Thank you Ready, But starting to struggle with all this meat, My apples are waving at me lol. Don't know, see how the rest of the day goes. Think I well make me some yogurt. It may be due to the dancing workout, or I'm trying to talk myself out of staying on it. I am my worst enemy.

I took a little nap feel better drinking coffee w/ff milk filling. I think being tired causes cravings and hunger too. If I struggle tomorrow then will or may give this a re-think. Which sucks because I do feel better, not holding water, clear head. Even tho his diet is not for life, It's till august.

Will re-read the book and maybe adding fruit early. I have kept the calories low so If I go back to calorie counting I would get a temp rebound in water.

Ok re reading the book and found this

Quote:
So the
actual secret of the program’s First two weight loss phases is to eat a
lot, even to eat in anticipation, before the hunger pangs take over.
Hunger that turns into an uncontrollable craving that can no longer
be appeased by pure proteins leads the careless dieter toward
comfort foods with little nutritional value—sugary, creamy, rich,
and destabilizing foods that nevertheless have a strong emotional
power.
I did not eat until after 1:00pm today and hopefully the reason for this urge to eat. So tomorrow will make sure I eat something early.

Starting day 4 attack (dukan)

Wow made it through yesterday. I really thought I was going to cave. Then I would have felt guilty as **** about it. But going forward. Slept a little better last night got up once.

I will make sure I eat after I work out this morning. I have been keeping a food log (little note book) that is why I'm not posting food. Since it is only lean meat, ff dairy and 2 eggs a day.

Just did my workout, and I had to push to get through it, energy is on the bottom. So I guess this means I have used up all the carbs in the old body. Plus my mouth has been dry.

Dying my hair to cover the gray and hopefully boost the spirit some lol

KK weighed my self this morning

day 1...5/16/11.....177.8
day 2...5/17/11.....175.6 water weight coming off -2.2
day 3...5/18/11.....175 on the nose -2.8
day 4...5/19/11.....175 no change

Hi Surfnmom! I've been reading through your thread -- so this Dukan thing...do you count calories along with it or is it just lower carb?

Hi Emme Dukan is a lower carb but different. He stresses not to count anything which is great here are a few links that well tell you more.

http://www.dukandiet.co.uk/ his site to get your true weight and plan its free, but they do offer coaching, which alot of people say it stinks.

http://www.dukandiet.co.uk/ dukan forum

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...loss-plan.html More info, about doing the diet

I like it but Staying Lc has always been hard. Knowing that you do the meat dairy and eggs for a few days to 10 max depending on how much you need to loss. then you add veggies and do this till he says, then you add more, then all foods. Its pretty cool and different. I love the book. And all is in a time frame no guess when you should add stuff in.

Well got my blood test results and everything is great but the vitamin D which is rock bottom. So well need to do prescription D to get it up. I kinda figured it. All in all good news.

Well last night I broke the diet and had about 600 calories of carbie food, but not a major worried about it. I didn't binge eat, and I haven't been binge eating the whole week. Yep the water weight may come back but I knew that at the begining this might happen.

Reading all the boards about loosing cravings and not being hungry just didn't happen with me. I still love the book and the diet, and it looks like it is helping a lot of people drop the weight.

Well today will be watching the calories and continue with the lean choices of meat.

weighed my self this morning

day 1...5/16/11.....177.8
day 2...5/17/11.....175.6 water weight coming off -2.2
day 3...5/18/11.....175 on the nose -2.8
day 4...5/19/11.....175 no change
weight at the end 5/20/11..........175.8 ....-2 total

Back to weighing once a week
Having the bathroom issues (2 days no go) That this diet does cause, pretty sure the gain is from that. So well get some veggies in me and hopefully get back to normal.

Will be starting the prescription vitamin D tonight and well see if that helps. Since I am severely deficient in it, it could be the cause of all the crap I have been going through. So it should help and I well post any changes that I feel while taking it. After 12 weeks Doc wants my blood test done again. so will post that also when I do that. Looked it up on line total bummer, Who knew that D was so important. And I think this is the first time I have been tested for it and only because of my age. So Anyone due for their yearly Doctors visit get them to do the test, better to be safe. Lacking it can cause you all kinds of bad stuff, Google it.

Alrighty chattered enough this morning, Feeling more energy then yesterday And playing golf later so I hope I don't poop out lol.

Oh another plus from this diet.....
I can go without sugar all the time, and doing this help get the control back.
I am drinking a lot more water, better then the diet soda.
don't have the brain fog.

It is really nice to say even though I could not stick to this diet, I don't feel like a total failure, because I actually ate good and clean. So it would be a good starting off point to any diet.

Low vit d can cause a lot of issues. Glad you figured it out. I'd also recommend trying to get 10 mins of sun (no sunscreen) a day to help naturally raise them!

Had a good day yesterday, ate good, played golf and started my D vitamins (on the once a week pill for 12 weeks) I am really excited that this may have been at the root of my problems. Only time will tell.

Today plan on doing the same, but picking a healthier carb if I eat one later, looking at my numbers the bad cholesterol was up a bit so that shows me to much processed foods and red meat. So would like to see if I can get that down in 3 months when I get tested next time.

Just working things out one day at a time and trying not to get obsessive over eating.

Another number that is a little high is salt, So cutting back on that, plus I read that salt can make you hungry/crave. So just another little change, and again will see if it makes a difference.

A new Month thank goodness. Back to alternating days. low cal then higher cal. This seems to work. Managed to stay the same. So if I ever get to maintenance then should have no problem lol, Since I have basically stayed the same for 5 months.
Staying off the scale this time, that is a diet breaker for me always has been. I will weigh at the end of the month. Which means I need to stay on the same plan for the whole month. I am tired of diet hoping, thinking about diets, reading about diets, and just anything diet. I need to get a life lol. Working out my calorie average. What ever I do on low cal days affects how many calories I get on the high day. Did pretty good on it way back in the beginning of this thread.
Sf jello is going to be my friend on low days. Plus I like it.

Teaching my self wood carving keeps my hands busy. Love the antique wooden dolls so I am aiming to start making reproductions done the road. Pretty neat.

KK going to work on what other food to have on low days and hit the store.
well drop back by later.

KK went ahead and got on the scale this morning since I have been avoiding it these past few week. 178.8 needed a starting point. I really thought I had gained more then that, so I am starting this on a much more positive note

So my first goal well be 168 at the end of the month. My next weigh in is July 1st. So need to stay on the path and not worry about it. JUST DO IT.

Hello all, another day in the life of a serial dieter lol
Yesterday went well and was surprised to go pretty much all day with little food and not really hungry.
Today I am going higher in the cal dept.

Read Berry Groves "Eat fat Get Thin" another good book with even a better Lc plan, 50-60 carbs more fat less protein. Natural way of eating.

My husband started insulin a few weeks ago so have been slowly weeding out the crap in the house. He, after having to check his blood and now shots has come around to eating better. So Lc would pretty much work for both of us now. So I could still have fruit and the fatty meat I love and cream in the coffee, and life would be good. lol It would be nice to find a lc plan I could stick with as I have always said I do love Lc but can't stick with it.

So while I am alternating High calorie and low calorie days would like to slowly get in the habit of changing to more of a Lc lifestyle that is not as drastic as Atkins and Dukan.

Groves, also doesn't believe in fake Lc or diabetic foods, Buy real food. And 1 fruit and a few veggies is good enough also If you really want a certain food have it and since your not striving to get in to ketosis its not a big issue. Nothing is blown. Start changing stuff and don't try to do it over not cause it put to much stress on the body getting rid of all the carbs at once.

I tell you what as much as I liked Dukan diet, eating dry lean meat was a turn off for me. Also it did cause bathroom issues that I have never had doing Lc. Having the added fat (which the body needs) helps in that area.

Today I have had small serving of fatty pork roast a couple carrots and now coffee with cream and coconut oil in it and have felt satisfied all day. No sugar crashes. It is really hard to OD on fatty meat. A small amount goes along way. Tonight cooking fish nothing big.

Alrighty Have a great night who ever reads this. So many nice people on this board.

Yesterday went very good. Finished my day with a ice cream drumstick that had 29 carbs. so had a total of about 40 carbs.

Today will stay really low cal not hungry at all. may have two mini fatty meals later. My time to eat really hits after 3pm till about 10pm. But will play it by ear today when I get hungry will eat.

Mowing my lawn today and it is already hot out side. this has been some really crazy weather this year. That will be my exercise for the day. Trying to move around more, but have no plans to kill myself working out. I still like dancing around the house. lol

Looked back to old logs I had, eating the hf way years ago, I really maxed out tops at 1600 calories one day. Even tho you are upping the fat you just really don't eat a lot. The reason I stopped doing the hf thing is from reading other diets and how eating fat will kill you. God I am really tired of all the experts that just want to sell a book or product. I'm just going to do it. My body is so screwed up from all this crap. So not reading any more this or that. I have also notice if you go to a forum of the new diet in style people loose the weight in the first couple weeks then start to gain and then get depressed and so on. It all seems to end with the same result. Been there done that so many times lol.

Well I am kinda doing my own thing mixing up a couple plans that have worked for me.

Think the vitamin D is kicking in. Waking up perkier and clear minded. also wanting to do more (like mow the lawn) Looking forward to doing stuff. So have no complaints and well see how it goes.

back later

Been trucking along, but had to reduce fat intake as it is going right through me literally. Not a good thing.
For the next few days will be eating little bits to get my system back to normal. Funny high what you did years ago (diet wise) doesn't agree with the older body.
Well continue alternating calorie days and pick natural foods over the processed stuff.
