dgramie I had my wisdom teeth pulled last year. Mine weren't to bad but make sure you keep the sockets clean. My person didn't tell me to but I did it anyway. Later I was told by another person that had theirs out that they were given special tools to help keep things clean. I wish you the best of luck. Great news about the blood pressure meds and sorry to hear about your IBS. Hopefully it all clears up without the extreme measures. I know it must have felt good to get a nice pat on the back also.
Well I better get going, its snack time. I have pickled egg whites and an apple. I know its sounds gross but I love pickled stuff, its just vinegar no salt or anything. It actually hits the spot for me.

Thanks ladies for all the well wishes!! You all have made my day!Better than DH telling me that at least my thumb got caught in a nice sports car! Men! It still hurts like the devil, but I am taking pills when I can't take it anymore.
I am excited to hop back on the wagon, after TOM. I feel so bloated and awful. Yuck!!!!
Grammy- No I have yet to try the crepe recipe. Is it on the provida site?
I haven't had pickled eggs yet. I love pickled veggies though.
I will be so happy to be back on plan. I don't necessarily like the you're gaining a bit comments. LOL
That's so cool your ODD got a job at the nursing home. You know I have really shut that part off with death, but I still have a couple I get attached and when they pass it will be very hard for me.
Dgramie- Well good luck to you with the BP pills, I know I am loving not having to be on them. Good job on getting your stomach issues in check. Take it easy!
Canadian- Lil Red ants? Well if you did toast them, they would add a bit of protein. LOL I'm kidding.
Retire- I know it will throb for a while, I know I am scared of closing my car door.
Hey everyone. I hope that you are all having a great week.
I... Not so much. First the toe, then horrid pain in my left chest. A trip to the ER and an EKG, a chest x-ray, blood tests and a hi contrast CT all to tell me I have severely strained chest wall muscles and tendons. So, hard cardio is out. Lifting is out. (I am kinda stoked that I can't vacuum...) Rest and lots of Advil are on the menu for a while. I have been on and off track all week, too. Calories have been working out a bit high, for me. And yesterday... Yikes. I am back on track today and I am going to do my best to stay there.
I have a busy day tomorrow. I have to go to the Valley with my husband. And we have to leave early. Yuk. I really just want to sleep in and rest. Oh well. We must do what we must do.
Must run. Stuff to get done tonight. I'll catch you all when I can. Have a good one, everyone.
Canadianwoman, aren't you glad you didn't swallow those little red ants alive. (((Shudder)))
dgramie, I had an abscess on the root of one of my teeth a few years ago. It took nearly a year to clear up and I had to have surgery on the gum and have the root scraped. Hope you don't have to go through that. I did eventually get a root canal and crown done. I actually had 3 root canals on the same tooth because the infection just wouldn't clear up. That probably didn't help your dentist phobia, did it?
Tinky, since I hurt my thumb (I jammed it in the bathtub drain) I'm always so conscious of turning the bath taps on and off with soapy hands. An injury really makes you think about what you're doing.
I think I had a good week calorie wise. Just one day of madness but I only went over by about 100 calories on that day. And I've exercised every day since Monday. I was too tired on Sunday but I had a long walk on Saturday which is usually my rest day. So I hope it shows on the scales tomorrow morning. I'm into "ancient" fat stores now. I've haven't been in the 140s for nearly 30 years so I'm figuring the fat that's left is really old stuff. (This is not scientific, mind you, just me thinking that way. ) If only my belly would shrink. That's where the "oldest" fat is stored.
Retiredone ~ I know that feeling about the belly. That is the first place to gain last place to lose.
Tinky ~ Yes, I got the recipe from Provida but I will tell you it, its simple.
Crepe: take two egg whites, put a cap full of vanilla extract (sm bottle) which is probably a 1/8 to a 1/4 tsp. and two packets of splenda and whip them up and put them in a nonstick skillet and roll them around while they cook so they are thin.
Apple filling: I peel, corr (easier to peel first) and slice my apples. Then I put a packet of splenda and some cinnamon on them then place in a covered bowl. Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. My apples are always done perfectly this way. You can use most any fruit you desire and are allowed to have.
I usually mix my crepe first in a bowl the pour it in an unheated pan. Then I rinse the bowl and put my apple slices in it so I can put the splenda and cinnamon on them and mix them up. Then cover and put in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. The I start cooking the crepe. That way the apples are done and the crepe at about the same time.
This is good with other fruits also and I really like it because no more cravings or ICK of any sort because this taste a lot like ICK to me. I have to say it is one of my favorites and it is very quick.
Some have also suggested leaving all the stuff to make it sweet and just use egg whites with spices and fill it with veggies. That works also. I haven't tried it but I bet it would be good.
Rain ~ OH MY GOSH that hurts when that happens. I have never actually pulled the muscles in my chest but my DH has when he had a cold. Take it easy and rest so your body can heal.
Well I better get going its almost time to go home. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will talk to you all on Monday.
Hi gals! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I started my new job and I'm trying to get used to the schedule. I haven't worked full time in over a year. It's nice, but getting used to waking up early has been a chore. So far, so good, I like the job.
I'll check back and read posts later. Everyone have a great weekend!
I am calorie counting with 1400 calories as my max. I am also doing a lot of exercise. I started 2 mths ago and have lost 25 lbs. For the last two weeks, I have increased my exercise and I am not losing anything. I am thinking that my body went into shutoff mode because I am not eating enough. I averaged around 1250 calories the last two weeks and burned 400. Am I suppose to count the burned calories in with the 1400 max.? So...maybe I should be eating 1800 calories if I am burning 400? Let me know what your advice is. Thanks!
Hi Hattie. Sorry I can't answer your question but I'm sure someone will know the answer. It's really quiet here on the weekends but check back Monday night or Tuesday morning and there might be an answer then.
I am starting to feel human again. My scales were up 2lbs on sat(weigh day) and today are back to my lowest. I tried not to worry but it still is hard to post a gain. I am starting to exercise today..100 pushup challenge..( its a 6 week program). I am also jumping on the mimitrampoline today. I am behind in housework..didnt feel like doing much of anything the past 2 days. Having a wisdom tooth and molar pulled was worse than i expected. I have to go back in a week and get the stitches out.
hugs to all
Dgramie, you just take care of yourself and things will get back to normal. I so know what you're going through with the teeth.
I've been doing counter push-ups for ages and this week I've started doing them on the floor just like a "normal" person would. Well not like they are really supposed to be done because I can hardly bend my elbows but I can hold myself up which is more than I could do a few months ago. I did 2 the first time and 2 the second time and yesterday I did 4. I've got to work on lowering my body closer to the ground without collapsing.
im doing the knee push ups..i thought i would have to start with the wall ones so i am impressed with myself..i may try one the reg way and see if i can do it..lol
dgramie ~ I sure hope your feeling 100% soon. I didn't have any stitches with my wisdom teeth but I imagine having side by side teeth pulled leaves a big gap. That little gain will come right back off when your feeling better.
retiredone ~ I don't do any exercises that requires me to get on the floor because of my dogs. They think its play time and its to much of a hassle but I have found alternative ways to working the parts of the body that I would normally do as a floor exercise.
Well I lose 2 lbs this week so I am not complaining. I really get disappointed at times because I lose so slowly but even doing it slowly will get me to goal just it will take me longer. The advantage is I will have my habits fully formed by then.
GS really liked his Car's bed we bought for our house. We were shocked that he slept in this weekend instead of with us but it was nice to get a good weekends sleep. Next step into growing up is potty training. He now wants to be by himself to do his business. We took him for a nice long walk in the woods this weekend and he stopped to do his business and said you go Mimi, go that way now. He wanted us to leave him alone in the woods :-O. Then he did the same thing when we were working on the horse pasture, he said "GO Mimi and Papa, go that way". So he knows what he is doing, its just convincing him to do it on the potty.
Well I better get going and I will talk to you all later.
