Was wondering if I could join you ladies? Going to start CC tomorrow. Have tried it in the past and at the moment I'm not really commiting myself to one plan and I need focus!! I'm going to use FitDay. Do you girls watch your protien, carbs and fat as well? I want to make sure I'm getting a balanced diet so I'm going to try but I tried before and it got really complicated at times!! |
beach-Yeah ron would be like just keep us here for my son. I just want him to be here you can vote me off or throw me beside the road just keep my son....Now he says everyone else should leave before they suggest him. Like why didnt any of them just stand up to him. It really sucked that cathy left. Yeah there is a lot of twists and turns in this one. ALOT more than the last one. vegas-She doesn't need to smoke and she is in foster care because of incorriagable behavior. She would just do anything everyone else did or wanted her to which is not healthly. We have managed to teach her to be her own person. Which she still follows a lot. She has a leader personality but not much self confidence to go with it. So I really try to work with her in that. Nicki-Yeah we have had her for 2 years. It is hard when you first get them because a lot of them are not used to structure and some are used to being the parent in the home. So some have a hard time with rules. We originally didnt want teens but there are sooooo many teens that nobody wants. So when we got the call we said ok. Of course we make sure there is no major issues that would hurt our children. Which we have not had any problems. Actually my 2 year old called her my foster dd while she was visiting her mom and she says "you not go with your mom you go upstairs.." Then the first thing she asked when her eyes opened was for her. I am not going to lie it is work and it takes ALOT of love, understanding, and patience. I dont regret doing it but I said to my husband I said if she goes home I dont know if I want to start on another kid again. It takes a lot of work to help them grow. Hes like but your soooo good at it. My heart is to start a home for pregnant teens with no home. I know right now with my kids I do not have the time to put into it so when the time is right I am sure it will happen. I know she misses us and its going to be hard if she goes home. Last weekend she called me before she went to bed to tell me goodnight. Then she called me last night to tell me good night then called me this morning to tell me good morning. I feel bad for her cause shes in a hard spot but I know she will make it....OK I am just blabbering on...LOL I am not doing so hot on plan those few bad days I had really screwed me up. I am sooo struggling. I still dropped a pound but I HAVE to get on plan. I am determined to lose this weight I just have to DO IT!!! Ok well have a good day everyone!!! ttyl |

The scale has put me in a 1 lb loss for three days so I'm going to make it official. I'm now 167 again like it was in Jan. So I'm hoping for a 7 lb loss in the next 1 1/2 weeks left of my challenge. VEGAS-Thanks for the congrats,Hope it continues going down.Yes that has happened to me the other day,Leo thinks my tummy is shrinking and Im don't feel like eating big meals anymore. NICKIE-Happy that I could help. I usually exercise 5 days a week between 30 45 mins everyday. MADDIE-Welcome to our thread. We Have a good group will to listen and answer questions to the best of our ability.Good luck on your starting CC tomorrow. I was on so many plans that didn't work and I found that CC is the best. I watch my carbs be case that the food group that I have too much of,and that the reason I use fit day myself. MOMO-You said it all about that show. Hopefully they go back to basic and not only for rating. Have a get afternoon I heading for the TV to watch the golf tournament. |

Maddie - Welcome! I also think that CC is the best way to lose the weight, and more importantly, keep it off! Its great to have you, and congrats for getting back into the swing of things! Momo - I hope you didnt think I was saying something along the lines of "she should smoke" or "you should let her" because heck no! Having self-confidance these days are difficult, especially for teen girls. There is so much media BS of you should dress this way, or be this skinny, thats its sad. Congrats on your 1lb. loss! One is better than none! You WILL lose the weight, you can do it! Beach - Hooray for officially being back! I hope this is the start of continued loss for you. Whip that body back into gear! Does anyone know when the heck Ill be allowed to have a darn ticker? Grrr. |
Nothing much going on with me lately. I have done perfect for the week and scales are still not moving. I think i have hit my platau...grrr I tried lowering my calories and nothing has changed. Im giving it another week at the lower calories and see what happens.I also have changed my weigh day till monday instead of sat.I think I have been eating to much on the weekends.

dgramie - If you are at a plateau, you certainly lost a GREAT amount before you hit it! Anyhow, I just wanted to say I hit mine (or my first one because who knows whats to come) after about 25lbs. and tried everything. What nudged me out of it was exercising for a full hour instead of my normal 30-40 minutes. After a few days of that I was able to go back to my normal routine.

Not feeling well this morning,I think I caught something like Leo had for 2 weeks.I didn't go out with my friends for brunch,as I have a queasy tummy.Didn't eat anything but chicken veggie soup and 2 dry rye toast.Hope Whatever I have doesn't last for 2 weeks cause my DD & the grand kids are coming up here for Spring Break. VEGAS-I'm not sure when you get to use your ticker.I think you have to be on the board at least one month.I hope that my weight will go down again and that I found my calorie balance,but we'll see in the up coming months. DGRAMIE-Glad to see you posting again. I sure that the scale will more downward again. I did for me,just by using a smaller section plate[the ones you get from the frozen entrees.] I don't use these plates for heating up,but I use them as a plate to put my stove cooked meals in them. That's my way of weight & measuring my food intake. Just a thought. Have a great afternoon going to watch the golf tournament. |

I had a bad weekend! I didn't start my CC, I just didn't have the right foods. Sounds like a bad excuse I know but I really hadn't gotten the right foods with CC in mind last week. But today I went and spent way more money then I should have on healthy low cal low fat foods! I'm pumped to start!! I'm going to hit the gym tomorrow morning. Tonight though I need to plan my meals because if I don't I totally wont stick to a plan! Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week! |

Its official I lost 1 lb at my W-I this morning. Now I have to see if I can get out of the 160's.Seven[7]pounds to lose,but it not going to be easy,have to continue eating off the tiny plates along with my zig zaging my calories day to day,it might be doable. MADDIE-I don't understand why you had to go out and buy all those low calorie foods. Other than CC I think that portion control is the key also.Not suggesting that your eat high calorie or high fats foods,but hope that you bought the foods that you like to eat,and not depriving yourself in reg foods.Good Luck on your new venture of CC.Did you check the sticky above how to start the CC challenge.Over 200 lbs you should start with 1800 calories. punkermom- I lost really great until nov...it took me 4 months to lose 10lbs and now its like i cant get to the 90lb mark.
I am going to increase my exercise this week. I did increase it last week also. I drink 128 ounces of water a day... I am eating 1300-1400 calories per day( a decrease of 100 calories per day) my dr recomended it but he said to decrease to 1200. I am not ready to do that yet!! beachbum- i already eat off of a salad plate. How do you get your calories in if your eating off such a small plate. The only thing i have been doing different is I have a new additction...frozen grapes..i have been eating a cup of them in the evenings as snack(70 calories) but i have not been eating any protien with them..do you think that might help?? someone once told me you had to balance carbs with protien. any ideas?? I know on the ZONE diet you had to balance everything even snacks.. |
Beach - Congrats on the weight loss & I hope you're feeling better. Ive always wanted to try the whole zig-zag thing, but havent gotten up the guts to try it yet. Right nowim figuring, if its not broken, lets not mess with it.
Maddie - Glad you got all the foods you need to get started. It'll get easier, and become natural for you to CC. Prinny - I have a VERY hard time eating breakfast. Ive never been much of a morning eater to begin with (except when pregnant) and now Im still not hungry until about 11. I have to force myself. :/ Dgramie - Wow! You're hardcore woman! I couldnt drink that much water if you paid me! Awesome, but it shows in your weight loss, thats for sure. As for me, Ive been very lazy!! Im totally OP as far as eating, and oddly enough, Ive been even less hungry than usual. Not sure what the deal with that is. I need to get up off my behind & exercise today! On an amazing note, yesterday at Walmart they had clearance clothes for $1. Ive been too scared to buy anything in my goal size thus far, but it being only $1, I bought 2 pair of workout pants, a pair of stretch dress pants (Size Med. 7/9) and a shirt (Size Med. 7/9). I also bought some things for the kids! When I got home & put the clothes away, I decided to try on the medium stuff for giggles. HOLY HECK they FIT!!!!!!! Now I dont feel comfortable to rock these medium clothes out anywhere yet, but another 10lbs. or so, and I KNOW they'll be perfect. I officially fit into my goal size. Im SHOCKED!! |
I have a question. When it comes to eating foods that you don't make yourself, whether it's out or someone makes it for you, how do you count calories for it? My room mate made me this dinner tonight. it wasn't really bad foods and I didn't eat a huge amount of it but all I could do was do my best to guestimate it on FitDay

Worked out today! All I can say is I feel RAWR!!! No other way to describe it. I am sure I'll be sore tomorrow so no weigh ins for a few days till my muscles stop holding water and reparing.
Since I had extra calories to spend we went to have Mexican as a treat. I have a grilled chicken and veggies thing and ONE chip... I actually didn't want anymore. I think my tastes are actually changing after a month of this. Hubby was really good too. He's lost 8 pounds since he started being serious about being good which was about a week after I started I guess. Now I just have to get him to do some exercise too, but he hates exercise worse than anything. Maybe he'll get on the wii fit. |
I have been mia. I had a rough few days. I didnt track my calories cause I knew I was doing poorly and it would make me feel worse. Just a lot of stuff going on. I was very very shocked to get on the scale and be down 4 lbs after such a crappy weekend. I got my 30 day shred dvd. So I guess I will start on that tomorrow. I just dont know how to CONTROL my eating. Like if its not in the house to eat then I am good but if its here I will just eat it. I totally dont drink enough water... I am just gonna smash my head against the wall a few times and hope that gets me on track........
vegas-I knew you werent saying she should or anything like that. I know they do stuff to fit in she just does it a lot more and that kinda put her in the position she is in now. So you think they would learn when it comes to that but then again teens think they are the smartest people on the earth!!! MORE POWER TO THEM...lol... well I am beat plus its 2 am and kids will be up and going early even if I dont wanna be!!! Anyone that has any tips the help keep you motivated can you pass them along I am desperate. I am about to tape pictures of me when I was skinny or skinny models on all the cupboards and on the fridge and anywhere else I would see them!!! I dont know what else to do...LIke I know what I need to do but cant get it right.. Sorry feeling discouraged because I am not doing anything right. Eating wrong things, eating too much, and no excercise.... I know I lost that weight but most of it was from Sunday I ate one meal because of church and then I had like and hour and half of teach drama so I worked my butt off. I did about three hours of drama practice saturday night. 9 perfect days in a row...and still no movement downward on the scales..in fact they went up 2lbs today...grr
I am keeping on with what i am doing and one of these days i will have a huge loss and i know it!!! high winds here today..wont be going outside to play with the kids. I have to drink at least a gallon of water a day or i get kidney infections and stones..not really a choice for me!!! I know it helps with my weight loss though!! |

Last Saturday was our 12th anniversary for us moving to the Cape so we are going out to Celebrate at the BBC restaurant. Leo of course is going to have his reg fish & chips I going for a pot roast with roasted veggies and Yorkshire gray piled high on a on a POGG. I'm now on the 1300-1500 zigzag CC. and I find it better than the 1400-1600 that I was on a few weeks ago. Our wind is whipping up again, the temps this morning was 25%,so it back to the old bike riding until the winds decide to subside and I can go walking outside again. MADDIE-Just checking,oh I know what you mean when the cabinet is bare. I just don't believe in low fat foods,as they put other ingredients to keep the flavor like sodium or carbs. DGRAMIE-I keep a food journal and I use my plates as a measuring device like a food scale. I have 1300-1500 calories daily on the small tray, and I have 3 mini snacks like fruits or dairy between the main meals that bring my calories to right amount for the day.See my doctor told me never to go down to 1200,the lowest for me is 1300.When I was eating 1400-1600 I was stalling and and even gaining[170] when I visited the doctor and he told me to lower my calorie count to 1300-1500 and its working. I'm zig zaging my calories every day. MADDIE-I have a calorie counting book and I also have a WW point finder that helps me if there an ingredient information in a the recipe book she cooked from from the package.That's the only way I now. VEGAS-If it working for you than by all mean DON"T fix it. I find that zigzaging works for me,but again we're all different and we all have to find our balance. WOW that was some bargain.Our Walmart's didn't have a sell like that. PRINNY-Go for you have you had some kind of control at the Mexican restaurant. I'm sure your W-I will be good,even when you went out to eat. MOMO-Congrats on your 4 lb loss. You must of done something right to lose that amount of weight.Sometimes you're not feed the body correctly. A lot of people always think that low calories is the way to go, but that's not true according to my doctor. You must eat or you could go into a starvation mode. Just find the right amount of calories that good for you. Have a great time with your new DVD.I sure once you use it you get back to eating right again. Have to go,will be back later |
Maddie - If your roommate has a recipe for what you cooked, there are some sites where you can enter in the recipe exactly, count out your portion (I usually use measuring cups) and it'll tell you your exact calories! I hope that helps a bit!
Prinny - My husband is the same way! He kind of watches, doesnt exercise, but loses weight. Makes me sick! I wish that was me! At any rate, good job going for Mexican & watching it! Willpower baby! Momo - First HOORAY for 4lbs! Hugs honey! I know how hard it can be to stay on plan, especially with stress. Ive been living by this phrase these past few weeks "Nothing will taste as good as being thin will feel" & I must say it in my head about 50 times per day! While Im exercising & I want to stop, I think how good Ill look. You can do this!!! Dgramie - Ive had ONE kidney infection, and it was worse than giving birth the 3 times I did! Id drink as much water as possible if I knew it might be coming again! I bet you have a big lost coming up! Beach - Aww what a cute anniversary! If I ever hit a plateau, I will try zigzagging, but I hope I dont hit anymore plateausThe cashier at Walmart said that Walmart is the only one in town that does that (we have about 25) so I really felt lucky. She said their manager is nuts! I weighed in last night, after dinner, just for the heck of it. I was 173.4, and that was full of dinner! I was shocked, but SO happy! So I signed up for Praxis II today. I'm working towards my teaching certificate. It took a lot for me to actually sign up though. I'm very scared about failing! I also found out that DD needs surgery. Tonsils, adnoids (sp?) and tubes in her ears. Next month. Very nervous about that! I've also discovered that I am in love with my BF. LOL. Don't tell him though. I don't think he's ready. LOL I did get to do Zumba today so I was very excited about taht. I also did my 30DS. Woo hoo! Laziness be gone! |

Another sunny day,but its still cold outside so walking is out and either the treadmill or bike will be my means of exercising. VEGAS-You're very lucky that you don't hit plateaus. I was the PLATEAU :queen: QUEEN for the longest time until I stopped following diet plans and just eat healthy and watched calories,by calorie counting.Thank I read about zigzagging the calorie range and I thought why not try this and it does work at least it does for me.I would love to have our manager in our walmarts do that just for the end of the season clothes. NICKIE-Glad + you had a killer week making some extra $$$$$$$$. You deserve it working two jobs. Congrats on your loss.OH Nickie that great, you not going to fail,you such ambitious one,and you'll pass for that teacher certificate. Sorry about your Dd having to have her tonsils out. But ANYWAYS I got it in and only had to stop a few times. I kept going when I didnt want to. I desperately need to do this for soooo many reasons. SOOO I guess one day at a time. Only thing that is not good is because I have been doing so much this morning I have not ate yet and its 12:30 so thats not good. I will just take it one day at a time. I want to try to do the work out first so I cant put it off and never get to it!! You all know how that goes!! Ok kids are fighting such is my life!!! I hear kids screaming and fighting in my sleep!! |
I want to teach high school English. I know my DD will be fine. I'm just a worrier. I did enjoy the extra cash too. I caught up on a bunch of bills and now finally have money saved for my trip next year that I really wanna go on!!!!
Back on track today. I gained a bit over the weekend and I'm back to my pre-weekend weight. So it's all downhill from here. |

You're probably confused with the post up above that i posted earlier. Let me explain, I don't weigh in on Mondays Only I have been doing a average weighing in for a couple of weeks now,and it quite new to me. The method is to weigh in every day and total it at the end of the week.Than you divided the total by 7 and you get your average W-I. Well I made a mistake with the numbers and thought 165.5 was correct. It isn't the new number is 166.8.So as soon as say hello to your gals I will change to to read correctly. MOMO-CONGRATS on your workout with Jillian WOW that was some workout. Maybe I should look into her videos and see if I can do them. I have the cardio with Bob which I love,but than I haven done that one in a while. I use my stationery bike more so in the winter and should go back to my videos. NICKIE-I guess that's natural for a mom to worry about her child, shows you a GREAT MoM. Whats your vacation plans for next year. We're planing to go back to Hawaii if the economy get better. Nicki - Im sorry about your little girl needing surgery. Im a worrier too, but just stay strong, and know she'll feel SO much better once thats done & over with! Im sure your teacher cert. will be EASY for you!! I also LOVE Zumba, and usually go to the gym with my mom twice a month for classes. Beach - That sounds like a good method to determine how much weight you actually lose per day. Ive been noticing I tend to lose my weight on Monday/Tuesday. Weird, I know. Its like I hold all my water weight in until those days. I did hit one plateau after 25lbs, didnt lose ANY weight for 2 weeks, but didnt gain either, and finally upped my exercise to 40 minutes instead of 25, and it got my losing again. If it ever happens to me again, Ill be sure to try zig/zagging. Momof - Im glad you got that saying up! Its so true, and I honestly live by that now. NO food is worth it to me anymore. That Jillian 3DS is intense right? I recently have been trying her new one "Boost Metabolism" and can NOT get through all 7 circuts. The most Ive gotten through are 4, and the only reason I know there are 7 is because I saw other women on here talking about it! I know all about kids fighting, so Im right there with you. My daughters are best friends & worst enemies all in one. Just laundry & continuing to stay OP for me today. The eating is easy for me now, but the exercise SUCKS! I hate it, whatever kind it is, and just dont want to do it. I know I have to, but jeez. :p |

I think today is going to be a lazy day for me,as I feel very sluggish this morn.Have no energy at all,it might be the lack of exercising last night. VEGAS-I use to do this method of average weighing long time ago when I was on a low carb diet.Stop after a while getting to frustrated with the ups and downs of the scale. Than for some strange reason I remembered doing it and thought why not trying it again.But of course I'm going to W-I once a day,and I will keep in mind the ups & downs and just used the number as a tool and the total will be my W-I weight. NICKIE-I want on a Panama cruise saw number of countries from Mexico,Costa Rica,Nicaragua,and than going though the Panama Canal to the Caribbean Islands . Its was an exciting trip,and one that you'll remember. Looks like you have a good plan,and that's what life's all about. Enjoy. Have a great morning |

So I did my cardio after work but ws running late on time so skipped 30DS. I made a good enough choice at Copelands. I am out of the 190s today so that is my daily excitement!!!!!!! Five ppl called me skinny yesterday. More excitedment!

Nicki - We've been on 2 Mexico cruises, and loved both! You'll have a blast Im sure! CONGRATS on saying goodbye to those 190's for good, and Im so glad you feel pumped for having your weight loss noticed, its the BEST thing ever!!
Beach - I also W-I once a day, and really should keep track of my daily change. I know another pound or so will come off come Tuesday, thats the day it ALWAYS drops, unless another plateau is on its way.. I HOPE not! Dgramie - I hope you have a huge loss on its way! NICKIE-Big Congrats getting out of the 190's.Whatever you're doing continue as it working for you. VEGAS-I find that also losing more so at the beginning of the week than at the end. So that the reason I switched my W-I day to Mondays. Now I losing in the middle of the week. Can't figure out what my body wants.
