August weight loss challenge
Hi Ladies :)
It is time to start our new month again. Congratulations to all of you that had weight loss last month, for those of you that maintained, and also to all for just keeping at it! :carrot: Ready for another round? Hope to see you all here in our new thread and fresh new month. All are welcome so for any of you who would like to join us, please do so : ) the more the merrier. We simply state our goals for the month and measure our success in any fashion we feel is best for each of us whether it is via the scale, measurements, clothing, and/or simply feeling better psychologically and physically, etc. Our main goal here is to support one another along our journey. I would like to say thankyou once again to the super team of ladies here for the support and insipiration and helping me along during these summer months, which is typically a trying time for me. :hug: My goal for this month will be primarily a maintenance (first few weeks while gallavanting with dh on vaca) and then a couple pounds lost the final portion of the month. I look forward to our new month together and to seeing you all here , as well as meeting those of you who may just be joining in. Let's keep it rockin' :) |
August already jeez!! Well i didnt meet my goal of 5 lbs off for July, 2lbs off. Im setting my goal for August to be 3lbs off. Im desperate to lose these 5lbs to get into my next stone, i havent been 14 stone something for about 4 years, so it would be nice to see!! Heres to a great month, and thanks to everyone for their support and advice last month, especially FSA!! Hugs to you all!!

I have just re-discovered this site and I am excited about incorporating it into my lifestyle changes! My goals for August will be to STICK to the Weight Watchers Flex Plan, and to exercise 4 times a week. I have started a 3FC blog entitled Out of the Ashes. My blog user name is Phoenix. Hello all I am part of the Labor Day challenge and was wondering if you mind my joining this one also. Give me a month goal at the same time as a longer term goal. After the Labor Day we are moving to a Christmas one so I could maybe continue to do both!
I am gonna assume a yes since everyone in these forums is so nice all the time. My Current weight is 189.5 and I would like to get to 182 before August 31st. We are going to Disneyland the week after Labor day and so I would love to be over 20 pounds down by then, at 180 :) Besides that when we get back our Y membership (which has been on hold) will be back open for us and I would love to start lifting weights and such at 20+ pounds down from my start weight. That way I slowly incorporate stuff to keep from a platuea. Ok well good luck to all and I will keep an eye on this post from now on. |
I would like to lose 5 lbs by August 31st. That would put me from 226 down to 221.

As for August, I am setting a goal for 8 pounds lost. I have been setting it at 10 in previous months, and it just isn't happening. So I am hoping to see 187 by the end of the month:D :broc: Looking forward to another lovely month with you lovely ladies :broc: |
Ugh, i weighed myself this morning and apparently i'm back up to 144? A two pound gain over night? I'm hoping it was just a fluke with the scale, so i'll check again tomorrow morning. I'm hoping to get down to 135 by the end of August/labour day, eand reaching my goal of 128-130 by October 1st. I think it is all doable, even if the scale wasn't wrong this morning and I am at 144. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning and determine what exactly it is i'm looking to lose, but at this point it sounds like 9lbs by August 31st, then another 7 for October. Although I didn't reach my goal of an 8 pound loss this July, I came quite close and stuck to all of my adopted habits. Except I did end up drinking twice (and quite a bit at that!) , but you win some you lose some. I look forward to hearing from everyone!

Hmmm last month I did really well. I even surpassed my goal for weight loss. So this month instead of aiming for 5 I am gonna aim for 8lbs. An 8lb loss by the end of August.

Well, I didn't meet my July goal of 8lbs....my fault, no excuses...but I did lose 5lbs, and lost a total of 8.25 inches. So I am happy with that.
I am going to set my August goal for 5lbs. We are away on holidays for part of this month, so I want to be realistic. If I surpass my goal....great! Thanks for the support ladies....July was alot of fun!!! |

I'd like to do a goal, too! I'm setting mine for five pounds. I've got a couple of small changes I'm making - more water, less wine - and I'm going to incorporate more exercise. Hopefully I'll get there! :broc: Good luck to everyone!!! :cheer:

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, trying to settle into the new job and all. Hopefully I will be getting my computer fixed within the next two weeks so I can be able to be online more often. So after TOM decided to show up last week, I've blown up about 4 lbs. No biggie. Ya, I said no biggie. Life has been hectic anyway and I can't sit here and say I've been OP. But I just turned 21 Sunday and this is a new start. I'm a big kid now and I got to get my **** together. August is officially Shari's month, yall. It's my month to get my WL plans back on track, get my bills in order, and treat myself because **** yeah I deserve it!

Well, i'm still pretty new here, but a setting a monthly goal seems like just the thing i need. i haven't been doing much of anything lately, so i'm going to come out the gate and start with a loss of 10lbs for the month. i'm back up at 207 last time i weighed, which was this past weekend. 10lbs sounds a bit ambitious, but i feel like i really need to get this ball rolling. we'll see how it goes... |
Hey all. In the interest of self-motivation my goals for August are to lose 8 pounds and to increase the cardio exercise to 10% more than I managed in July. Which makes it minutes = 922, miles = 26, calories burned = 10407.

Elegant Departure I am sure it was just a fluke/water weight. I showed 198 the past two mornings, but I know it is just TOM. Can't wait for this to be over BLeeeehhhh.

Today has not been that great eating wise, had cheese for lunch, darn stuff!! Im off to the gym tonight for an hour, i have a nice light supper planned fish and salad, so hopefully this will get me back into it!

It's good to see so many new people here- and so many of you from the July challenge. I'm going to make 8 lbs. my goal for the month. That would bring me down to a weight I haven't been since, let's see... 1996? I am so psyched! |
So I guess today is my official weigh in, it being August 1st and all. I'm at 143, meaning i'm going to make my goal for this month 8. And NEXT month will only be 7. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, and took medecine in hopes I could fight it. WELL this morning I feel even more sore in the throat. I'm hoping that my healthy eating/exercising help in the fighting of germs. If i'm sick for my vacation i'll be very upset!

Hey ladies! It's the first of the month and we're on to August! I weighed in this morning and I am at 117.5....half a pound shy of my July goal! I'll take it!I have been totally slacking exercise wise and am feeling down a little and I bet it's because my body got used to the high of working out.
It's going to be a hectic first two weeks of August for me so I don't know how much of a dent I'm going to make in my 5 pound goal but here's to at least maintaining! My mother in law will be leaving us for India come this weekend and I don't know what the kids and I are going to do without her. To boot my husband is going to accompany her so we're going to be here all alone. I"m nervous, it's the first time I'll have the children to myself longer than 2 days (without hubster). I will try to squeeze in exercise here and there....at least yoga....and stay on plan and drink plenty of water! Welcome to all the newbies. This is a great place to stay on plan....keep posting...keep working...the weight will come off! |

Hey all! I'm leaving for a month long trip to Europe on the 14th so I wouldn't be able to keep my regular routine for the whole month.
My goal before I leave is to reach the 160s. I hope by keeping active I will be able to maintain that weight when I'm away. Good luck to everyone this month! |
Have fun! When we went to Europe (england and ireland) for 2 weeks I lost weight, course that was a few years ago and I gained it all back right away.

I am in! I am setting my goal for 10 pounds. I have not been doing well lately (and by that I mean that I have been eating like a pig and exercise has become a thing of the past) so I know that I am due for a "big week" in the beginning. The rest of the 10 pounds will be solid fat, though. I am really excited about this!

Yesterday was just ok eating wise and I didn't get to work out at all because of TTOM. It has been really bad lately and if I exercise, it just gets worse. Hopefully I'll be able to get a workout in tonight. |
Funny so many of us with the same complaint right now TOM. I am really happy though for the first time in I don't know how long I did not gain 5 pounds with TOM. I have stopped losing at all even with quite a few low day just before but I didn't gain and I feel encouraged because of it. Usually after TOM is over I lose a lot of weight fast for a couple week (usually as in that is how the last 2 months have been lol) so it will be interesting to see how it goes this time. I make the most progress on my bar (which I don't move when I gain from TOM) right after so here is hoping!
For everyone else keep up the good work and I know your pain, there have been time I gained 10 pounds over 2 days with TOM, just remember its hormone weight and don't let it trick you into bad eating. Have a great upcoming weekend everyone. |
Haven't been on this in a couple of years, but I'd like to join in--I was doing this on my own starting this month but I saw this the rest is history. I'm at my biggest [deep breath] 275--my goal is 10 for this month. I started taking martial arts classes 2 weeks ago and I sweat and we're doing lots of cardio...4x a week for 2 hrs. I'm sore but having a blast. This, with some better eating habits should get me to shed 10--I HOPE!

I made just under half my goal for July. No one's fault but my own. 2 lbs. instead of 5. So I'm shooting for the other 3 this month. If I go over it, good, if I don't, more for next month.

I'm going to join you wonderful folks for this challenge. I want to lose 30 pounds by the end of the year, so that makes 6 pounds in August and every month after 'till the new year. I've let myself get sadly out of shape these last months, but now I'm ready to rock! :carrot::carrot::carrot:

Welllll I finally dropped my pre-TOM waterweight, had a .8 loss down to 195.0 this morning. It was a good feeling LOL. Now I can't wait to see 194! |
