Hi all- my name is Mel & I'm pretty sure this is my 3rd challenge. (Red team all the way!)
I work part-time and have 3 kids ages 9,7 & 5. I've been overweight most of my life.
I started my weight loss journey in earnest in Jan. '09 using calorie counting & running. I used the couch to 5K running plan which is a great way to get started. The running has slowed down to almost nil but I'm hoping to get started again so I can do another 5k on Mother's Day.
My goal for this challenge is to be more active on the boards (& bust through my current plateau)- last challenge I was on the sidelines, but now that I've survived another holiday in 'retail' I hope to be more chatty! I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Hey ladies! Holy cow! Our teams are HUGE this challenge...like 50-some people each!! That's fantastic that so many are attempting changes for their health. I'm a bit above the start weight I gave at the sign-up thread, so first order of business is to get back to that weight and then get on with the challenge! BTW, this is my 2nd TBL challenge.
More about me:
My name is Jessica (Jess, Jessie, etc.) and I'm 33, married with 3 kids (10, 6, and 4), and I'm a stay-at-home mom. (I was a homeschooler up until this school year. Long story, but thankfully the kids are handling the transition very well, PTL.) Anyway, I'm nearing the end of my weight loss journey, but still need to tone up and get rid of some body fat and a little more weight to get into the runner's/athlete's body I desire for myself.
I look forward to enjoying this challenge with you fellow RED teammates!

Hello everyone! I recently joined 3FC and am excited about this challenge! I look forward to meeting and talking with everyone. My name is Yasmin and I'm 29 years old. I'm married with 2 children (6 year old girl and 2 year old boy), work FT mostly sitting down (which is a bummer)and will hopefully finish grad school in 2010. I have alot on my plate but I've decided I don't want to start my thirties overweight and unhappy. The last 10 years have been a struggle with my weight gain. I plan on starting South Beach next week to jump start my progress. I plan to work out at home with various DVDs (TJ, 30DS, Slim in 6, etc.).
HI Red team,
It's nice to be back, even tho I really blew the last challenge bad. I'm trying to remember how many challenges I've been in, I think about 4. I'm Bette and I'm married with 2 children, a DS who is 20 and in the Army, and a DD who is 8. I live in rural Iowa and love it except in winter. I would love to get under 200 lbs this time, but I've said that before so I'll take what comes as long as I lose weight.
I've been having trouble getting the site to load and posting so I won't be on as much as I would like but will try to get on as much as I can.
Have a great first week
Bette K

My name is Theresa and I live in NC, originally from Ohio. I work from home and have 2 children, girl about to turn 8 and a boy who just turned 6. Last year I started losing weight and was almost under 200 when my husband started struggling with his business and I started working from home. That change threw my life into chaos for awhile but I am finally getting an idea of how to balance weight loss, working full time, caring for my family, etc. all at once. Unfortunately, I have bounced back up beyond my former highest weight in the process.
I know how to lose the weight and what works for me, it's now about balancing it all out and not letting my work overtake everything else. I used to not work, now I am a workaholic, go figure!
I count calories when I need to get strict, but for the most part have some strategies that worked last time...such as eating dinner at lunchtime and a small meal at dinnertime, guzzling tons of water, working out first thing in the morning, and setting exercise goals in addition to weight goals. It's more a lifestyle I had developed rather than a diet. I am just trying to start those lifestyle changes again while working...which is difficult for me!
I look forward to getting to know everyone and dropping tons of weight.
Hey guys!!!!!!! I'm SO excited about this challenge! This is my first time and I know it will be a great way to keep me accountable! I start this Monday on Wendy Chant's Crack the Fat Loss plan....and I have a great feeling about it! I'm so happy to be part of this! GO RED!!!
My name is Lindsey.
I am 22 years old, and engaged to a lovely young gentleman who is wonderful at helping me to see this through.
I weigh 284, and am trying to reach 150, but ultimately am just trying to find the weight that makes me happiest, and healthiest.
This is my first challenge, and I'm worried I'll get confused, so I'm thankful for everyone here who will help me out!
Go Team Red!
Hi all! My name's Kay. I'm a 20 year old college student, studying psychology and human rights. This is my first Biggest Loser challenge (I'm kind of new to 3FC), and I'm really excited!!! I think it's something that'll help hold me accountable, which is great. Up until now I haven't had the strongest support system in my life, so this is amazing. I can't wait to get to know you all
Hey there! My name is Cheri, and I just turned 32 yesterday! I'm married with no kids, just two cats and a greyhound.
This'll be the 3rd time I've lost the same weight, and I'm determined to have this be the last time. My husband and I are doing WW and have had a lot of success, but this holiday season set me back 5 lbs so I'm hoping this challenge will jump start me!
This is my first challange and I'm really excited to get to know all of you!!
My name is Shari and I'm 23 years old. This is my third BL challenge and I love them, even though I totally stunk in the last two. Hoping to do much better for this one! Hope everyone has a great New Years! Be safe and have fun!
Hi everyone! My name is Heather and I'm 28 years old. I have two great kiddos, a 3 yr old son and a 10 mo old daughter. This is my first biggest loser challenge and I'm excited to be a part of it as I need the accountability.
I started this journey in September shortly after my daughter's surgery. I knew losing the weight would be very hard, but it could never be as hard as watching your child be in so much pain and not being able to do anything about it. So if I could survive that, then I can do this!
I'm looking forward to this challenge and getting to know all of you girls!!
My name is Nia I'm 21 years old. I'm originally from Philadelphia,PA but I'm currently living in Doha, Qatar with my family.
I've been attempting to reach a healthy weight since I was about 15. From 2005-2006 i had lost about 40 pounds and had gotten down to 195lbs. But then in early 2007 i went through a depression for about 6 months. Then right after that I started a new job which was stressful. So with those 2 things combined I gained weight. I am not only about 5 pounds away from my highest weight. For some reason I just haven't been able to get back on the wagon. Hopefully this year I will be able to get it together.
Diet plan: When i lost weight before I was doing the south beach diet but now I'm just aiming to eat more healthy and balanced. Ive just come to the realization I'm one of those types of people that just can't stick with a certain type of eating plan. I need variety in my diet.
Exercise: My goal is to do 30 minutes of aerobics 5 days a week. then after losing some weight I plan to start doing toning exercises.
Hello Team!
My name is Theresia, 24 years old. I'm currently at 150 pounds, my goalweight is 128 pounds. I would love to see that number one day.
I'll try to workout 6 days/week. At least take a walk. I've got Insanity, it's a little bit hard, but I'll give it a shot on monday. I can't do every move in it, but trying is better than not doing it at all.
My diet plan is to eat healthy, skip snacks, candies and soda (and similar things that I know is bad for my weight). I don't count calories, is so hard when I don't cook my food by myself, but I know that the people that cook, do it as healthy as possible.
