Bunnababy, yes, please do post the jello recipe. The reason I am going to avoid SF jello in the next 2 weeks is that it is sweetened with Aspartame, which has been stated in Atkins book that might stall weight loss in some people. I thought since my losses has been very small maybe I too am effected by Aspartame, so I thought I should avoid anything that has been sweetened with anything other than Splenda for the next two weeks and see how I lose.

I'd be interested in a long-term challenge -- I think I do better with those. Halloween sounds good, along with 25 pounds gone!!

1 envelope Knox Gelatine
1 small package of UNSWEETENED Kool-Aid
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup DaVinci coffee syrup (this is sweetened with Splenda)

0 carbs

In a bowl combine the Gelatine and the Kool-Aid and add boiling water and stir until dissolved. Put Syrup into cold water to make a cup, then add and chill.

Top with whipped cream. Put your own flavor combinations together.

My favorite topping for this is
4 oz cream cheese softened
1 cup heavy cream whipped
3 packets Splenda to taste

Mix ingredients together to make thick topping, spread over "set" jello (double the recipe above) Carbs vary by thickness of spreading. But if evenly spread the jello will serve 12, so this would give about 1.2 carbs per serving.

I too cannot have the aspartame, it totally does me in. Enjoy!

It's SO hard to start over with TOM here!!!! I did well until my family decided to eat ice cream! I wanted some SOOOO bad!!! But on THAT I held off. I did eat a LC candy bar though. Dang I suck at induction!!!!! I doubt I'll get back to that point. Just hopefully I get back to losing weight though!!

Frodo, its NEVER to late
For a taco salad, I just brown some ground beef and throw in a table spoon of taco seasoning (watch the carbs, read the pkg), then I mix the seasoned cooked meat w/sour cream while its still warm.....oh yeah babe'.... toss in some lettuce, a sprinkle of cheese, some chopped up grape tomatoes (oooh lor-day) olives, cucumbers, anything you like. Remember measure measure measure (for the carb count). My hubby who hates taco's ( I KNOW I KNOW ) even eats this salad and my sisters who are not low carbing LOVE IT!!!.

Brenda, good for you, you passed the first test, besides that nasty ol ice cream would have made you feel like ka ka after words. Bravo, job well done.

Frodo, great to hear from you, ooooooooVegas babay I love Vegas!!

I usually just brown my ground beef (or you can use ground turkey or pork) and after it is browned I put in salsa, and mix it until warm, I thought those season packets had too many carbs it was like 16 servings at 1 carb each or something. But the salsa has the same effect and works great! JUst 2 cents for you! hahahaha

Bunnababy, thank you. I will give it a try tonight. Actually I just discovered DaVinci. I have both the raspberry and caramel flavors, I got them from TJMax. I was so happy that I could buy them and didn't have to order and wait for them to arrive.

Just another word on the DaVinci Syrups, if any of you live in an area where there are Cash & Carry stores (a restaurant supply house) the syrups are about half of what you would pay elsewhere. Anyone can shop there you just have to pay cash or credit card.

I am off to do some shopping for the restaurant (Italian) Chicken Bearnaise is lc, Chicken Marsala, we do alfredo sauce with chicken and put in vegies rather than pasta, we do crustless pizza which I prefer to lc crust cuz we do it soooooo good. Yeah babe! My favorite when I am craving spaghetti is meatballs with marinara sauce and run through the oven with cheese on top. My biggest challenge is Chinese cuz I love it but you almost have to know the owner to get lc plus I don't eat MSG.

I did pretty good but I did snack on a couple of Russell Stover raspberry candies, yes sf. I don't think I will ever do Induction perfectly but I do a lot better than when I am not trying to do Induction.

Tomorrow I am going back to the gym as the lc has the pain under control and I am feeling more energy already. I would go today but the shopping put a halt to that.

I hope you enjoy the jello.

thanks guys,
Yeah i noticed how many carbs were in the seasoning.. upsetting. I thought tomatoes had a lot of carbs because it is a fruit? Or am I wrong? How much salsa can I put in there?

Frodo, I eat 8 - 10 depending on size, grape tomatoes, there's 5 gm carbs. Lots of times I'll chop up a few to make them go longer. I love tomatoes and can't see living life w/out just a little bit, and it makes the salads soooooooooo tasty.
