Hi kappy, sorry to hear your up in weight. Hopefully it is just fluid retention and will come right off within a good days, hang in there and keep at it....that darn scale works in mysterious ways sometimes. I am sure your losing inches with the exercise, I saw a dramatic difference in my shape as a result of it. I am wondering if maybe you could bring a little cooler full of fruit and maybe some yogurt to the hotel for some healthy snacks. I have done that in the past and it was a real help.

OK, this is not fair. I'm UP a pound for the week! I was expecting a slight drop, from what I've seen on the scale the last few days. Aaaargh! Maybe I had too much salt yesterday.
But anyway, I ran across this article last night. http://www.rd.com/content/50-habits-...thin-people/0/ Some of these tips are kind of goofy, but it got me thinking about what I do during the day. Number 13 was especially interesting--it says that heavy people sit 2 1/2 hours more each day than thin people. So my plan for this week is to figure out ways to move around more during normal activities. |
Thanks for the link Seasoning! I for one appreciate it!
Well, I had a super relaxing three days in Delaware. I worked out on Thursday before the trip and then had three blissful days off where I had more than my allowed calorie intake and just don't want to step on that scale. I was 116.5 post work out on Thursday morning so I'm going to take that but...we'll see what the evil scale says this coming Thursday. Nice to be back girls! |
Well, I'm not weighing in until tomorrow. I was up 3 lbs last week (water?TOM?), and we were on a mini-vacation/back to school shopping trip to MI this weekend. I had some really great moments....ordering a kids meal at McD's, having a turkey sandwich instead of something heavier, and passing on the desserts, but has anyone ever been to "Famous Dave's"??? That was my downfall!! BBQ ribs/chicken, brisket, chili (no dessert though) and we ate around 8:00pm.
So, I went for a really good walk/jog last night, will work-out this morning, and another walk tonight before weighing in on Tuesday. Congrats to everyone who had a good week last week!! I don't know where I would be without everyone's inspiration and encouragement!! |
Hey everyone! Sorry no time for personals but I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm definitely putting the computer in the shop this weekend! I'm feeling so detached. :(
|
JasonsLea: it is always sad when a computer is hurt... I hope you have time to get it fixed really soon!
DEA: i've never been to famous dave's but i've heard about the deliciousness... my downfall this weekend was def. alcohol. I drank a lot of beer on friday and a lot of jager on sat. so i guess we all have our weak moments.. we just can't let them defeat us! lekhika: Delaware!!! That sounds awesome... i'm missing the east coast TONS right now. I'm jelous you got some nice relaxing days over there... seasoning: I read that article about the 50 tips... i'm a sucker for all those tips and pointer articles... i just love reading them... especially if there is something on there i'm already doing...cause then it's like a little ego boost, like go me.. doing something right :) you were right tho, some of them are a little silly... fullsteam: HEY!!! yea, life has been too crazy to really focus on me and my health... moving changing jobs trying to make new friends...but i finally got myself settled down and joined the gym last week... i'm really excited about that cause i love all the aerobics and spinning classes... also, i'm going to do a rowing marathon in Louisianna in November! 26 miles of rowing! 3 and a half hours! i'm pretty excited cause i've never done anything like that... and it'll keep me motivated to workout! ALL: Hope everyone's monday are starting off well! Have a great day and kick some butt this week |
Ugh, i'm back up 2lbs. I'm hoping it might be because i'm still expectig TOM, but I think it's probably due to my last 4 days of vacation. No exercise + bad eating habits=bad nora. But now i'm back to work, still with a cold but I'm ready to get myself back in gear. I'm also going to purchase Turbo Jam later this week. I'm particularly sad that my goal of 135 by this month is now seeming somewhat unrealistic, but if I can manage to get into the 130's at all i'll be extremely happy. It's nice to hear how everyones doing. Keep up the good work!

Good God in heaven I'm up again! I mean honestly, I'm tracking the calories and doing a lot better than when I started (it's amazing how many calories you can pack in while in complete and total denial!). Made sure I drank twice as much water over the weekend as usual. I'm exercising like some sort of mad dog. And the inseam on my jeans is leaving a blessed IMPRESSION on my skin today! Good grief. I know, I KNOW I'm on a better track than I was before I started.
Maybe the road trip will provide just enough of a diversion that progress can happen without my obessing about it. A cooler is a definite, I plan on loading up with water, yogurt and these lovely vegi packages from the grocery. It's maximum frustration packed into one overwhelming issue. |
Wow it must be in the atmosphere, this is usually my time to start losing. Right after TOM for 2.5-3 weeks I lose, I have been as low as 188 and as hight as 192! Right now I am sitting at 190.5 coming back down again, for like the 3rd time since I last checked in. Which of course is why I haven't posted lately, sigh good to know I am not alone I will just keep on trying and hope you all do the same. A little halt in my progress now will not make me stop!! I will go until I am where I want to be and happy with my body and health!
Thanks for everyone being here the support keeps me going, I would have stopped trying before this for sure with out the challenges and people to talk to. I start working nights at Starbucks this week ( I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom ) so it should be interesting to see if being on my feet an extra 20-30 hours per week makes any difference. |

I love the east coast as well and though I do love it I long for a change sometiems...I think if I could choose where to move I would choose San Francisco... and I took the leap and posted progress pics..... http://i11.tinypic.com/6f4t5qw.jpg That's my son I cut off! |
Wow you look great, huge differance in the face! You also look younger and happier in the second one! Looks like you are in the home stretch good work on all your progress.
|
awesome pics Lekhika!

Lekhika! You look so good! And yes, your face is much thinner. I bet shopping is a lot more fun now.

Sorry to hear so many of us are in a weight loss slump...I have been too..Which is the reason I haven't really checked in lately. I always feel guilty when I have been a bad girl LOL. Soooo I am finally back on track, and ready to kick this thing into gear. 187 is my goal for the month, but I will settle for anything under 190 LOL. 189.9 would be grand!

I watched a weight loss show last night....where they give a person an expert trainer and six months to get in better shape. The episode highlighted a married couple who both had weight to loose.....the husband lost 63 lbs and the wife lost 66 lbs. Thats 11 lbs a month for six months!!! I was really inspired by her determination...kind of "if she can do it, so can I" thinking.
She looked so amazing at the end of the show.....also thanks to a makeup/hair make-over. I CAN DO THIS!!!! |
