Good Morning!!! My Thursday weigh day is sooo happy! I'm down three! Wahoo, wahoo, wahoo! (Please keep in mind the scale hasn't moved for a few weeks now.) One more - WAHOO!!! I feel like people should be doing the wave...
Whew! It's been a roller coaster for me, down a pound, up three and then down finally for a total of two pounds in almost three weeks.
But during that 3 weeks I definitely felt the clothes getting looser, I had to just grin and bear it on the scales!
Yikes 3.09 lbs a week to lose to make goal.. Can it be done? Yes.. Will it be done? That remains to be seen. I probably wont make it, but I'm going to get as close as I can. Come on woosh!!
Not going to make it my friends! I am just not losing this month. Too many ups and downs. I will keep on trying and any loss will be good I guess.
I'm in the same boat. I can't get rid of the pound I gained from Mothers' Day. What a present huh?? That'll teach me to pig out!! No wonder I was always fat...never realised how many carbs I ingested in one day before! Yowsa!!
I had kind of gotten off track for a week or so...went to the club and had a drink, ate some chinese, etc.... But, I have been back on track since Monday and I am back down to what I had weighed before, 215. So, only 5 pounds to go to meet my End of May challenge! I am glad to be back on the diet too, because I really started feeling crappy when I ate all those old foods again...
Hi I am new to the atkins diet. But I was on it 30 yrs ago, and things have changed, Why do you only count the net carbs and do you still lose as fast as you in the first two weeks counting the net carbs only ,instead of all the carbs like I use to do when I was on it? Someone please help me.
My name stirfried, and I have already lost 10 lbs on the atkins diet but then I have counted all the carbs not just the net carbs. All I want to know is does it work as well by just counting the net carbs instead of all the carbs?

You take the total carb and subract the fiber to come up with the net carbs.

So I just subtract the fiber carbs and thats it? How fast do you lose the weight. I have seen at the stores like atkins chocolate bars or somrthing and it says its only 2 net carbs, wouldn't eating something like that defeat the purpose, I mean there are still all the sugar carbs no one is thinking about. I guess you still have to be careful of what you eat even if it says only 2 net carbs and the other carbs add up to 15 carbs. As long as I can still lose weight. I want to know how much weight you lose in a week and what kinds of things do you eat? Can I have the low carb bread with just adding the net carbs, as long as they don't go over 20-25 carbs aday?

Some of use lose a little easier than others so it is hard to say how much you will lose in a week.
Take the total carbs for example 12 grams of carbs and subtract the total fiber for example 6 grams of fiber. The total net carbs that you count will be 6.
