I have been emailing that personal trainer I was talking about. I don't have her number but when I emailed her I gave her all of my #'s. But she has only emailed me back. Is it because I am old or what I just want to talk on the phone instead of one ? at a time. It is frustrating. Anyways, she wrote that for 3 of us it would be $75 for the 1 session. I have never had a PT before. Does anyone know if that is a good price? I believe it is for an hour but the price is way off what the people at work that use her told me they pay. Should I mention it to her? Or just go to one and have a normal conversation to find out what it will cost us so much more?

Maryshady: Is the price way off - as in - more expensive?

Usually group training is a bit cheaper than 1-on-1 sessions. I would definitely question that she may be trying to overcharge you (since she well, can).

If the people you know RAVE about her, I would still do it, since a good personal trainer is hard to come by. If you end up not liking her, you can always find another one and can compare the prices.

Dixied- Thanks, good to know there is someone else in the same boat. I have already noticed changes, last month AF showed up on its own, which some people hate, but since it doesn't normally happen that way it means I am definitely going in the right direction.

Hi! I'm sorry, been so busy, but wanted to come say hi to all my fellow bluezer bombshells!!!

I'm op again. Yay me! Feel good about the rate I'm losing at and all that, but just frustrated that it does have to take so long to lose! I know I know, it took lots longer to gain all this. But still, just get whiny when I'm hungry and need to wait til tmrw to add more cals. I know better than to be hungry b4 bed. My fault. Better go eat a couple bites of something. Then will be fine til morning.

I'm noticing my hands and arms, etc. are looking older since I've lost this last 13 lbs or so. That's scary considering I need to lose another 80 or so???

Yes I know you can hide loose skin under clothes but what about the fact that now that I'm down the 50 from my highest my arms look ok in sleeveless stuff, did you all see Helen's arms? I don't want to have all that. I know I shouldn't care but I have spoken with my dh and he agrees if it's that bad we will just get surgery for me for it. Dread all that but may have to do it. Meg's post on all that is very interesting. Find it on here if you all have questions on skin issues, which I have many!

Ok, I'm out. Thanks for listening to me ramble. Thankful to be down what I'm down but can't wait for more!!! Feel a bit bloated now but had extra salt today and not enough water so not surprised.

Nite!! Selina

First of all I understand the emailing/not calling part. With this technology, ALOT of people are like that. Sometimes it is easier to email...I do this with my ex-husband all the time...and then he emails back saying ....call me to discuss. I hate that especially when I just have one quick question. And if I do call, I usually get VM. Anyway...having said that, I think the trainer should call you...if she wants your business, she should!!

Now as far as price, when I started my journey I got a PT (who teaches the Boot camp I now go to) and her prices were as follows:

  • one on one private: $60
  • group of 4: $45 for 3 sessions

I did the group of 4 but lucked out, 2 of the 3 sessions, I was the only one there. I am in PA, so prices are going to vary from me to NJ where you are, but if you feel that she is too expensive, shop around. I'm sure you can find someone else if you don't like her and/or her prices.

The girls at work told me they pay $150 for 6 weeks, 3 x per week. Maybe that is more like a bootcamp workout where there are more people but I would be fine with that. I was thinking of going for the one and then asking all of my ?'s.

Jacque-Thanks for the input. I thought $75 was higher than it should be. But they all do rave about her and from their description she works you out like Jillian for BL would.

My gym was $35 a session for one on one. Or $180 for 6 sessions.

Another busy week @_@
I was doing very poorly diet wise, but I was good on the workouts.
Especially yesterday. I went to this thing in downtown Chicago called Soycon. A bunch of anime geeks like myself dressed up in costumes and wandered around the city. I'll post pictures and videos when they get uploaded and stuff. It was a sight to be seen. [There were over 250 of us]
I'm so sore. But it was amazing.

Silly -

You forgot the most important part. How were you dressed?

As a Chicago girl I'm glad you had fun here. I was downtown as well yesterday but I was biking on the lakefront. Even though I live here I don't get down there that often.

I was supposed to be http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/s.../240x400am.jpg
So here are some of the pictures I took [The costume I was wearing is from an anime about personified countries, which is why I had the American flag, and I was made fun of for having a salad at Subway instead of a hamburger at McDonald's.]
http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/s...con2009011.jpg I'm the one with the American flag. And YES. That is a jacket. And YES it was in the 80's yesterday. Us kids doing stupid things! 2 people got heat stroke, but they've both recovered.
http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/s...con2009077.jpg People taking our picture at the Bean in Millenium Park. A bunch of not-freak people were taking our pictures, too.
I also found this album of Soycon on the forums for the bigger anime convention in this area if you wanna look through those. http://www.flickr.com/photos/3460600...7619942760089/
I heard there were 250 of us, but now I'm hearing it was closer to 320.

But, yeah. Walking around the whole city was a great workout! I'm sore and sunburned, but it was so worth it.

I'm saying hi! I'm POP today. Tons of stuff to keep up with here lately, baseball camp for my son starts tmrw, then first of July we have a British coach for my daughter's soccer camp coming to stay with us for the week. Then our own exchange student who was here for the year in 2006 is coming to visit and staying two wks at the end of July. Then in Sept. one of our Brazilian daughters who was here in 2000 is coming for two weeks to spend her vacation with us -- we are soooo excited!!! And our new one comes Aug. 14th for the year here.

So just so much to keep done here before all this happens and I'm supposed to count calories, sneak in exercise, take care of my 3 little ones and run our business??? Send me wonderful willpower dust. I want to overeat so badly lately, at night when I'm tired. I have been doing better at just not doing it, just feeling the feeling of cravings and letting them pass. This is huge for me bc when I went those 184 days without going over my cals I lost 35 lbs which was good but I was white-knuckling the nitetimes when I was awake and esp. when dh or anyone ate around at nite and I couldn't eat any more that day, cals were all used. It's hard!!!! But I'm overcoming it. I WILL overcome and it will become the new normal for me, where anyone else eating won't have any effect on me. I am making THAT my goal and I bet you everything else will just fall in place.

Big hugs all you Bombshells!!! You all are doing fantastic!!!

Selina
