Thanks Susan...i will work on it and see what happens....Where do you buy protein powder and what is a good brand...Also how do you use it? ...as a drink for do you use it in cooking? ....Sorry for all the questions but this is all new to me....
I still like to eat the desert baby foods but never tried the vegies..you have to tell us how it was.. |
I only had a 90 calories deficit yesterday. Considering how awkward it is to measure peanutbutter and honey  I'm not sure I even had that. If I was going to go back and change anything, it would probably be to add more cardio.
Donna ... I love questions ... as you have seen .... I just love to talk :comp: I use soy protein isolate from a bulk food store. I also have whey protein powder from the same place. Everything else is just too expensive for our socio-economic strata (is there a smiley for lower middle income taxpayer?) I put it in with fruit and water for a shake. You can also just add bits all throughout the day in oatmeal, yogurt, salad dressing, meatloaf or meatballs ... you name it. A tablespoon or so doesn't change the taste of what you are adding it to. I put left over turkey in a bowl and warmed it in the mike. I then added the squash and warmed it some more. I did add salt and pepper. It kinda made a gravey substitute, ya know? I suppose it would work like that for any of the vegetables. I enjoyed it and I felt good adding another kind of vegetable to my food plan. The desserts might be OK because the manufacturers are more cautious about how much crap they put in baby food. That and you'll have one neat and tidy little serving. I hope I've helped. Never fear asking questions! |
Yesterday I had a 777 calories deficit of which I am very proud.
Today I work evenings so I'll have to guard against the nurses nibbles later on! I'll be extra good before I go ;) |
Inspite of not guarding against the nurses nibbles (read here cookies and choclate) I still had a deficit of over 700 calories. We were busy!
I'm tired this morning! But I should be able to do legs before I go back to work at 3. |
:cb: for susanB!!!

Thanks Gina, I'm off to work again. Everyone be good!

You go Christine! I regret that my tracker doesn't do half pounds too. Sometimes that little bit of a loss can be very encouraging.
I had a deficit of almost 400 calories yesterday. It should have been bigger but this box of chocolates was calling me .... |

I had the drop I was looking for!
I know I've been good. I know I've been exercising. The time was coming and this morning I got my swoosh! A couple of pounds gone like magic. One of the most important things I've learned, here at 3fc, is that the truly successful long term losers and maintainers know their bodies. They understand their water fluctuations, food requirements and so on. Over time, I've worked at getting this knowledge logically in my head .... and by golly, i think I've got it. I knew this drop was coming. I didn't get discouraged when it took some time. I knew what was coming. My fat-headed advice for the day. Learn all you can about how YOUR body works. Oh and I had an 800 cal defict yesterday. |
Hi Susan and everyone,
I did so well over the holidays and after too, but the last 2 days I could eat the paint off of the walls. Been craving carbs and sugar. That hasn't happened for a long time. The only thing I can think of that I have done different is...I haven't been keeping my food journal like I should and I'm lacking in the water drinking department. I'm hoping that posting will give me the kick in the butt that I need to get back on track. How do you get the defict on your calorie counts. I'm doing Fitday or trying to. I haven't got it all figured out yet. Thanks for listening. TJ |
I just take the number of calories burned and subtract what I've eaten to get a deficit. I can't be hanging around here tonight. I'll type at you all tomorrow!
|
Wow I feel great....today was the first day that I have ever got up early and did exercise before going to work....I can't beleive how energized and alive I felt all day...I got up and did the biggest loser dvd....I am going to try to get in 30 mins on the bike tonight...
I had a deficit of 753 yesterday... Susan - Great job...wow 3lbs down from yesterday...Glad your scale is moving....We both become losers the same week....Also do you weight everyday..I notice on your fitday that your weight looks like you update it daily...I told myself I was only going to weight once a week but I just can't stand it...I have to weight everyday...to me it's like if I went down then I did something right and if I went up I did something wrong and I try to look over what I ate that was bad.. |
I had a 1000 calorie deficit yesterday which surprises me because I hardly did any cardio. But I was busy and didn't eat enough. I'll do better today.
TJ .... a couple of bad days won't ruin everything. For me the trick is getting back on track if I let those days turn into weeks (or months!) Get back at your jouranaling and come back and see us! Donna .... there are a couple of factors involved in why I weigh everyday. One, I'm a computer addict. I love it! I'm actually a pretty detaily person. I think that's why calorie counting appeals to me. I've been at this for a few years now and I find that Knowledge is one of the important keys, particularly knowledge of your own body. If I weigh everyday, I learn the ins and outs of water weight, the impact of salt etc. I find it much easier to address small problems than big ones. And some daily changes are natural and remedy themselves. If I weighed only once a week and there was an increase, I would drive myself nuts examining the entire week to find out what I did. If I have an increase one morning there is very little 'data' to go through to find the glitch. Did that make sense? Weighing everyday is not for everyone, but I like it. You just have to make sure you remove any variables. Get up, strip, void and step on the scale. Do not go back until you get up the next morning. |
