We are so lucky hubby is alive..last sat he had a spell and we called 911. They missed the fact that he has blood clots in his lungs. But did suggest he get a stress test done.Got us in with the right dr who found the bloodclots. VERY SCARY at age 47.
hugs to all

My thoughts and prayers are with you...47 is young and that has got to be very scary. That is just one year older than my own husband..

dgramie-sending healing thoughts your way, hope DH is doing better, very scary.

dixied-"duct taping the girls" you make me laugh. Yes, I do know about those bad weeks, just got through two of them myself. I think one of my problems is, I get so depressed the week before TOM, and right now DH and I are having some minor hickups, and I slip back into old habits. To all that are struggling, just hang in there. I will say "just lurking around here" when I don't feel like chick chat-helps me so much, this has helped me pick myself up and give me that big kick in the butt, that I really need, when I just feel like-"why bother!" Thank you All!

Need to get moving, have a great day everyone

Just thought I would challenge myself to change or stop a few things that are holding me back from reaching my goal.

-no more eating when I get home-it's right to bed.
-bring my lunch to work all week-
-no vending machine buys

Hi teammies!
I just went over the WI thread, and even though we didn't win this week, I did notice that most of us had losses, so WTG! let's kick some butt for week 4 And of course congratulations to our biggest losers for the week!!!

Thanks scarahjs and Nixmom! I won't say house hunting sucks yet, but man, I do want to find something soon and get it over with LOL. I definitely don't want to have another bout of emotional wanting to eat over this.

dgramie: Sorry to hear about your DH, I can just imagine how scary that must be. Sending good vibes your way chickie!

dixied: Hang in there! Whatever is ailing you shall pass and you'll be back you your own self in no time. You gave me a good chuckle with the duct taping idea though

Institches: We're here for you girl! Don't go MIA on us!

I think I will take the day off exercise today. Haven't had a day off since last Wednesday and yesterday was really hard for me to get moving, so I told myself that if I did my workout yesterday I could rest today. I think sometimes we just need to take a day to recharge the batteries and that's what I'm going to do today.

I know...we need to get our butts in gear here Blue Team...looks like the Red Team is serious!

I was POP yesterday and it showed just overnight, which was a nice feeling. I've been looking forward to going up to MI for the long weekend of Father's Day...but now I'm getting nervous because going out of town for just over the weekend did me no good last weekend. I am really bad about being out and about and sticking with the "program"....but I am going to try really hard. Hopefully all the extra walking I'll be doing will balance it out.

GO BLUE! We can do it!

And dgramie my thoughts and prayers are also with you.

Hello girlies!!!

I'm POP lately and feeling thinner. Weird, but good. Plus just came off of TOM and always feel better after that. Kinda makes me look forward to menopause. If it's stopping child bearing, etc. then why isn't it called Menostop?? LOL!

Anyhoo, we do needa step up our game Bombshells! We can do this, just a little extra moving in the day, like pacing or marching in place while we are on the phone, and not delegating some tasks like getting the mail or walking the dog, taking out trash etc, jog in place while waiting for the microwave to go 2 minutes. That's how I usually have to exercise, which is hard to log, right? So doubt I log much more.. Just move more when you can, it helps!

Also, to up my water I'm going to put 5 rubber bands on my water bottle. I'll move one down each time I finish one. Then I'll be sure to get at least those 5 in every day, which I haven't been doing. Maybe if we do that and move a little more we can each up our loss by .5 lbs a week and beat them this week! Moving and water!!! Don't forget!!!

Big hugs to each of you, just the fact that we are all still here trying means alot.

Selina

Ideal - You are starting to make me think I should get my arse on the old bike. The swimming is out as Northern Lake Huron is way to cold to swim in until at least the first of July. Hmmmm. Maybe I will bike today.
Zinke - I'm a bit biased, but training for my Tris is a pretty awesome way to keep yourself progressing and on track, because once you've paid $$$ for the race, you're scared into behaving! Hehe. Plus you've got cross training going on so you end over overall pretty fit. It's a good excuse to be faithful to your food program too, because obviously running and biking get easier and faster the lighter you get. I got down to 186 last summer by training a weight I hadn't seen since High School. If you're interested at all a good read is the book "The Slow Fat Triathlete". That is the book that made 300lb me think. Maybe, just maybe I could do one someday, and now I'm considering training for the Half Ironman Next summer. Crazy stuff I tell you! Who would have known!

Hi Bluesers!!

Not having a great week this week. Very tired and had a stomach virus thing going on but that didn't stop me from eating! Scale is up almost 2 lbs since Monday. ugh!! I had set a goal for myself to be in the 160's by the end of the school year. Well that is on Friday so I fell dreadfully short. I am thinking of hiring a personal trainer. Some ladies at work have one who charges $150 for 6 weeks 3x per week. She does a group at a time but that is better for me. My daughter in law wants to join with me.

On a better note today is my gd 2nd b-day. She is so cute! And work is over on Friday for 9 or 10 glorious weeks.
So I can devote 2 hours a day to working out and hopefully getting this eating under control again.

dgramie-You and your family are still in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all is going ok.

Have a OP Wednesday!

Let me get this 8 miler under my belt first and then we will see. If I can do this I think my next step will be a half mary. I might try and find that book though.

That sounds like a pretty good price to me. Less than $10 a session.

I am so excited this morning. I was only .2lb from being in the 220's. I haven't seen the 220's in nearly 15 years.

Okay, I don't know if I'm breaking protocol here but I have a QOTD, if I may...

QOTD:
What bothers you the most about your weight (aside from the fact that it's there!)? For instance, is it being uncomfortable, comments from people, trouble buying clothes, etc.?

I think for me, it would be my own self-consciousness. I've always had a certain level of it, no matter what my weight was, but the heavier I am, the more conscious of it I am. And it's not even that I really have gotten comments from people (although, when I first started losing 2 years ago, everybody was noticing and complimenting me) so I've been pretty much spared that. I need to get outside my own head more, lol. But I'm really like split-headed with it. Part of me is quite self-conscious, another part of me doesn't give a hoot what people think of me in general. I want to spend more time in the "doesn't give a hoot" zone and less thinking about how big my butt is. I mean, yeah, I wanna think about it when I'm trying to work it off but not when I'm walking down the street on a summer day.

We have no protocol for QOTD's. If someone has one throw it out there.

QOTD:

I think one thing that bothers me about my weight is how my kids will be treated. They start kindy this fall and I know kids can be unknowingly cruel. I don't want to put them through that or myself. Prior to having kids I never gave a damn about what people thought of me. I don't want them hurt though.

I don't like being uncomfortable obviously. The rashes, not finding clothes that fit, etc.

Right now my biggest issue is my health though. If I was eating the right foods in the right portions, exercising the way I should be, and had no other health problems that were being affected by my weight and I was still heavier it might not bother me as much. At least then I could say I was just big boned.
