QOTD:
What bothers you the most about your weight (aside from the fact that it's there!)? For instance, is it being uncomfortable, comments from people, trouble buying clothes, etc.?

What I hate most is the lack of success in this area. I am very successful in other parts of my life. I am a great mom (if I do say so myself), a have been married going on 22 years, I am successful professionally but I can't seem to get this one part of my life under control. I have been on every diet imaginable with some success but I always seem to trip myself up after a while and gain right back to where I was before I started.

It is mainly my health issues, I have PCOS and was told it would be very difficult to have a child when I get to that point in my life. Having kids is something that I really want. So I need to get my weight under control so it can be a possibility again. Besides that I am just sick of being like this, things like worrying if I will be able to sit in chairs, if a seat belt will fit, etc.

It's so uncomfortable to be that big, the stares, the snid comments, no clothes that really fit, too many reasons, but I think the biggest reason is I was so unhappy being fat, and just doing normal activites were such an effort. I still have a ways to go, but I never want to be that sad ever again!!

For me It's not one thing but LOTS of things. But to simplify a combo of not feeling normal because of things like how my clothing looks/fits and the way it bashes my self esteem.

This week is going okay for me. Rest day today. Bike Ride tomorrow. My weight is already down this week so I'm a happy camper.

QOTD: I hate buying clothes at this weight, both because the size irritates me and because the styles all give me a huge muffin top!!

I also hate that it controls me, more than I control it.

Last week when I hit the 280s I bought myself a few things, including a couple workout videos, and I received one yesterday, down 2 lbs this morning! Yay. Only 2.5 lbs until I get to open a mystery envelope!!

It's been so hard for my to exercise lately. I'm working heavy 12 hour shifts 4-6 times a week these past 2 weeks and it'll prob continue like this til end of August.... then school starts of course.

I tell myself I'll go for a run or to the gym after my shift ends, but by the time that happens, I'm drained from such a busy day at work. I no there's no excuses so I gotta start pushing my butt into workout mode. If it helps, today and yesterday was so busy at work that I was running around constantly, did not sit down at all, sweating at times (I work as a nurse if you can tell, haha).

I don't have a problem fitting workouts in my day before going to an evening shift, but its the day shifts that are killing me! Next day won't be until next week but I think I'll need someone to kick my butt then to get me motivated to do some exercise after a day shift!

SweetScrumptious- Have you tried getting up a little earlier and doing your workout before your day shift? I have found that if I try to wait until after, I just won't do it because I am tired or whatever. So for me, I know when school starts back I will have to get up early to get a workout in, otherwise, it won't happen.

Definitely the fact that I don't feel comfortable in my clothes, especially tops. I am very self conscious about my arms and even short sleeve tshirts make me uncomfortable if the sleeve is not a certain length. Because of that, I dread the summer months. It means I will just stare at my clothes and feel like I have nothing to wear that I'd be comfortable in.

Yesterday was an extra hungry day for me for some reason...I didn't do too bad but I was craving sweets which I normally don't. Exercise has been good although I may have injured my shoulder by getting a little ambitious with the resistance training. But this time it will not be an excuse so stop moving!

I'm mostly uncomfortable in shorts and won't wear them in public. Only to swim, over my suit. Just want this weight off me now! But sadly enough, it will take a year to get it off then a lifetime to maintain it. Such joy! LOL. Really tho, that is something we have to accept if we REALLY want this off us and are willing to put in the effort to succeed. And we CAN do it.

Well, I'm POP today too everyone! Down one lb for the week so far. I have to be perfect to lose 2 lbs a wk. I know my body. Just sucks. I'm sure most of us are feeling it now. Changing habits is a hard task. It takes a lot of committment (sp?) because it feels abnormal since our normal was to eat not so healthy foods and maybe too much of those foods. So we need to create a new normal. Where we eat slower and feel full before we stuff in several hundred more cals per meal, that's one of the biggest things I've learned. I know this is true because I've tested it. The more time I give myself to ingest the food, the fuller I feel with less food.

I think nowadays we are all way too stressed and rush to eat and grab fast food to rush more and all that. It is just an endless cycle. So we have to choose as individuals not to care about what they are selling down on main street and make a plan for ourselves ahead of time and change what WE do. Doesn't have to change anyone else, but all that matters is OUR choices.

It DOES start feeling normal to eat right. I remember it becoming that way for me, til I started eating badly again when I got my last newborn and was so sleepy all day I didn't care what I ate. But when I am able, I begin again and incorporate all my changes and it helps me feel normal when I'm eating right again. So Yay!!!

Good luck Bluezers!!!
Chin up!!!

Hugs, Selina

Hey everyone!

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should keep the weight training part of my exercise routine. I've had some knee issues due to all the lunges in the Chalene Extreme program. I could modify the exercises somehow but the lunging and working the lower body while holding weights for the upper body is sort of the design of the program. Any suggestions of how I can modify it so I can keep doing it?

Otherwise I'm going to ditch the weights for now because I can't risk an injury that would leave me unable to workout at all. Better to do cardio only than push it and be unable to work out at all. Thanks for your suggestions!

I'm in such a good mood today. I had a new low on the scale this morning and was able to post a 2+ pound loss.

Then when I went for my run I was able to go for 10:30 before walking for a new best of .92 miles nonstop. It was also my longest wog of the year at 3.68 miles. I also lowered my 5k time to under 40 mins.

Food was excellent calorie wise although I wish I would have gotten a little more fiber. I do have room for a small snack later so I can always have a Fiber One bar or something. Tomorrow is grocery day and I hope to limit my spending to fresh produce.

Hi ladies!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I have been so busy lately! Between school, work, wedding planning, and packing for our move, I haven't been able to think straight, let alone exercise. I'm holding on to eating decently, so that's a small victory!

We move in 8 days, and I'm not even going to think about exercise until then. I've just got to get organised, stay calm and keep eating well for the next week!

Yes, those lunges are tough, maybe if you go to lower weights, or no weights for a short while, maybe you can build up some upper strength, have you tried, to not go so deep into a lunge, I know when I do TJ, she has you jumping around alot, not sure if it's the same in her Extreme, but I had to not go so deep in those lunges, they really hurt my knees, also. Cardio is always a great choice. Good Luck and hope you take it easy on your knees!
