.4 pounds is great! Sometimes you have to take your wins where you find them, but a victory is still a victory.

Elegant, great job on making your monthly goal early! I think jeans are the ultimate symbol of weight loss. A nice pair of jeans shows off your butt like nothing else!

piggin, I think your salt rinses could definitely have something to do with the weight. Salt can sabotage the best diets.

Lekhika, the cherry crisp and ice cream sounds too good to be true. I'm salivating just thinking about it. I better stay a long way away from that!

sockmonkey70 08-27-2007 04:48 PM

:cheer: Way to go Kappy and Elegant! :cheer:

piggin, I am so glad your wisdom tooth extraction went well :) I am one of those people who HAS no wisdom teeth, so yeah...That says alot about me

lehkika! Way cool on noticing the architecture! That makes me like you even more LOL.

JasonsLea 08-27-2007 08:22 PM

Congrats on all the losses ladies! My life has taken another turn (as usual) but I'm just going to keep chugging along. I really have no choice. It's either that or sleep eternally.

sockmonkey70 08-27-2007 08:40 PM

Keep going Shari! Don't let life get you down. We gotta make the best of what we got!! Please message me sometime if you wanna talk!
