Rain Dancer, I have a recipe for Pumpkin Soup that is quite tasty. It could also be made with carrots. I interchange pumpkin and carrots all the time even in pie. I got the idea from reading about Bugs Bunny and his love for carrot pie. I can't remember the name of the book but it was a favorite of my boys when they were little. So one day I decided to make a carrot pie for them and just used the pumpkin pie recipe substituting carrots for pumpkin. It was a huge hit.

Thanks for the pumpkin soup idea, Retiredone. I think I am just going to call the pumpkin a wash.

On track today, got a little exercise. Not as much as I was wanting to, because I couldn't get enough time and privacy. I'll try again, tomorrow.

Have a good night, everyone.

Sorry to hear that Grammy! I was hoping she'd see the light and kick him to the curb. Oh well...

Glad to see you back here. I haven't been posting much here since our move, but I lurk.

Retiredone ~ That is what my fear is, now that I have this problem it will always be there. I am hoping not but I am a very active person and can see flair ups in the future. Maybe I will try buying those shoes that have the little shock looking this in the heal.

Last night I iced my feet and hip and stretched things. I was very active so I figured this morning extreme pain but to my surprise no pain just a swollen feeling. So I am going to do what I did yesterday every night and see how things feel next week. I just wish my doc would have given me the information necessary to help them or sent me to a specialist. Thank goodness for the internet.

Zenor no such luck on DD. I think she does things just to irritate all those around her. All I care is the get on their feet and take care of themselves financially. If that is what she wants fine but they need to be financially independent because I can't help them and my Mom needs her money for her.

I guess he has to pay $100 on his child support by the end of the month or he goes back to jail. I don't really care and refuse to help. She was better off while he was in jail.

Tinky I feel for you and your DH in this financial crises with his job. I am positive everything will work out but I would hate to have everything up in the air like that. HUGS!

My youngest turned 18 today. Wow, I feel old although I know I am not. I am only 40. LOL! I was talking with a faculty member that is only 2 or 3 years younger and we were laughing because today is his youngest sons birthday, he is 2 yrs old. So we both children born today, mine a girl, his a boy and 16 years apart and we are in the same age group. We were comparing where our kids are in life and started laughing.

Well I am off.

GrammyL, if you buy shoes with the little cushion in the heel walk around in the store with them on for a while before you buy them. I bought a pair and after I got them home and was wearing them to work I had to take them off because I could feel the edge of the cushion where it met the sole of the shoe. It was stitched in and I could actually feel the stitches. My feet are very sensitive. One of the other teachers had a pair just like mine and she loved them because they were so comfortable. I gave mine away because they hurt my feet so much. I found that gel inserts worked for me. I just bought them at the drug store and put them in my winter boots when I walked to school. I found they absorbed the shock much better than the gel shoes. I think my feet have gotten a good rest since I retired from teaching and that's why they don't hurt as much any more. I have occasional flare ups but nothing like they used to be. Hope yours feel better soon (and your hip also).

Retiredone ~ I think I might try the gel inserts first because I really like my Nike's that I have. I just wasn't sure how well those worked. DH tried them once and didn't like them but he is a big guy and maybe they didn't have enough padding for him.

OK, I was tricked. I bought a big salad already made up. It had some pineapple in it so I considered that my carb, which now I realize there were only a few chunks and then bell pepper and what appeared to be just a dusting of cheese. I didn't use the dressing that came with it, I just put my tuna on. Well that cheese like substance was coconut. OH, nut the most taste combination for me, tuna w/mustard, over spinach with onion, pineapple and bell pepper fine but not coconut mixed in. YUCKO! It is just palatable. LOL! I won't make that mistake again.

Well I don't have to worry about DD getting another tattoo because she almost couldn't handle the pain. The faces she was making were something else and I thought she was going to start crying. She had it in one of the most comfortable spots to get one. ARG! DH had me take pics of her getting it because he couldn't be there and we paid for it. Then, she went and bought cigs. :-O She turned 18 yesterday and has been hiding from us that she smoked or so she thought. Our vehicle smelled like smoke when we came back from vacation and we had a chat about people smoking in our house and vehicles. We quit and now we really smell it on people.

Well have to go for today. Talk at you all later.

Ah to be 18 and rebellious! GrammyL~ I hope that's as far as the rebellion goes, for your sake! The more I talk to friends with teenagers (and the more I remember from my youth) the more I think I want boys when we have kids.

I've done okay the last few days calorie wise. TOM is rearing it's ugly head so it's been hard to not give into the cravings, but I'm doing okay.

I had two job interviews last week for the same company and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Waiting to hear is driving me nuts.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

GrammyL, tuna and coconut??? Ack! I love tuna, but I don't think I would like it mixed with coconut. I am also a former smoker. I gave it up over 14 years ago. One of the best things I ever did.

So, a good on track day going. I got in a 40 minute cardio workout while everyone was out of the house. Oh! Bliss! Time to myself, privacy to exercise without listening for the stairs creaking, signaling an invasion from below stairs.

I had a few shout-outs I wanted to do. Should have written them down. (I need a new brain!) So, I will just say... Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone having a great, on track day and getting their exercise. To everyone who is struggling, having a feeding frenzy day or is ill or injured and not up to exercise, . Hang in there, it will get better.

Today has been a good day! Not only is it Friday, it was a payday (we get paid every other week), I have been doing really well with staying on plan so far today and I even walked for an hour this afternoon after school with a friend of mine and her kids. It is such a beautiful day out!! Mid 70's with a breeze and sunny. Can't get much better than that....especially since the cold weather's coming in soon

I have great news! I'm employed! Yay! I can now stop stressing about what we would do when our savings runs out. I start mid-week.

Now that the pressure is relieved a bit, maybe I can stop stress eating. I haven't gained, but I haven't lost much either.

The evening my grandson was born I had gone to bed early but I could not sleep. I had the phone in bed with me expecting a call any minute. He was born at 11:44 pm and my son called me a half hour later to tell me.
Once I had the call, I was out like a light. LOL.
My grandson is 19 months old now.

A former smoker here too. I quit in Sept 1994 and it was the best thing I did for myself too. I honestly believe I would npot be here today if I had not quit when I did.

Oh, I hate that lack of privacy when wanting to do a workout. We only have one dvd player and tv here so I have to do my workout dvds in the livingroom when no one is home.

I have been MIA from this forum for a while so I have probably missed anything anyone might have said to me.
I am always worried that people might think I am ignoring them when I'm really not.

Edited to add: Tuna and coconut would be gross together. Ick.
