Calories for today 1492

Fat 16%

Fiber 53 grams

I actually decided half way through the day that my fiber was going to be too high and I adjusted accordingly. If I had eaten everything I'd planned on it would have been WAY over 70 grams. I don't know if my body could handle that much! I tried to research whether it is possible to get too much fiber. I'm still not sure, but I don't know if I could drink all the water I'd need to drink if I had over 70 grams, so I decided to adjust my mid-afternoon snack. What a problem to have, huh?!?!?!

I finally started up walking on my lunch again. I did a mile and a half today and I hope to the same the rest of the work week (3 more day with Good Friday off.) Hopefully that'll help with the "going home for a holiday" calories.

Bobbi~ There is a website, if you google the name it should come up. They are sold at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's here in California. I noticed on their site that there is a Zen Bakery in Massachusetts and Illinois so maybe there is distribution in your area too? Or maybe they could just ship some to you?

Petra~ Great job on making your Easter goal!

Everyone have a great evening!!!

Default fiber one sold out!

This is too funny. All this talk of Fiber One got me go to the store just now to finally get some and they were out!
Is it all my fellow 3FCs in the area?? I mean, what are the chances of that cereal being sold out?
Maybe it's the coupon they have in those automatic dispensers right below the box-buy two save 75 cents?
They only had 4 boxes of the Fiber One-Honey Clusters left so I picked up two of those and took advantage of the coupon. I guess I'll have to wait a few more days to try the regular Fiber One.

The Honey Clusters are tasty

Petra...congratulations on meeting your Easter goal! That's fantastic!

Cals today were 1700
fiber was 60! and all I did differently was the bowl of Fiber One for breakfast.

I lost 3.5 pounds this week at my TOPS meeting weigh-in tonight. Its funny, I still have quite a ways to go but I was already thinking how much I am going to miss the 1700 cals a day, I get now. Normally when I'm not as heavy, or nursing as much, I can barely eat more than 1200 and still lose.

Good Morning!
Yesterday's calories... 1,185
Fiber... 57 grams
I'll not print my menu since I slumed it yesterday with DH out of town. I ate odds and ends, left-over, etc. It was a good day to make a mess in my kitchen, I made some Coconut Meringues that tastes pretty good and 3 calories apiece. I also made Chocolate pudding from scratch using guar gum instead of cornstarch. If my calculations are right, 1/4 cup cornstarch is 210 calories and guar gum had a total of 10 calories to thicken it. So that's quite a difference and the pudding thickened up great using guar gum. The recipe called for egg substitute which I never buy since we have our own chickens/eggs. I found a recipe for home-made egg substitute on the internet that I tried out. I wasn't impressed but the pudding still turned out great. Next time I'll just use plain egg whites.

Calories for Monday... 1,185 and Fiber 57 grams.

Grammy... I buy the Italian Flat Outs for pizza, yum! But I keep the balance in the freezer because I don't use them as often. I like the plain Flat Outs better, more versatile.

Zenor... great fiber (53grams) and I did look at the Zen Bakery site, I'm really impressed with the calories and fiber in the Blueberry and Apple-Cranberry muffins. I'd have to send for them to try , I think I'll check out recipes on the web and see if I can find something that has that much fiber in them and still have low calores.

Susan... Remember a couple of days ago when you stated your average calories for the month? I checked Fitday for my averages for March and don't believe them. I'm close to 1200 calories most days and according to them, I averaged 995 calories for the month. NO WAY! It made me so mad, I was going to go over the whole month to see where they messed up but decided they screw up the calories burned section, they probably screw up the food section too!
But I will make a bigger effort in getting over that 1200 calorie mark.

CoolMom and Theresa, great fiber numbers for you too!

Yesterday I tried some of the frozen grapes everyone is talking about. They are very good but my teeth are sensitive to cold and I don't think I'll try that again.

I'm off to the fitness center, be good everyone!

Theresa ~ I still cringe and your DH's fingures. Sending fast healing prayers for him.

Zoe ~ That is fantastic! You are really doing well with counting calories. I have been looking to the future and trying to figure out how I am going to cute back to 1200 calories also because I am sure there will come a time I will need to. I have yet to figure it out.

Nomorefatpants ~ That is crazy that they didn't have any of the Fiber One. I guess everyone is clean in your town. HEHEHEHE!

I just hit panic. I just home how deleted the bar that shoes my web address and google section off the top of the page. I figured out how to bring it back. Not a clue what I did to delete.

Zenor ~ that is a lot of fiber. WOW! I can see why you cute back after that.

CoolMom ~ I have a TOPS book that I have been using to figure out portions and calorie counts. I probably purchased it 19 years ago and it has seen its better days but I really like it. It tells portions, calories and lays out some menus.

I am so happy today. I gained 14 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas trying to follow my old plan. I would make it thru the week but then at holiday events I lost it and gain what I lost plus added some. It was horribly flustrating and all the cloths I had bought were to small and I don't wear tight clothing. Today I decided to try on a pair of pants I did fit and they went on without undoing the button. I am so happy. Althought they have larger legs than I am used to and I caught my toe in the pant leg and almost fell down the stairs here at work. I don't know how it happened but I got my foot out and finished the steps out fast and caught my balance. I told my boss I am sitting in my chair cautiously and staying here. No more stairs today. Talk about getting the ticker going.

Calories Monday: 1632
I would have been lower but I ate dinner really late and cravings set in for sweets which is normal for me. If I put off a meal or skip a meal I start craving sugar to get my blood sugar normalized. I am prediabetic and was a diabetic so skipping meals or eating off schedule really throws me for a loop. Last night dinner was 3 hours late. Next time I will grab something like a sandwich or cheese or anything to prevent the sugar cravings.

Well I better head out and talk at you all later.

Oh Bobbi! Did you skip a couple of days or something? 995! Did you try one week or two? That'll at least tell you where those days are. But, if you're not worried, neither am I. As long as your average is some higher than 995

Yesterday's calories: 1300!!! Plan today should have similar results.

I read an article yesterday and wonder what everyone thinks. This was in a Women's Health Magazine and it was an article about dieting. It said to determine your daily caloric needs, take your weight and multiply by 10 and that's what you need to maintain (add a couple hundred if you exercise). Then take a couple hundred away to lose. To me that sounded rather simplistic.

Congrats Petra on making your Easter goal....

Yes, Bobbi it is a long time since I've been here and my weight has not gone down. I have now lost 1 lb. since I'm back posting, I guess I need to be here!!!

My worst eating time is 3 - 5 p.m. and I do like the word grazing!!!! Fits me to a T....trying to stay at around 1500 cal./day. I did go to the pool and did a bit of exercise yesterday instead of walking, walking today.

You are all an inspiration to me....Phyllis

Calories for yesterday was about 1100ish...... My coffee I take splenda and a little skim milk....I DONT count that...So I figuere everyday I probably have an extra 75-80 calories from the coffee...BUT I also have little kids taking the food right off my plate sometimes too!! Allison ... I'm all in favour of simple. That starting point!!! ... figuring it out drives most folks to the fast food counter.

I'd go for weight times 10. It's at least a place to start. Then they can hang around with us and we can tweak

That seems low to me for maintenace calories. I looked on one of those sites with the daily calorie needs calculators and it said that if I was at my goal weight I would need just under 2000 calories to maintain. And that's with a light activity lifestyle (ie. just above sedentary.) We'll wait and see how accurate that is...

I did read something similar that said to multiply your goal weight by 10 and that you shouldn't go under that amount of calories (per day) or you would slow down your metabolism. I had never heard that before though, so I don't know if it's true. It's so hard to tell what's fact and what isn't these days.

I had approximately 1700 calories today. I shoot for under 1800, so that is good for me. I also had a nice brisk walk. The best news of all... I weighed today (it has been a week since the last time I weighed) and I'm down 2 pounds!

That's awesome Lovemyboy!

Cals today: 1600
fiber 65

I finally used the goal feature on Fitday, so I can look back and see my cals per day average. I thought the bar graph was a little hard to use for specifics.
