Hi Red Team! I'm excited to join you in my first BLC! My name is Sara, I'm 28 and a mom to an almost 3 year old girl. The past three years brought a lot of stress to me, a new marriage, a surprise baby that had colic and reflux and never stopped crying, a new house, a new business, and then a failed business, and then a huge financial pitfall. Needless to say, the more stressed I got, the heavier I became and the harder the weight stuck. To add to everything, I was diagnosed with PCOS through symptoms alone and the more I dieted and exercised, the more I gained. On Sept 24 I decided to try a low-carb lifestyle because I had read it would help with PCOS and I have no looked back since! I started at 197 and currently weigh 177 with no symptoms of PCOS. I'm pretty tall and carry my weight well so my first goal will be 160 and I will re-access from there!
Besides the weight loss, I'm realizing that I always was putting myself last and my goal for this year is to no longer do that. With each goal I meet I've been treating myself to little things because I AM WORTH IT! I'm noticing my confidence is coming back as well as my self-esteem, which I'm thrilled about, because having a daughter, I've been really worrying about passing my poor body image on to her.
Sorry for the novel, I'm super excited to go on this journey with you all!!
Hi, I'm Mandey....Sorry I havent been active much since before Christmas. My mom flew into town on Dec 22 (the day after her bday) and then my daddy drove in the next day. So had family staying with us for the holidays. Mom flew home on Monday, and my daddy is leaving tomorrow to drive home. (My parents divorced in 1989).
I'll be 29 in Feb. I am an Army wife - we've been a couple for over 10 years, and will celebrate 8 years married in May Our kids are wonderful - Abigail turns 7 in March and Alex turns 4 in April. Hubby will return home this month!!!! from his 3rd deployment. We're so excited for his homecoming
This is my 4th BL challenge. I did the spring and summer '08 and was an unofficial winter '09 until the end when they let me become official I've always been a RED team member and love the girls and support
I got to goal before hubby left for deployment last Feb '09 but with chaos of deployment, kids, school, kids starting activities, house, cars, bills, etc.....i regained the weight i lost before hubby left.....so i was 131 when hubby left, and now, after the holidays am just under 150. so i need to re-lose the weight...again.
I ate too much for the holidays, plus ate out a lot (my daddy always eats out for most meals).....so when he leaves tomorrow - i'm taking the kids to try ice skating at the city's synthetic rink....and get back to do my workouts on the wii. my mom bought me the BL wii game, and havent tried it yet. so looking forward to all the fun workouts - wii fit plus, BL wii, rollerblading with the kids (i bought them skates and blades for christmas, and am currently trying to find me a pair that fits my size 11 feet) and jumping on the trampoline we got the kids for an early christmas present (its a 13') lol
Wow! So many ladies on here! I'm loving all the energy and readiness to begin (again) and find the things that work for us to be healthy for life. My focus this challenge will be finding the calorie range that works best for me to drop some body fat (and undoubtedly pounds as well). I want to participate in at least one sprint triathlon and one marathon this year to keep me focused on fitness. It's gonna be fun!!
Hey RED TEAM!! I'm super excited about this challenge. This is my first BL challenge. I bought myself a membership to the gym a few days ago and have been there every day since. I also rearranged my class schedule for the quarter so I can make it to the group fitness classes that they offer!
MonteCristo... I love that your name is Antonia... people ask me all the time if that's my real name. No, It's just Toni. LAME. lol

I wondered about that when I saw your name....I got called Toni bologna all the time when I was little. Sometimes they'd make up whole songs....toni bologna, eat macaroni.....
My name is Tricia. I am 29yrs old and have an 11 yr old daughter. I am currently using herbal magic and exercise. I work as a nurse in the hospital and in the community. I just bought an elliptical and am trying to do exercise starting 3x/wk and then hopefully 5.
This is my first challenge so i am totally new to all of this.
Hello everyone! Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town. My name is Heather and I am 25 years old. I have been married for a little over a year with no children...yet. I'm counting calories and doing the C25K program and am hoping to reach my goal weight in 2010!
This is my first challenge as well and I am so excited!
Hey ladies!! sorry this is kind of late, but I've been couch-surfing due to a horrible cold for about a week.
I'm a 23 year old wife, mom of 1 and full time student. I am studying medical assisting at a career college near me, and I graduate w/my associate's degree in april.
I was thin-ish through my child-hood and high school, then when things got crazy my senior year I started gaining. i was yo-yoing until I hit 210, and managed to get down to 200 when i got preggers. I had my son the Dec. before the wedding and maintained 235 until April so my dress would fit, then I blew up! I started my weight loss at 272 a couple months ago as a pre-emptive measure against gaining with a new anti-depressant rx.
So, I'm down to 254 and change and my goal is to be a healthy weight by next Dec, because me and my husband want to start trying for a new baby. My healthy weigh range is from 165-like 130 something, my personal ideal weight is 145, but if in Dec I'm only at 160 I'll consider it a success!!
This is my first challenge and my goal for this TBL Challenge is to be done with the 220's.
Hi everyone!
I'm Diane. This is my first BL challenge and I'm really looking forward to it. I have three kids, 11, 9 and 9, and I'm a stay-at-home mom and I also homeschool them. Nice to see other homeschoolers here!
I've always struggled with 10-20 pounds, losing and gaining, but have some how crept up to 70lbs overweight. My biggest downfall is I stopped exercising. My plan is to get up an hour early and exercise using wii fitness trainer, until I get in shape enough to start running again. I'm counting calories and using a GoFit Wear armband. What's going to help me the most is cutting out my nightly wine drinking
I have participated in BL challenges in the past but nothing through this last year but now it is time to get my butt in gear and start losing again- I am just going to be watching what I eat, calories and of course exercising however I haven't been able to exercise since Wednesday - having an issue with my foot and DR took me off it till Monday right now, it is amazing how much you really need your foot....
These are really big teams which is great because you do get alot of motivation and that is exactly what I am needing
I will try to log on each day to check in but sometimes it just doesn't happen
I do have 2 boys 18(well he will be 19 in a month same birthday) and a 20 year old. Married now for 21 years to a wonderful husband
I oversee a Convience Store Chain so needless to say I am around not so healthy food every day but try to pack my own lunch and snacks to keep the temptation at bay
Hi ladies!
This is my first BL challenge and I'm very excited! I am 32 and single. I have been overweight all my life and, hence, self-conscious and somewhat introverted. I work 60-70 hrs a week and my goal in 2010 is to create exercise habits and, specifically, to work out in the morning since its the only time and I can fit it in. Luckily, my employer hasn't blocked 3fc so I can log in at work during lunch and maybe a couple of times in between!!
Go RED TEAM!!!
Hello everyone! This is my first BL challenge and hope I can keep up with all the posts etc.
I am (hopefully) in the home stretch of my weight loss journey. I am closing in on the 100 pound mark and am feeling like another 20 pounds or so will do it for me. I am hoping that this challenge will see me through to that place.
The biggest thing that has happened for me this year is exercise. I started running and am setting some running and exercise goals to get me through to the end of this year. I can hardly believe how much has changed for me since New Years day 2009!
I am a mother of four boys (3, 9, 11 & 15) and a six year old girl. Always busy and never bored.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all as we go along.
welcome to all the newbies and glad to see some of the old teamsters I've gotten to know in previous challenges....
Tonight we did some shopping (spending some gift cards we got for Christmas) lol My daddy left at lunchtime to drive home, last time we talked a lil while ago, he was in MS - so he's half way home (we live in TX and he lives in GA).
tonight i spoiled myself a bit....i bought TBL Last Chance Workout DVD and teh new Your Shape game for the Wii. We went to Target (looking for my rollerblades and to let the kids finish off the gift cards they had)....and saw these on sale. The LCW was normally $12.99 and was on sale for $10 and the Your Shape (Jenny McCarthy camera Wii game) is normally $69.99 - but it was on sale for $49.99 - so it was too good a price to pass up so i look forward to trying those out tomorrow, along with TBL Wii game mom bought me for Christmas....So I have LOTS of workout stuff to try out and get back into an exercise groove....before hubby gets home. i have 3-4 weeks (roughly) to get into somewhat better shape before getting to see him again. So I have a lot of work to do. LOL
So when will we start doing an exercise challenge?? I need something extra to make me wanna get off 'holiday mode'. Got school starting back for DD and activities resume next week.....so the kids regular stuff will be back in full swing....and need something to get me back into it too Plan to try out all my new workout dvds/games tomorrow....hope its fun enough to keep me interested for a while But am glad I finally got some rollerblades to fit me (remembered we had a Dicks in a nearby town and shopped there tonight)....but to my surprise - i had to buy them in a size 11 Mens. lol but i think they were a good deal, considering they came with a storage bag and wrist.knee.elbow pads lol so once my back is normal again (i pulled something painful while on the trampoline last week) i can really have some fun can play on the big trampoline out back with the kids or go out in the cul-de-sac and skate with my kiddos Might try the skate rink next weekend (our housing community is hosting a skate party to celebrate school starting back at the on post skate rink next Sat).....problem is the skate rinks are only open here on weekends - which will collide with GS and gymnastics. lol oh well.
plan to get DS a bike for his Jan Christmas in a few weeks....now just need to get us grownups a bike or two so we can all ride together
