I had a great day yesterday. It's my free eating day and I enjoyed every bite of food, the macaroni and cheese in particular. Yummy. Today I'm back on track counting calories and hopefully getting in my exercise.

I've been on my feet for a few hours though so I'm tired. I was making veggie meatballs for DS's wedding. I made about 250 today so in total I have 397 "meatballs" in the freezer. I also managed to burn both arms reaching into the deep fryer. I did it 3 times so I'm beginning to think I'm a very slow learner. The burns are not bad but I have 3 red patches on my arms. They'll probably be all gone by tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. I usually bake my meatballs but it was so much faster, doing so many, to deep fry them. My house smells like a greasy spoon diner.

Last night I finished all the little favor bags so they are just waiting for the cookies to be put in a day or 2 before the wedding. I'm slowly marking off items on my "To Do Wedding List." I also decorated the comb for the veil. Someday before the wedding I'll take pictures and let you all see what I've been up to all winter and spring.

I've got cakes to bake this afternoon for mom's 92nd birthday in a couple of weeks. I usually do a plain or chocolate cake but this year I decided to make a peach fruit cake that mom likes and then my sister put in a request for a cherry pound cake (her favorite). As she'll be here for the weekend, I'm making that one too. But first I have to clean up the kitchen from the meatball marathon.

Take care and try and stay on plan.

PS: Thanks for the congrats on losing the 1.5. That's a lot at my age.

Hi there Isabella!
397 meatballs....what a chore! I just came off the low carb diet...and I can relate to the greasy spoon smell....the frying of the meat and the splatter, ugh... too much. I've been eating low-fat for so long, that it kind of grossed me out.
Oh....a wedding...how nice...a time when the family can gather and celebrate!
And 92nd birthday for mom...you come from a healthy gene pool :-) The cakes sound yummy...enjoy.
A little about me. I live in Texas. My husband is working in Iraq...so it's just me and the cats. He'll be home for 3 weeks next month, so I would love to take off 5 lbs. before then.
I'm 51 years old and a full-time student. I'm studying to be a dental assistant. Wished I would of done it 30 years ago :-)
I'm glad to be here!

Moved my today's post over here

Good Morning Ladies

Still not going to church, gee!! is been a month since I been there. Some people will think I moved away. Going to call the doctor and find out if he heard any of the results from the MRI yet. This ankle is not getting any better, and the anti inflammatory drugs are not helping with the pain either.

VEGAS-I'm going to use the laundry bag system until my ankle gets better. It was fun tossing the bags from the upstairs loft to the living room and than tossing them into the basement. The next time I''ll have DH bring them up.No I haven't heard anything about the MRI I going to call the doctor tomorrow. I'm not the good cook either. I follow cookbooks recipes, especially the ones that cook meals in 30 mins.

BIG CONGRATS on our 1 lb loss that's wonderful, your 2 lbs ahead of me.Have a good time at your baby's first BBQ birthday.

RETIRE-Congrats on your 1.5 weight loss. Hope I can say that at my Mon W-I.
Quote:
my "older" friends have moved their laundry room upstairs to a spare bedroom.
I thought of that a friend of mine has her washer & dryer up stairs in the spare room. But she told me that I have to have a main water pipe running on the out side wall,we have the water pipes in between the kitchen and bath,so that's not a possibility. Thanks for the idea & thinking of me.

Hope you mom has a better night so you can get some sleep also.

PRINNY-Thanks for explaining your schedule with me I now see and understand. Its hard when you have different schedules. I remember when my DH worked the night shift and I during the day.Do the best you can and that's all that's expected of you.

Just to let you know Beach, I wasn't referring to you as old. I think we're about the same age and I'm not old!!

Hi Kathy. Wow! Going to school full time is quite the task. Glad you're enjoying it. I'm sure you'll be able to get off 5 pounds or close to it by the time your DH arrives home.

I've got the peach fruit cake in the oven. It takes 3 hours to bake on 275 and there's just under an hour left on the timer. It looks and smells wonderful. I'll have a slice on mom's birthday. I'll switch my free food day to mom's birthday and have an enjoyable day. The worst thing is, my birthday is 5 days after mom's. I won't have a cake as there should be lots left over from mom's feast.

Must get busy and mix up the cherry pound cake so it will be ready to go in the oven when the fruit cake is done.

Catch you all tomorrow.

Not much to report. Rode the bike only 45 mins yesterday, but 45 is better than 0 I guess. It was 5AM before I got around to starting so I was just to tired to go longer.

Will be glad when TOM is over. I want to WI, then again I don't. I am worried about the fact I have been working out less.

Good Morning Ladies

W-I this morning and I maintained. Not worried as I had a bad month trying to nurse my bad ankle. Its a great possibility that I'm swelling up with water in that region. Here to next week.

RETIRE-Oh my goodness that was the furthest thing from my mind. Wish we had a option but we don't.We live is a very small townhouse and its great that I don't have to clean that much, but all my storage is in the basement with storage boxes of clothes to normal basement items, and every season I have to go down to get the correct clothing up,and bring the the winter ones down.

Have a great time at your mom's birthday and enjoy that peach cake. I was my mom's birthday present as I came into the world 5 mins before.

PRINNY-I hope that doctor will give me the ok to exercise a little instead of sitting on my butt. You're doing great,we all lose weight in our own time, don't get frustrated life goes on.

Have a great morning.

Yay! Good for you! My husband went back to school in his 40s and is now a certified Radiologic Technologist (fancy term for x-ray tech). He is so happy he did it! My daughter was a dental assistant -- she put herself through college doing that, and she had her pick of jobs. She now has her Ph.D. in immunology, but she could always go back to being a DA if she had to.

I am feeling so good -- have planned my meals out in advance for the week, and got up at 5:30 to exercise today. My husband and I are trying to make that our new habit.

Good morning ladies
When I weighed this morning I was down from 192.6 to 191.8. I know it is not much but it is a move in the right direction. I had a bad day yesterday I have PTSD and I had a series of panic attacks. Then I ended up with a migraine. Some better today. I hope you all have a great day

Hellew. Another busy day with wedding things. Today I finished the shower favors and photocopied pages for a little wedding coloring book I've put together for the little kids attending the wedding. Tomorrow I'm going to tackle the veil and finish sewing the chiffon ribbon trim and attach it to the comb. I've got a list of things I want to finish by the end of the week and I'm planning on getting everything done.

I think the reason I'm back on track with eating well and exercising is because I've finally got my menus planned for the month and printed out and put up on the frig. I did have a menu done for April but it was only handwritten and a bit sketchy. The end of April was more of a challenge when I decided not to buy any new groceries until I had eaten what was in the cupboards. That worked pretty good and forced me to stay with the menu (as there wasn't anything else to eat). I suppose I lived by a schedule for most of my life, first being a student and then 31 years of teaching, so that's how I function best. A creature of habit I am. This month Tuesdays are soup days so it's vegetable soup, sandwiches, fruit, cake and whipped topping for tomorrow. I love calorie counting because I can have a small piece of cake and not throw myself off plan. We eat dinner at lunch time and have a lighter supper. I only plan dinner and usually we have left-overs or a sandwich for supper.

Prinny, I know how it is to be too tired to exercise if I leave it too late. I never got on my bike until 10 pm last night and I didn't think I'd be able to do much. I lasted about half an hour. I usually don't exercise that late at night but I was determined to get in something yesterday.

Beach, hope that foot gets better. It's hard to concentrate on losing weight when you're in pain.

Thinfor5minutes, I'm right with you on planning meals out. I do so much better that way.

Scalewatcher, anything you lose is a loss. You're doing great.

Have a good day everyone. Catch you all later.

Hello ladies & Happy May!

Welcome to all the new chatter's and hope to see you all around in the future!

Retire - WOW, you are one busy woman! Im sure your son & DIL's wedding will be amazingly gorgeous! Its always nice to have a MIL who is supportive and sweet! When is the big day? I hope your mom has a wonderful birthday & you have a nice visit with your sister! I agree on 2 things you said: 1. Living on a schedule (Im very anal and need everything on a schedule, including my darling kiddos) & 2. I LOVE calorie counting because it leaves room for a tiny bit of cake or what not!

Beach - Any Dr results? Im glad the new laundry method worked out well for you, and CONGRATS on maintaining, thats so wonderful! Seems like you & I will be saying goodbye for good to those 160's in no time.

Prinny - Your TOM is leaving, mine is coming, thanks for sending her over. LOL

Thin - Welcome! I also meal plan now. Ive been using meals for the past 2 weeks from Cooking Light magazine. Where do you find your meals from?

Scale - Im sorry about your gain, but your attitude is WONDERFUL!! I would never be that positive and I look up to you for being able to do so! With that outlook, you'll have the rest of that gain, and then some, gone for good!

The Birthday BBQ went GREAT! We had about 25 people total & the baby not only played in his individual cake 10x more than our daughters ever did, but he made out like a bandit with all of the gifts from everyone. I cant believe our little man is a whole year. Its honestly been the fastest year of my life thus far. My IL's were there, as well as my husband's grandmother. I gave her & MIL their Mother's Day gifts & cards early, and they did the same for me ($30 for a spa pedicure & a card that made me cry!) so I got a little present too.

I stayed OP totally yesterday! The hot dogs (I think Sassy recommended them) were DELICIOUS so thank you for that! I passed up the potato salad, cake & ice cream with ease! I even got comments on "Wow, you have some willpower!" It was nice to hear. It was even nicer to see a .4 drop on the scale this morning. I never expected a loss so Im very happy.

That all being said, I have a down-part too. I uploaded over 120 pictures of yesterday's party, and I have to honestly say, I am NOT yet happy with the way I look at different angles. I have now for SURE decided to increase my goal weight another 10lbs (145) and at that point, will re-evaluate to possible a final 5-10 (140-135) For me, its not the number, its the way I look & feel & Im not happy yet.

I weighed in this morning and I was .2 up. I refuse to acknowledge that, however. I am going to go back to doing proper workouts tonight, after dinner settles. I need to drink more water I know, I am hoping that was the issue from yesterday.

I am looking at how long I have till my events and I am getting frustrated. I have 3.5 weeks to the first event. I hope I can lose 6 pounds by then but I don't know. Then I have my trip in about 6 weeks. I REALLY want to be down 15 pounds by then but that REALLY isn't likely to happen now is it? I pretty much have to be at goal by mid to late July because I have an event in September which is the one I have the really small costume stuff for. I need the extra time to put the finishing touches on everything. See that whole, "it's a journey" thing doesn't work with me. I have deadlines! TICK TOCK!

Of course if I didn't have deadlines, I would be more likely to go off plan.

just.want.it.to.go.away.NOW!

GIGANTIC BUTT... GO AWAY!!!

Ok I am going to go do a bit of sewing then workout. Maybe tomorrow the scale will stop being a biznitch and GO DOWN.

EDIT: Well I am going to go , already & . Still feeling frustrated. I am so impatient!

Good Morning Ladies

Its raining again and the dampness it really killing my ankle. My weight in up a little also, can't wait until I can exercise again.

THIN FOR FIVE TIMES-Welcome,I agree with the planning part I would be lost without my food journal.Having your DH planning with you is a plus, more support the easier it gets.

SCALE WATCHER-Big Congrats your weight loss, every little bit helps.I find losing a small amount stays off more than losing a large amount.Hope you feeling better today.

RETIRE-Planning & printing out a monthly meal menu is fantastic idea,I have to look in my food journal all the time and just seeing it on the refrig would make it much easier to read. Thanks for the idea.We eat our main meal at noon also, and find that the our tummy's aren't as full,by the time we go to bed.

GHOST-Hi don't be a stranger always room for one more.

VEGAS-Called the doctor's office yesterday and the receptionist told me that they had the MRI results but they won't give me the results over the phone. She told me that he [doc]will discuss it with my at my Follow-Up on 5/14.So now I have two more weeks before I find out. Meanwhile I told her to have the doctor call me,need some thing stronger for the pain,as Ibuprofen is not helping at all.

Thanks for the congrats on my maintaining, hoping for a loss next W-I Wanted to be out of the 160's by June but, my losing is like a snail crawl, and its going to take longer.

Glad you had a great time at the BBQ birthday party for your son,and controlling your eating, you did great as the scale dropped in your favor this morning. Big Congrats for that. Cameras always make you look larger, look in the mirror it might tell you something different.

PRINNY PRINNY PRINNY-Don't beat yourself up,it not worth it. Remember you fluctuate every day and of course the scale is going to go up & down. Don't go by that daily # until the end of your week and than average it out. Other wise your better off weighing-in once a week,if the fluctuation is going to bother you.

Have a great morning

Prinny - Believe me I know its frustrating. I dont have deadlines, but Im impatient anyway. You just have to keep at it. As upset as you're going to get isnt going to make the weight come off any faster. Know that I feel you though.

Beach - No results over the phone, so they make you wait 2 weeks! Id be upset at that! If I were you, Id either move my appt. up, or when you speak with the Dr, Id say walking around for 2 more weeks without an answer just isnt going to cut it! I agree about the camera always adding weight, but I want to be able to take a picture of myself, any angle, and LOVE it! Thats one of my non scale goals now. I have a long way to go.

Im still maintaining. W-I today at 165.2 again. Ill take that over a gain. Im not sure if TOM is about to me here or not. I DO feel more hungry like when its about to arrive, but I also have energy, so Im confused. I guess only time will tell.

Out with my best friend tonight, then tomorrow is James' 1 year old checkup & shots. I always despise shots :/
