The CRAVINGS thread
I have been craving the same thing since I started my diet on June 21: DOUGHNUTS. A specific type: This cream cheese filled doughnut from the local bakery, which is conveniently open 24 hours a day.
So far, I have resisted. Although, I have often wondered if I could pull off eating just 2 of those doughnuts and NOTHING ELSE for dinner!
I'm going to try to hold out until my birthday in October...can I make it?
What have you been craving? How do you resist?

I'm crazy about almost everything dairy queen shows in their commercials! Those blizzards KILL me!
The new one, with cheesecake, caramel AND chocolate?!?!?!??!
How do I resist? I don't go to dairy queen EVER!
I try to have low calorie, healthy stuff around to deal with my terrible sweet teeth ( not "sweet tooth", sweet TEETH)
Like: sugar free, fat free chocolate pudding and fudgesicles (sp?)
Another thing that works well for my sweet teeth is to mix cottage cheese with some cocoa and splenda. I then use my hand mixer thingey to make it smooth. YUM.
The best way, for me, to avoid my cravings is to distract myself until bedtime. I've never had a craving survive my sleep!

I am fortunate that, unlike my dear wife, I do not usually crave sweets.
My cravings are more like:
Chinese food
Thai food
Barbeque
Steak
And some of these things aren't necessarily bad for me. If someone eats a nice 8oz lean steak it can be quite healthy actually.
But I have trouble doing that, I always want a 16oz well marbled ribeye.
I have not yet devised a very successful way of dealing with these cravings.

UGH. My co-worker, whose last day is today, just brought in a platter of CANDY--those Nestle Turtle things, cinnamon bears, salt water taffy....and it is sitting on the desk RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Not fair.

Crepes. I make the best crepes. Crepes with chicken in white wine sauce. Mushroom crepes. I can eat about 20 of the darned things. They've gotta be about 500 calories each.

Used to be chinese food...but then I cooked an all chinese meal for Christmas, and well...I was disgusted at how much sugar and starch and oil I ended up using. Grosses me out now.
I crave any combination of carbs, tomatoes and cheese.
