I use Nutridiary and found it very good - although you're right, there is no link where someone else can view your entries.

TOPS stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. They do have their own eating plan that is based on the food exchanges. I borrowed the Chapter's book to look through this week. Thankfully it is up-to-date (2005) and very informative. Granted, it isn't anything NEW.. but there are some neat tips, etc.

I had a deficit of 700 yesterday...Its been a good week and I hope to see a good weigh-in tomorrow....How is everyone else doing?

i looked at the nutridiary ..It looks more confusing to use....I think I will stick to fitday

Lois - great job on the 4lbs.

Kimberly - Thanks for the article

Nori71 01-22-2006 05:00 PM

Nutridiary was more confusing at first I think just because I was used to FD - but now it's easier. I like it because you can save "meals" and not have to itemize everything if you repeat an exact same meal - which I often do! Both of them are just fine though.

BTW, Donna - congrats on your great weight loss!!!

Robsia 01-22-2006 05:13 PM

Oh gosh - it'd be awful if you couldn't save meals. I tend to eat the same things regularly and the meal thing is a godsend. Can you input your own foods on Fitday as well?

I really like Nutridiary and I have it all set up exactly the way I like it - but then I have never used Fitday so I can't compare.

Nori71 01-22-2006 05:30 PM

Yes you can save your own foods - but it only keeps hte ones you use most oftenin a convenient palce and after that you have to search another way. Just takes a little longer. But YES you can save your custom foods. Just not meals. Plus I like how ND figures your weightloss goals and time frames into the calories that it automatically deficits for you. (It adds together your basal metabolic + General (lifestyle) activities + extra activities (exercise) - your weight loss goal calories = Your Daily Intake Quota.)

Sweetpea
TOPS means Take Off Pounds Sensibly

Kimberly My mom goes to TOPS it can get funny with her group......each week the 'winner' can get all sorts of stuff........mom always brings a healthy contribution........but some of the women are almost sadistic.......they bring chocolates/cookies and all sorts of other sweets. Mom likes it because of the weigh in. She only pays $2/week........I guess it's good for her. She has lost over 60lbs.......she is hitting 68 this year and I swear she is more active now than when I was a kid!

Hey all,

How is everyone's day going? Mine is going okay. I did not get my workout in early this morning but I did get it in before noon... just did not want to drag my butt out of bed.

I have found when using the calendar view on FitDay (pc) that it not only can calculate your daily deficits it also gives you a weeks end dailly average. My deficits are HUGE. I know it's because I have so much to lose but geez they are HUGE
Last week my dialy averages were around 1570 with ranges from about 1200 to as much as 2000. I suppose when I get to a normal weight I'll have normal deficits. This explains my loss of 4 lbs. last week, huh? I added up my deficits for the week and divided them by 3500 and the answer was pretty close. It gave me 3.15 so it was off by .85 that's pretty close. I don't log in each and every activity, only exercise, Interesting!

Some days I don't get enough calories in but it's getting better.

Here is another calendar view, I know it needs lots of work, especially my fg :dizzy: :

My Calorie Break Down

1dayatatime 01-23-2006 05:34 PM

I didn't count over the weekend. Friday evening I started feeling yucky with the flu and am just now feeling better. I've attempted to post a couple of times (when I could sit up long enough) but I couldn't get my mind to think straight most times.

I got my new bellydance workout video from amazon last week and had planned on starting that today BUT pushing the grocery cart took every bit of energy I had. Plus, I'm really worried if I overwhelm myself to quickly I will find myself back in the bed. So now my new start workout date is tomorrow.

Wish me luck. :)

1dayatatime 01-24-2006 07:54 AM

My deficit yesterday was 527. :)

srmb60 01-24-2006 08:29 AM

I did not have a deficit yesterday!

Hey Lois! .... the more you fool with fitday.com the more you find it can do for you. I really like it. (even if it gave me the cruel truth this morning:)
