Nicki - The Hag is another name for the monthly gift, the rag, period, lol! although, looking back, it would have been funnier if it were about someone in particular. I HATE working out when my kids are cranky, and it seems like one always trys to interrupt.
Prinny - Glad your cards came & you got to see the Dr. Mom - I like Bob's videos too, but IMO Jillian works me harder. Stayed OP today! Did a core video & a dance video. Tonight Im going walking with a friend, and hope to get at LEAST 2-3 miles under my belt. |
I've lost that nasty 2.5 pounds I gained last week plus an extra pound for a total of 3.5 pounds this week. I'm weighing in early because we are going to see Baby this afternoon and I won't have scales for over a week.
So if I'm missing for a few days you'll know I'm on a serious date with my new grandson. |

Sorry I was MIA yesterday afternoon but we were so exhausted when we got back from the doctors I just wanted to veg out. I had a brain storm the other day and thought about portion control,when at the doctors office I read all about those package delivered meals,where testers were following the meals of 5 companies from Biggest Loser,Nutrasystem,Jenny Direct,Kitchen Chef & another unfamiliar brand. The information from the testers was interesting from PROs don't have to cook or prepare to CONS watered down soup, not enough to eat etc. They also mentioned in the article that those who can't afford the prices they charge don't be forlorn,just get a small plate like the package item and portion control starts. So starting today that's what I'm going to do, I have 3 trays[1 with 3 sections the other with 2 and the 3rd has only 1 section] from those Lean Cuisine and Smart ones entrees and I'm going to eat out of them until I can visual a real portion control meal. VEGAS-TG I don't have to go back,I have better things to do with my time,like trying to figure out what will make the scale go downward. NICKIE-It was another ordeal,but now it over.Hope you were able to get your cardio done,even when your little one was having a cranky day. I'm starting to get my outdoor walking done again, now that the weather is getting warmer. RETIRE-Big Congrats on Your lucky Fri the 13th W-I and losing 2.5 lbs Hope I will be able to have a lucky Monday the 16th as that's my W-I day. Beach - Portion control is a big challenge for me often too. I just get SO hungry. I think your idea sounds great! I usually W-I on Friday's, however, do to being on a period week, Im going to W-I on Sunday or Monday instead. That way I can get a few good days of exercise in first, before I see the same number as last week! |
Today I am doing a very poor job of tracking everything. I am in a mood where I don't care and just want to eat pie. Not having lost anything in a while is not helping. Still feel icky, taking my meds but I am so sick of being sick. Prinny is in a foul mood. :-(

Going to go grocery shopping without my dear Leo,he developed a stomach virus and is afraid to leave the house. In fact the whole little town has come down with the flu in nursing homes and the whole 4th floor of our hospital is quarantined with the stomach virus,since last two weeks. Nothing new,still working on what calorie range is best for me. I noticed that I do better when going on a higher range 1400-1600 but this last week I went down a little 1300-1500 Hope it works for Mondays W-I.I sure the small plates that I using is going to help also. VEGAS-I hope this little trick that I read about will work. I find if I eat to many carbs around supper time I then to eat mindlessly while watching TV.. But when I control them the carvings go away. Do you find yourself in the same situation,its funny how many people can't handle carbs after a certain age. Good Idea about moving your W-I to Monday when TOM is gone,I do the same thing. PRINNY-Sorry about you being sick. Did you get your insurance card yet. Don't get into a depression,snap out of it and get back to OP as soon as possible,you don't want to let this feeling ruin your health. |
I ordered jillian's video so that will be cool when I get it!!! Today was a hard day to stay on track cause of TOM but I have done well so far so that is good.
beach-the stomach flu TOTALLY sucks...knock on wood I have managed to avoid it this winter!!! All my kids had flu shots so they didn't get it either!! Prinny-yeah I know what you mean I just wanted to eat a cake but I didn't let my husband make it because I woulda ate it all!!! I hope you feel better soon!!! Vegas-I do wi's on monday but I was thinking of changing to Friday BEFORE the weekend. That way I dont feel discouraged if I do poorly on the weekends. I would have a week to work it off and get back on track!! Retire-Enjoy seeing the baby!!! Its nice to visit and nice to leave right!!! Thats what my mom always tells me...she LOVES to visit them and LOVES when she can give them back!!! |

Look like it going to be a cloudy day,and its going to be a day of rest. At least for me after attending church services and brunch with my friends than I heading for the tv and watch the finial of the golf tournament. My Weight went down a little so I think the Small Plate idea is working.Not feeling hungry at all,but I must give it time to let my bod know what I'm doing. MOMO-I thought for sure that I was going to get it,but I didn't *knock on wood*. My DH is feeling a lot better to day. I guess living in a small town you can get a virus from anywhere. So your a Jillian fan I like BOB's workout better. His cardio video is excellent. The only thing I don't do with that tape is his floor exercises as I have a bad back and I wouldn't get up from the floor doing that. Have a great day,see you in the morning |
Beach - Hooray on the plate idea working, and a bigger hooray that you're well when so many in your town arent! Maybe your immune system is better because you're exercising & eating right? Who knows, but Im glad you're well. I like Bob, but I am an overall Jillian fan. I owe getting up off my fat bootie to HER!! Also, if I do her 45 minute Boost Metabolism video, Im almost SURE to lose a pound the next day!
Momof - I know how hard it is to stay OP during TOM, so good for you! This month was a bit easier for me with less cravings. You'll love the Jillian video for sure! All of her's are just awesome, really. Ill be technically W-I twice this week, Monday (due to TOM this past week) & Friday (to get back on regular W-I schedule). I also have been meaning to mention Im a mommy of 3 (under 5) so I know how tough it is to get your workouts in and be a mommy at the same time! Today we're going to the library & grocery shopping. That will get some good walking in. Also, we're going to try and take the kiddos to the park to get some energy out! Have a great Sunday all! |
Feeling a bit better today the steroid inhaler is helping clear up the crud. I slipped a little the last 2 days but I was actually down to 168.6 this morning. I hope I lose a little faster once I can work out again because I am going to get really frustrated at this rate.

Beach- I am not so much a fan of jillian's I really like both of them. They each have their own style. Yes Jillian may come across meaner and harder but she really at times reaches out and seems to dig down deeper. Bob is very supportive and someone that you just want to work out for where as jillian you work out or else...LOL...I liked bob's workout I am sure jillians is gonna be a killer I cant wait to get it.
Vegas- thats awesome that there is someone else in here that has more than two kids and all close together. Not that only having one or two kids is easy because its not. But when you have 3 or 4 (or more) young kids all close together it is HARD. It is hard to do anything period!!! Just to run to the store to get milk takes atleast 30 minutes to get ready. Then to get them ALL in the car. Then you have to get them all out and take them in the store...LOL....I love when I go to Walmart during the day with just me and the kids I always get are they all yours....LOL...Yes they are ALL mine...haha.. My husband and I got out a few hours wout kids and at walmart there was a lady in front that had four kids all young and close in age and I just stood there and chuckled cause she was trying to keep them in the cart, sat down, not hitting each other while trying to answer the ladies question!!! Another lady in front of me was annoyed but I knew exactly what that mom dealt with so I just laughed when the kids started sword fighting with two plastic poles to a stand being returned!!! The kids weren't bad just restless and not wanting to sit still....ANYWAYS Did you gain weight from having the kids? Thats where I gained my weight. I got preggo with my first kid 5 years ago and haven't been the same since!! I had my tubes tied and know I am done so I am trying to work hard at losing the weight. Before I always used the excuse why lose it and then get preggo again all the work will be in vain.... Prinny-I feel bad your having such a hard time!! I am glad the inhaler worked. I hope things keep getting better for you!!! Well I talked WAYYY tooo much....I hope everyone has a good week this week. There was a guy that left a message on my voicemail and at the end he said "Make it a good day" I thought that was different. Hey guys. Just dropping a line. Did good all weekend but had some beer and pizza last night. But the strength/cardio/abs/30DS I did earlier in the day may have made up for it though. So I'm not unhappy with myself. Today was way under cals because of sleeping. LOL. Looking forward to tomorrow. No lower on the scale since reaching my St Patty's Day goal but I know i"m doing good. Besides reaching that goal meant reaching a mini goal. So I'm very happy!!!!
I went to the gym yesterday to work out so a lot of ppl saw me in my work out clothes instead of my work clothes. My work clothes are huge on me so they're not very flattering (I'm working on getting them taken in) so a bunch of ppl told me how skinny I looked yesterday. Super excited!!! The pant sizes are just dropping. When I started I ranged between 22 and 20. Then I reached 18. Now the 18 are kinda big and I could probably fit in 16. My mom gave me some 14s and I can't quite get into those yet. But I'm still in a great mood!!! My bday is in June and I want a whole new wardrobe! |

Lost this week [.5] but I'll take it. Not worried,as I just started eating my meals in a smaller[3 section] plate for portion control.I guess it takes a while before I get used to new way of eating. Tracker finally reading correctly. VEGAS-I think the small plate is working like I mentioned above. I don't feel hungry and I'm now watching mindless eating. I must being doing something right as I was at church yesterday and I didn't catch anything from anyone. MOMO-I think I stay will Bob Don't like people making me cry,like I see on the B/L but than again that's done for ratings as it a TV show. NICKIE-Continue what your doing as its working for you Congrats on both factors ,getting to your mini goal and shrinking in clothing size. Have to go, will post later |

My W-I today has me at 175.6! Thats down about 2lbs. and it was TOM week, so Im VERY VERY greatful! Cloud 9 is putting it mildly and its another day of cardio fat burn for me! Momo - Goodness it seems we have A LOT in common! I was 135lbs prior to kids, always a size 7. I has the perky boobs & bubble butt. I have 3 kids: Makenna is 4.5, Maddie is 2.5, and James is 10.5 months! I got pregnant with my first in 2003, gained 85lbs with her, and lost it ALL in 3 months doing nothing. It just came off! I got lucky with that, but the stretch marks & body changes stayed. I got pregnant again in 2005, gained 48lbs. and lost most of it with little effort. My 3rd pregnancy was my stickler. I gained 52lbs. and I guess since this was my boy pregnancy, I was MUCH more hungry. After having him, I got my tubes tied 7 weeks later, and like you, had always used the "whats the use Im going to have another baby" excuse. Finally in December it hit me. Im tired of being tired, Im tired of feeling fat & gross. Well Im done, and its time to get MY BODY back! I figured Ive donated it to children LONG enough, and I want it now. So I am doing this for me, because I dont want to be one of those frumpy "oh its obvious she's a mom" moms! Im SURE you understand! I know ALL about doing the kid thing, how hard & stressful it is. Im a stay at home mom also, not sure if I mentioned that, but I know how hectic things can get. I look forward to bedtime (thankfully all of my kids are on a GREAT schedule!) and alone time with the Hubby! We have date night about once a month together, and out with friends alone about once a month each also. Our date night is Wednesday!! Dont you feel its BS that we have to get TOM after having our tubes tied?! UGH, now there's no point, so I get extra b*tchy seeing it! Nicki - Hooray for dropping those sizes hon! I just fully got out of any "plus size" stuff, and wouldnt you know they had a pants sale and it was all plus sizes. I just giggled to myself. Both my daughters are June girls (11th & 25th) when's yours?! Beach - Congrats on your loss! Anything is better than gaining right?! Im glad you're well too! Keep up those plates, I think it's really working! A lazy day at home for me, laundry, etc. However, Im in a GREAT mood despite a teething baby! I have the smile on! Off to start lunch here! Vegas- that is crazy my baby girl is named Maddie also. We had a hard time finding a middle name that wasnt already in the family so we did Maddie Grace. Yeah I had my boys first so i gain all the weight and kept them. Ethan 6 I gained 60lbs with him Lost half of it. Then a year later got preggo with the next boy Nathan 4 I gained 33 with him. Now at the hospital after I had him I was in my prepreggo jeans with him. I was estatic. I lost that weight. I was around 180ish then the girls came. I had Kira 2 and I had some problems with her. I had all big babies and my Nathan was almost 10lbs well by the time I had kira being stitched up two times already I tore and it was not fixable. I laid there for and HOUR while he stitched me up. I still havent had surgery to completely fix it because of my weight. Anyway they kept me an extra day to see if my iron improved because they wanted to give me a blood transfusion. It took me a long long time to recover from her because I had no energy no nothing so there for I didnt lose the weight. I had her in May and that next July I had Maddie. So there was no real time to recover from that. I always say I will still be the one that will get preggo even though they tied my tubes!! LOL. I agree there is no point in TOM visiting us...LOL. I had a scare about a year after my tubes were tied I was 10 days late I was like NO WAY...but yeah it was just messed up. I know EXACTLY what your talking about with the mom thing!!! I also have a 15 year old foster daughter and hate that I am over weight because teens are very cruel and blunt. But luckly no one has said anything but I always feel self-conscience when I am around her friends. Most of her friends are like your mom is so pretty...I try not to say anything but I am usually in my head like YEAH BUT I AM FAT..*sigh*
Well I am on my way to getting thin again I have done well at keeping under calorie's. My husband is now even trying to find different low calorie things to make for me. Since I have been consistant for almost 3 weeks at tracking them he knows I mean it. He even bought me low fat croissants today. He was way excited to show me. Wow I talked WAYYYY tooo much but that comes from having online little people to talk to all day!!! Talk to everyone tomorrow Make it a great day!!! |

mom LOL. When I lived in Memphis my ex SO was in Louisiana working, so I was at home all day pregnant with no one to talk to. When DD was born while I was on leave all I had was this baby to talk to. My online mom's forum was my LIFESAVER!!!! So I know how it is! beach Enjoy your day!!!! Feeling good today. No loss on the scale but no gain either. Makes me happy. Today is my last afternoon off. I get off at 3pm and done for the rest of the day. Wed-Fri I get off at 3pm and have to head straight over to my waitressing job until late. Whew! Hopefully I'll see some money to make it worthwhile! |
Feeling ok today, but still not going to push too hard. I have plans tomorrow and don't want to feel icky tomorrow.
Still losing despite not working out but it's sloooooooooooooow going. My poor husband hasn't lost anything in like 2 weeks and is getting understandably frustrated. I am trying to encourage him to ride the stationary bike or use the wiifit or something and drink more water. If he gives up it's going to make it impossible for me to say nothing of how worried I am about his health at his weight. :-( I think I am going to up my goal weight by 5 pounds because I think 130 may be too low. |

Looks like spring is coming to the cape,the weather begetting warmer and the winds are slowly descending. I'm going to try to walk along one of our main streets for 2 miles for 30 mins.Have to start slowly and work myself up to 3 or 4 miles like I did last summer. Looked in the mirror and I noticed that I can see a bit of a curve coming back on my waist line and my face doesn't look that swollen any more. Even if the scale doesn't go down I can now see that I'm losing inches instead. Is it all from portion control?????????? MOMO-Hope you had a great time at your moms. I used to leave my DD at my moms for a couple of day just to break up the atmosphere,and she's loved it,she still members those days. Did you watch the B/L last night???What a twist that happened in the W-I.Can't believe Tara only lost 2 lbs,but than did you hear Jillian tell her that she working to hard and should slow down. I guess That applies to us also. NICKIEYou're doing great in the weight loss dept, glad you stayed the same Have a good day ,and hope the dinners are gorgeous today.I always give 20% of bill,as waitressing is not an easy job and you need extra tips to survive. PRINNY-I know how frustrating it can be as I was there. Are you using portion size plates or are you eating foods with too much sodium in them. That's some of the reasons that stalls.Take a tape measure and see if your losing inches instead.My scale[ with a built in scale devil] is moving slowly also,but I found another means of success using the tape. Well did good last night. Got home to find two new DVDs on my doorstep. Flirty Girl Fitness "Ultimate Upper Body" and "Chair Dance: Tone and Tease". They came with free weighted gel balls. I was so excited! I skipped the gym and did the "Ultimate Upper Body" DVD and my Day 9 of 30DS. So while I know I did well yesterday I feel like I didnt' do good enough. Not sure why. Mb cuz I didnt' get to the gym and had planned on it. Mb cuz I didn't feel like I sweated enough. Weird I know. But oh well. Today starts three long days. Job #1 till three, weights and followed with Job #2 till anywhere between 8-10. I'm aiming for $60 in tips tonight. Tomorrow $75 and Friday $100!!! Wish me luck. I'm also planning on doing 30DS when I get home from work tonight and tomorrow cuz I don't think I'll be home TOO late but I know I'll still be tired so wish me luck on that too! |
Hrm, my slow down must have been hormonal because I have lost some this week. Of course I also bumped my calories to 1300 a day and have been drinking more water. But SEE that extra prinny penguin in my sig? Yup that's another 5 pounds gone! I can't wait till I have a whole army of them!

Hey everyone! Ive been MIA because the charger for the laptop started messing up & not charging the battery, so I had to order a new one & wait it out. Obviously, since Im here, its here, and did the trick! Im just thankful it wasnt anything else!
Momo - How funny about all of our similarities! My Maddie is actually Maddox. I loved the name, and she's still the only girl that I know with that name, the rest are boys. Not sure if I mentioned, but her middle name is Joy. Also, I had a post partum hemorrage after both my girls. After Makenna, it was bad, and they suggested a 3 bag blood transfusion, which I refused. I warned them after Maddie, and sure enough, it happened again. They were aware, so fixed me up before a real bad bleed could start. I was VERY weak, and it took me forever to build up strength again! With James I had an amazing Dr & he kept it from happening at all! How awesome you have a foster daughter. Im sure she's so lucky to have your family in her life. Any teen that has comments on your weight, is just immature. You're a hot MOM! I actually had a small hard time getting pregnant in the first place, so I knew having my tubes tied would fix all of that possibility right up. I do occasionally wonder what I would do if, by some crazy circumstance, I got pregnant again. Id probably flip out, especially after losing weight like this! Beach - You're lucky not to have the monthly visitor anymore. I certainly wish I didnt! I hope your blood work goes well. My mom is 51, and although she is tiny (5'5" 125lbs) and works out 4-5 times a week, her cholesterol is high. They told her its genetics. Id hate to see whats in store for me! Also, I remember my husband first noticing I was getting an hourglass figure! It felt so good, so congrats on that! Nicki - Hey dropping sizes is dropping sizes, no matter what! It'll come off, and you workout harder than anyone I know. Im still not sure how you do anything else on TOP of the 30ds! Even after 13 weeks, it drops me to the floor after! Hope you're making that money! Prinny - Hooray for 5lbs! Excellent job! I love the penguins! DH & I had a date night last night. We had sushi, and I stayed away from all Tempura stuff, and had lite soy sauce. Then we did some gambling with the free slot play we recieved in the mail. (Perks of living in Vegas!) I have been lazy with exercise this week, but Ive been staying OP when it comes to food. Im planning to kick some bootie with cardio today, and hopefully see a 1lb. loss on Friday/Saturday! |
I did so good yesterday! I did my weights. I went to work. I made $91 vs. the $60 I was aiming for. So I'm pumped about that! I came home and was way too tired to do the 30DS. So I got up 30 min earlier this morning and did it before work. That's devotion! LOL. I finished Week 1 so it's onto Week 2....I can see it looming it's evil head before me!!
I'm aiming for $75 tonight. I'm OP so far today and all my exercise is outta the way!!! Usually I work one job until 3pm each day. Then I work in the youth activity center (the gym's daycare) two days a week from 4pm till about 830 at the latest. I skipped that job this week and decided to pick up two shifts at the restaurant where I usually work only Friday and Saturday nights. I found myself in a MUCH better mood knowing that I was going to the restaurant instead of the gym daycare. The kids make me cranky and I take it out on my own daughter. It puts me at home later and deprives me of about an hour with my daughter but I made more money, so I'm thinking it would be worth it to keep that permanent.....thoughts? beach should I really slow my exercise??? here's my normal routine.....30DS everyday (or so....I may skip a day or two but for the most part everyday). I do weights 3x a week; it takes about 25 min. Then another 3x a week I'll do some extra cardio.....it may be the elliptical, or a gym group class, or another DVD. Do you think that's too much???? I had noticed that my body slowed on the weight loss but I thought it was because I was building muscle. Let me know your suggestions. |
NICKIE-I'm not an expert,by no means in the exercising dept.Looks like your doing 1 hr per day for 6 days. It doesn't look bad,comparing what they do on the B/L. Just be careful that you don't exhaust yourself. That's a big possibility that your gaining muscle,and that in the long run will burn more calories. Keep up the good work.
VEGAS-I'm not worried about my cholesterol blood test as the last time I had it done[6 mons ago] my number were down to normal. What I'm concerned about is my thyroid if I have enough iodine to keep it working properly. My weight has been at a stand still[gaining & losing the same lb] for over a 1/2 yr. I must have some answers. |

My day started early I busted my foster dd smoking before school....her friends were like is she stalking you and shes like no shes a mom detective she knows everything. it cracks me up because when she gets in trouble shes like why did I even do that you find out everything. My husband said he never knew I was a detective until she came to live with us. I am actaully tired tonight. I will have to do personals tomorrow. Beach-I cant believe tara only lost 2 that is crazy but she does push herself and she has put in a lot of effort. I want to just smack the blue team because they never should have got rid of dane they should have ditched ron early and they might have ahd a chance at the game...I totally understand they are attached to ron but if your sick of losing get rid of your weak link...like he was quick to suggest mandi to go...LOL...I dont really care for him much....but whatever...ok I need to go the baby woke up AGAIN...lol lata |

Going to take another walk as the temps are going up this afternoon,and it will be comfortable to get my walking done. Crossing :crossed:my fingers for the rest of of the weekend as I saw a 1lb loss on my scale yesterday and than again today,but my official W-I is not going to be until Monday. At the beginning they were interested in weight loss but now the twists & turns on the show just to get rating is disgusting me to no end. I agree that Ron should have gone if the blue term really wanted to win but they're a bond some where for him.Remember when Ron & Mike were the brown term Mike had to do all the work to keep that team alive and not voted off. Now Ron miraculously loses 10 lbs. and they vote off Cathy,eve though she lost only one pound. I get a lot of information about the B/L from either NBC or ivillage.com message boards. Nicki-Hooray for making more tips than expected! I hope last night went just as well for you! Im going to dub you our "Mini Tara" because you have the drive just like she does! Come to Vegas so you can push me to work out as much as you. Beach - Thats totally understandable. I hope the Dr can find the reason you're at a standstill. I would guess a plateau, but I cant imagine a plateau being there THAT long. Hang in there hon! Momo - Sorry you caught your foster daughter smoking. Thats normal teenage stuff. I plan to tell my kids "I wrote the book, you just read it" because NONE of my kids will do the things I did as a teen. My parents are still amazed I turned out the way I did, and tell me often how they're so happy Im a good mother. Hope you got your rest! I weighed in at 175.4 this morning. Still standing steady. What do I expect, I didnt work out ALL week, and was going to yesterday, but went to the DMV to register our new van instead yesterday. My license plate will say "AWWSOME" cute right? Today is cardio bust butt, for SURE!! |

I was training a new girl at work last night. I made 62, not the 75 i wanted but I still did good. I made more money than I would have made at the Youth activity center. Then i get off work. LOL. I was talked into going to do karaoke (not that it took much convincing) and I hadn't eaten yet. So I ordered the chicken tender app (came with fries), ranch and mild sauce. Bad right? Well I let all the servers know I had the food...servers are like vultures when it comes to food. And alot of them helped me eat it. So I only ate about one tender and a few fries. So that's not too bad. I did also have some beer at the bar. Needless to say coming in at 130 i did not do 30DS, nor did I do it this morning. But it's strength training today. OP with food and lots and lots of water!!! The scale went down a pound and I want it to stay down!!!! The lost pound bringing me to 191 also helped me to reach my next mini goal. My BMI is exactly 29.9 which changes me to "overweight" not "obese"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! So I may be tired today but I am certainly motivated! |

Vegas - Yes, I have hungry days and not hungry days. It seems totally random but when I get a not hungry day on a day I am really busy I just totally forget to eat! OOPS!
Also your post made me want @@@sushi@@@! Nicki - If the day care makes you cranky then do the other job more. I think your daughter would rather have happy fun mom for an hour less than cranky no fun mom for that extra time. Mostly better. I even had a couple beers out the other night. I was going to have something else less caloric but I had room for some calories and said fug-it. I think I feel good enough to workout today. Problem is my husband is still asleep and I know as soon as I start he will get up and ask me about breakfast. 1) Can't work out with him in the room, makes me nervous 2) I asked him if he wanted food when I got up hungry and he grumbled at me and rolled over so he's on his own! Tough stuff McGruff! *points at cereal box* |
Prinny- I could eat sushi everyday. I wonder how bad it honestly is for you? Nothing tempura of course. Funny, but I cant workout in front of my husband either, STILL! I dont think I ever will.
