A 300 cal or so deficit for me yesterday. Better still ... I actually woke up this morning without a headache and went for a nice early walk!

I still haven't done Fitday this week, I promise I'll start today. But I have been doing very well and think I'm down another lb. now but I WI on Mondays.

Still so hot & humid here in Florida, I walk a little with my Doberman when the sun goes down but I am still doing a few miles/wk with my walking DVD....I need to up that.

But a steady 1 lb./wk loss is OK with me, hopefully it will stay off this time.

Phyllis (off to Fitday!!!!)

Day behind here, deficit of 0 the day before yesterday and a much better 592 deficit yesterday. Trying to kick my sugar addiction habits, real test will be the weekend. Made very healthy chicken fajita thing yesterday, might make some more tonight (I guess I am a creature of habit). Work has been tough this week, I don't think it's responsible for my bad eating but it hasn't helped my attitude. Hopefully things here will improve next week, I am so happy it is the weekend after today.

I met a gal on another board who seriously eats almost the same things day after day after day. She says she doesn't really get bored and if she does, she just thinks of something new.
BTW ... she's 109 lbs and lifts weights!

Ok, some one explain, calorie deficient?? What is this?? How are you figuring it out? I want an explanation. I use fitday also, but I just track calories, excercise, V&M. What is it with this calorie deficiency?? I want to know.

I've been still having a hard time. I averaged 1900 calories a day for the last week. It's no wonder I'm not loosing any weight even with all the working out I'm doing.

At least I'm keeping up with journaling and I know what I'm eating. And at the least I'm not gaining. But I do need to get my calories down!

Hi Tiffany! A deficit is the difference between the calories you eat and the calories you use. If you use 2000 cals a day but only eat 1500, you have a deficit of 500.

It's pretty difficult to get a certain handle on your usage. You pretty much have to tweak and fiddle with the numbers. But we can try to work backwards for you. How long has it taken you to lose your 47 lbs.
Btw ... that's awesome!!!

May 1st. I know I have been losing an average of about 3lbs a week. I was just wondering with this deficiency if you are basing it on over all calories burned or just basal. My basal is 1763 and I eat anywhere from 900-1300 calories per day. So according to the 3500 = 1 lb equation, the I would be eating too much to lose that amount of weight. I just wanted to see how you girls were figuring it. Now that I have reached the "over half" point, I want to step up my workouts and build a little more muscle to get toned. I just wanted a little extra information on your math and what factors you use.

Thanks

Thanks Tiffany, I love more numbers to fiddle with ... hmmm then according to the scientific -icity of it .... you have a deficit of 10500 cals a week or 1500 a day. That does seem like lots, doesn't it.
Or does it? You move through life, exercise etc. That's a total usage of between 2400 and 2800, right? Some folks say 11 times your weight. Could be ... actually, yes, I agree with that.

I had about a 300 cal deficit yesterday which is OK since we we're 'scoot out and buy a little something to eat' people

I'm off to bed with about an 800 cal deficit today. I'm sooo tired I don't know if I could tell if I'm hungry or not. Better be careful tomorrow.
How's the weekend been?

Week-end was ok calorie wise...but yesterday I had too many salty foods and extra salt added with fresh veggies (like green onions, radishes, etc) that I love salt with.

Will down the water today and watch the salt for sure. Salt is something I try to avoid but I have to admit it tasted good for a change. Back on track today.
