Weight-ing on Spring Red Team - Getting Acquainted With Your Team Chat

Here we go ladies... :) Good Luck Red Team!

Hello Red Team!

Welcome to the Weight-ing on Spring 3FC Biggest Loser Challenge! I'm your team leader. My name is Antonia, but feel free to use MonteCristo or plain Monte. This is the fourth 3FC BLC that I've been a part of, and I have enjoyed them all! When the threads first open it may seem a little overwhelming with all the posts flying around, but jump right in! DO NOT FEEL SHY!! We are all in this together! :cheer2:

Aclai4067 12-30-2009 11:55 AM

Wow the team list is so big! Hey ladies, I'm Ashley. This is my second BLC and I'm glad to be back on the red team! A little about me:

- Diet~ I'm on weight watchers and work out at the YMCA
- I'm currently a substitute teacher, trying to be a full-time art teacher
- If I don't find a job in Georgia before April, I'm moving to Nashville, TN
- I currently live alone which can be a blessing diet-wise, but my lease is up in April and I will be looking for a roommate whether I stay in Georgia or not.
- I'm 24 y/o and have been overweight/obese since early childhood
- I've recently started running, and while I'm progressing very slowly, I love it!

I hope to see a lot of participation this challenge and I'll try to be a little more involved myself. I'm not as good at the personals as some of our ladies, but I'll be around! :flame: Burn It! :flame:

Hello everyone! I'm a little shy (very introverted!) but I promise to try to post and get to know everyone. I'm excited about this challenge! I have a lot to lose, and this is a great way to get started. I work PT on the weekends, and stay home w/ my 2 children during the week. I homeschool them (they're 9 and 5), as well as trying to look after my dad who has just given up on life since my mom died in May. I swear, he's like another child for me. But I love him, so I'll do what it takes to help him out. Luckily he lives about 25 minutes away from me (and not WITH me like he used to) so that gives me a break a lot of days. I have fibromyalgia, so it's a little hard for me to do much on my flare days, but I'm trying to NOT use that as an excuse any more. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome! I see you homeschool, awesome! :carrot: I was homeschooled all the way, and I definitely will go that route with my own (theoretical) kids. I'm also an introvert, but not a shy one....sometimes I think it would be better to be shy, because then people would know to leave me alone! ;) I see you've got some tough stuff to handle, but stick with us, and we can always send you a little  if you need one.

:carrot: Hey everyone, I'm so excited to start this challenge...Go Red Team...

A little about myself: I'm Meredith, and this is my second BLC, but although I did finish out the last challenge, I did not actually lose much in the way of weight. And I gained back a lot over the holiday season this year, much more than any other year I can remember. I've always been overweight, although I did a lot of sports when I was younger, so at least was relatively healthy. Now that I've got 2 kids (4 year old boy, and 3 year old girl) of my own, I just can't keep up with them carrying around so much extra weight. So I've got a plan for the new year, and am committed to seeing it through. My goals...well, I'm hoping to drop 30 lbs this challenge, to get me down under 230.
Dieting, I'll be doing a restricted carb diet, which has worked well for me in the past because of my IR. For exercise, I swim 3 days a week with my swim team, and just joined a gym to get some weights in. My goal is to exercise 6 days a week. My normal weigh in day will be Sunday. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!!

Hello again Red!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and is ready to be back in full challenge mode - I know I am. ;) This is my 3rd challenge, 2nd in a row. I really enjoy the team spirit and accountability these challenges provide.

A little about me, I'm 38, married with one child, and work ft outside the home. During my "me" time, I enjoy working out, home improvement, digital scrapbooking, and hanging out with my Beta Sigma Phi sisters. (...any of you out there?!)

I'm very excited about the Spring challenge - really hoping to get into one-derland this time around. To get there I am doing WW, WATP tapes, and now Biggest Loser for Wii. (Thanks Santa!) I'm looking forward to another positive experience here!

Hello ladies and especially to Antonia who did a wonderful job as leader last challenge. This is my 3rd challenge. The first challenge last summer I did very well and the 2nd challenge not so much. But I am back and ready to go. I have one more holiday party to put behind me and then no more temptation for awhile.

I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I have lost a lot and gained a lot. I have tried every diet imaginable but the thing that works best for me is eating healthy and exercise. I try to also watch calories and have learned so much about foods in the past 10 months. I have found what works for me and what does not and I just need committ and follow through.

I work full time as a social worker with dependent and neglected children and I have 6 children of my own. ranging in ages from 14 to 21 months. I have a very busy life keeping up with my husband and children.

I will do my best to post and keep up with everyone. I have never missed a weigh in.

I look forward to the challenge.

Hey ladies. This is my second challenge if you count the 20 somethings BL challenge that is almost over. I look forward to talking with you all. :)

Personals first:

Monte- So glad your back to lead our team. Last challenge was my first and your support has meant the world to me. By the way, did you ever get my Christmas card?

Aclai- Welcome back! Good luck with the teaching stuff. I myself teach in South Korea because finding a job in Arizona was next to impossible and I wanted to travel the world. If you end up going to Nashville you will love it! I lived there for a year, and if I were to ever come back to the states, that is where I would want to live again.

Tina- Welcome back! So good to see so many familiar faces.

A little about me:
My name is Shannon, but everyone here calls me Shan. I'm 25 years old and I live and teach English in Geoje Island, South Korea. I've been in Korea for about 10 months now. This is my second BL challenge in a row. Last challenge I lost 44lbs, and I hope to reach or surpass that goal for this challenge. I have a wonderful supporting boyfriend and I look forward to a long future here in South Korea.

*I do calorie counting.
*I workout for one hour five times a week.
*I'm down to a size 24 jeans, and hope to be in a 18/20 by the end of the spring challenge.
*I tend to visit the site a lot throughout each day, so I am always around. :)

Aclai4067 12-30-2009 09:06 PM

Shan, I didn't know you were from Arizona. Nashville is kind of my baby step detatching myself from Georgia. My sister lives there so I'm already pretty familiar with it. If I go, I'm planning to stay there for about 2 or 3 years before I move to Phoenix. I was born here in the east but I'm a desert girl at heart; I love Arizona! But I'm quite intimidated by trying to find a job there. Here you apply by county to become a teacher, so one application can serve for about a hundred schools (more or less depending on county size). I realize applying by county makes no sense in Az since the counties are so big, but searching by school district when I don't know the area is really overwhelming!

The Korea thing has occured to me (it's listed through various organizations through most job searching sites). A guy I worked with at my University is about to go. Honestly I'm pretty lost right now, I don't know what to do! But I know I need change, hence, Nashville.

Hi Red Team,
This is my 1st BL challenge. I'm a very quite person but I promise to keep active here. I'm 52, a nurse, work full time and have 3 DS ages 23, 22 and 15. I have been widowed since 1999. Most of my weight came on after I lost my husband, all of the sudden I had the sole responsibility of raising 3 young boys as a single mom, but now that the boys are almost all grown I'm ready to take care of myself.
Good luck Team,
K

Hi everyone

I'm Lisa and I'm a 31 year old from Scotland. I previously took part in one of these challenges as a member of the Red Team and did very well in terms of weight loss, not least due to the fabulous support from fellow team members and the feelings of accountability to them.

My weight loss journey commenced in 2005 and I successfully lost over 80 pounds through calorie counting and exercise. Since then I have allowed a variety of life events (relationship breakdown, injury etc) to get in the way of my efforts and now find myself in a position where I have regained almost 30 of those pounds. My confidence has taken a massive knock as a result. I want to put the brakes on that weight gain NOW and attain a healthy weight. I have PCOS which makes it that bit more difficult.

I'm a bit of an exercise fiend when I get going so hoping to get back to a regular routine which will keep me on track.

I look forwarding to renewing some old acquaintances and getting to know new people.

x

Thanks! Yes, I got the card, right on Christmas Eve! It was so cool to get a Korean card. I'm actually in the greeting card business (American Greetings) so I sort of take an interest in cards! I'm so sorry yours will be so late.....I don't usually send cards, so I kept forgetting about it. :o
