I am going to have to get a cooking light subscription one of these days ... maybe for my birthday.

Beach bum, that is frustrating to wait ... maybe they could make time to see you now and give you results if you are willing to keep your more leisurely follow-up appointment.

Prinny, I feel you. I am going to a family reunion type of event in a week and a half and I wish it could've been a few months later, when I'd actually be, or at least feel, thin. Ditto with the relatives coming to visit me the first week in June. Like all my events are nowish, but I was planning to be actually look hot this fall. Annyong.

I try not to let the fluctuation get me down because I am definitely still losing, but this week in particular I felt like I really 'eeked' out the 2 lbs I officially lost. I didn't see lower than 187 until Saturday, where I had three days of seeing 183-185. Got a solid official weigh-in on Monday and now this morning the scale clearly showed 186. Doesn't sound bad, maybe, but it almost never shows higher like that. After Monday it usually shows the same weight for a few days until a lower fluctuation sets in toward the end of the week. So I feel all nervous that my 185 wasn't real. I try not to get hung up on one week in particular since my trend is so downward, but I am anxious to be 70 lbs down and then get into the 170s.

Anyway. Once I get to rambling about my weigh-in, then there I go ...

Hi Lovely, the scale sometimes does that to us. I went 6 weeks one time without losing an ounce and then I started losing again. This time I'm up and down. Don't give up. One day you'll step on the scale and you'll be down a few pounds and you'll feel great.

Beach, I'd be upset if I had to wait that long for the MRI results. Your ankle could be worse by then or all better (hopefully). I'd see if I could get an earlier appointment. Maybe he could squeeze you in first thing in the morning or something like that.

Well, I blew it today. I made homemade bread and you know what I did, don't you? That's right I indulged in 2 slices for dinner and then at supper time I went hog wild and ate one slice after another toasted with margarine. Oh well, I enjoyed it so much. I haven't had toast with margarine in such a long time and then to have homemade bread toasted was just too much. I'm just glad I didn't have butter in the frig or I might still be eating. I'll lighten up my meals a bit tomorrow though so that'll help some.

My plans for finishing the wedding veil went out the window today. We had a power outage this afternoon for about an hour. I knew about it and that was OK. But when the power came back on half of our house had no power in the outlets. DH couldn't fix it and couldn't get an electrician until tomorrow. Of course my sewing machine was on the side of the house with no power and I didn't want to move it as I had all my sewing gear set up on the dining room table. Fortunately, we do have the power back now. DH's brother had the same thing happen at his house a few months ago and he knew what to do. There was an overload on the breaker that powered the outlets. We unplugged everything and the power came back. That will save lots of $$$$. So tomorrow I finish the veil.

While the power was out I cleaned my patio doors and the front window and door. I felt like Martha Stewart. She did a demo on cleaning windows this week and that's all I could think about when I was cleaning the windows. Then I dusted the living room and mom's room. A few hours a week without power could be a real boon to my housekeeping skills.

I did get in an hour on my bike so the day wasn't a total loss.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Ladies

Its now 4 day straight that its been raining and damp. Can't stand this weather,I getting cabin fever, staying in all day all for that amount of time.

Well my doctor called yesterday afternoon and sent my pharmacy a prescription for a pain killer. Leo is going out to get it for me,even if his back is hurting in the dampness.

VEGAS-I was upset, but I'm lucky that I got an appointment. The doctor that we have here is very very busy he has lots of hip & knee replacements to do,as 33% of the people in our town are senior citizen. Now that I have the pain killers it won't be that bad to wait.

I haven't taken a photo me since our last vacation in Sept 2008,I not as brave. Big Congrats on maintaining like you said it isn't a gain. I hope that my maintain will turn into lose next week now that I'm at the low end of my calorie range 1300-1500 especially when I can't exercise.

WHITE FENCES-Thanks I know the waiting was frustrating ,but as long as I can get get relieve from the pain killers it will be ok to wait.

RETIRE-Its been 4 weeks now that I twisted my ankle and the only thing I'm asking for is a stronger pain killer, and know that I have that I'll just keep on doing the RICE method[REST,ICE,COMPRESS & ELEVATION]I'm sure he looked over my MRI before deciding what pain killer I needed.

Home made bread, Oh I LOVE BREAD. We were talking about that on another board that I post to. They made there bread with a bread mix where you just add water. Is that what you do or do you have a bread machine???? Would love to try to bake some.

Home made baked bread ! I wouldn't dare have that in the house. Warm out of the oven with lots of butter......I have no will power there.

Hi Gang! I'm following the suggestion of my current weight X 7 to determine calorie intake for weight loss. The scale is moving down.It really works. Before this calculation I would bump from 1800 calories, back down to 1200 calories, only to be totally frustrated!! Eating lots of packaged foods, but I'm on the run a lot. I have to do what works. Including fruits and veggies too. Thanks for everyone's help!!

Hi CandySue. Welcome.

Beach, the bread was made from scratch with the only bread machine I possess--my two hands. Actually, I don't like the bread and roll mixes that are very popular in my area. The whole wheat seems to have a bitter taste to it and the white, although it tastes good, is white and I try to have as much whole grains as possible. I've made bread most of my married life except for the last couple of years. I think I'm back to doing it again. I've found a simpler method of using only a little yeast and leaving it overnight. I do knead it but it raises so nicely overnight that I think I'll stick with that method. I was really pleased with this last batch. When the kids were little and we were all taking lunches every day I'd make 12-15 loaves every two weeks.

Bargoo, I lost my will power by supper time last night and ate about half a loaf...sigh...but all is under control today.

Thin4fiveminutes, now how do you know that's water weight? Don't be so hard on yourself.

I've eaten very light today but I'm still hungry and have loads of calories left so I guess there will be a snack later on. Probably an apple and maybe a cheese stick. Have to get on my bike yet today. I was busy today and did get the veil finished. It looks very nice and DS's fiance is pleased with the finished product so that's all that matters.

I also broke my iron today. I knocked it off the ironing board and little pieces broke off and there are several cracks in the plastic body. It still works so I guess I'll hang on to it for another little while. Poor old iron only sees the light of day about once a month, if that. I've had it for years.

Well, have a nice day everyone and stay away from the fresh bread.

Good Early Morning Ladies

I had to get up early this morning to take my second pill the pain killer lasted 16 hrs.I'm so pleased as now I only have to take one per day, when needed.

The pouring rain has to stop,it did for awhile yesterday afternoon when the sun came peeking thought put I guess during the night the rain started and its pouring again.I can't take it anymore.

Was supposed to go out shopping to Walmarts for some vitamins for my joint pain, but I'm not going to let Leo drive when his not feeling well either.

The one thing we have to look forward to is to watch the Players golf tournament this whole weekend,as we are great golf fans, too bad we don't play.

THIN-Glad your down for the month,I'd take that also, even if it water it s a start. Big congrats for that.

BARGOO-Its amazing how many people love bread,I would love to bake it,but I always have problems killing the yeast and another lady from another board told me about the bread mixes that you only add water,so it sounded so simple and I'll have to try.

CANDYSUE-That's the method that the B/L uses. When I times my weight by 7, I thought that that was to low for me,so I moved mine up a few 100 calories. Good for you that it s working for you and you loss big congrats for that.

RETIRE-Your a pro when it comes to bread making. I don't think I could ever start from scratch,I even can kill yeast when I try. Going to try the just add water mixes and if I don;t like them I will return to my local bakery.

LJ- welcome, if course you can join, the more they merrier I always say.

Time for breakfast,getting hungry

Hello everyone, Im here!

All THREE of my kids got the stomach flu Tuesday, all of them are better now. The baby had it the worst by far, but that could be because his molars are coming in to top it off. Luckily hubby & I are fine so far! Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Retire - Sorry about your bread episode. Im sure it was SO SO good, & I hope you took a few bites for me!! Mmmm homemade bread!! I agree with the power outage being good for housekeeping. I hate cleaning, but keep a very neat home. Odd right? I hope you get all the wedding things in order again!

Lovely - Hang in there, it will come off!

Thin - Pounds are pounds, CONGRATS!! Keep it up!!

CandySue - Welcome! Ive heard you should x your GOAL weight by 10 to get your daily calories. Not sure which. Ive been eating 1300-1400 daily for almost 6 months and feel great. Ive only gotten 1 plateau as well. I hope you lose, lose lose!!!

LJ - Welcome!!

Beach - Im sorry its been rainy & blah there. If you want, come on out to Vegas. It was 100 here yesterday, a dry heat. Ive been buying the girls shorts & tank tops to be ready. The baby already has a stocked wardrobe! Im happy the pain killers are working. Have you been doing any upper body things? I hope you have a nice loss soon!!

Soooooooo Im HAPPY!! I W-I this morning & low and behold, I dropped 2.4lbs! Thats freakin amazing, and Im ecstatic, but Im not sure why or how this exactly happened. I didnt exercise hard, I ate regularly. The only clue I have is dealing with the kids tummy bug. Up & down stairs, changing sheets, laundry, etc. etc. At any rate, Im SOOOO happy and this is great motivation for me! I needed that loss because Im SO close I can taste it now!

I took a solo time yesterday while hubby was off & went to Kohls to do some shopping. I got these brown dress pants for an event next week in a Juniors size 9 = to a Women's size 8! I cant believe it! I also got a cute dress for my little sister's high school graduation in June. Its a happy day!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

WTG, Vegaspunkermom, on the weight loss. You're almost to goal. And I think I probably ate a slice of bread for everyone on this thread.

Beach, glad the pain killer worked for you. I'll bet you slept better, too.

I made oatmeal raisin cookies and date squares today. I allowed myself a cookie and some cookie dough. I'm not sure how many calories yet until I punch everything into fitday. The date squares are for the weekend when my friend is coming to dinner. She loves date squares but she's diabetic so I made on pan with Splenda just for her. I was going to tackle the bridesmaid's shawls this afternoon but I don't know if I will as I'm kind of sleepy today. Maybe I'll have a little nap and feel more refreshed when I wake up.

I'm keeping on plan so far today (except for the cookie dough but that wasn't much). My Weigh In day is Saturday morning so only one more day to keep "good" until W day. Have a good day everyone.

My sleep schedule is really messed up right now, even for me. Especially if I plan on going dancing tomorrow. So tired but need to stay up to fix it.

Was good and worked out this morning, been good with eating, just need to keep drinking water and try to STOP with the caffeine today even though I feel like a zombie about now.

I'm going to go stare at the wall now while my brain rots.

Oh yeah I finally got around to measuring myself. It's actually been a month since I did last time. Down to 40.5/29/42 I started at 41.5/31/45 so from when I started this a loss of 1/2/3 <--freaky! I have also lost 2 inches off my thighs incidentally. I need to get down to max of 26 preferably back to 24 which I used to have at 135.
