Mary - I'm sending some sun your way.
Practice - Moving is a workout in itself.

Everyone sing with me. I'm so excited and I think I like it. or something like that. I saw 229.2 this morning. I don't remember seeing a number that low since the summer after I graduated from high school. It's been 16 years!

Zinke-Thanks for the sun! on the 229! You are an inspiration! You are doing such a great job! I can't wait to see 169, I haven't weighed that since before I was preggo with my dd who is now 17.

Hi everyone!
I've been out of town for a few days and won't be home until next Tuesday night, but I thought I would check in.
I haven't had time to read any of the thread for a few days, but hopefully, the place we'll be going tonight will have computer access...I did bring the laptop, but my mother's house has no wireless access....just this old computer.
I'm off to MI in a couple of hours (in Toledo, OH right now) hopefully they'll have a scale for the weigh-in on Monday...or I'll have to try to seek one out somewhere.

I hope everyone has a great Father's Day Weekend!

Suzie

That's a great accomplishment me4life! It's so good to see those health and strength gains.

My big achievement of the week is the results of my Cholesterol tests. 2 years ago my number was 199 (high is 200+) and my triglicerides were 250! 9 months ago I started improving my eating. 6 months ago I added in regular exercise. I've lost 32-35 lbs. (depending on the day! LOL!).

My new numbers are an overall score of 164 (under 200 is 'normal') and my trigliceride level was cut in half! From 250 (high) down to 124 (they want you under 150). All my numbers are now in the normal, healthy range! My 'good' cholesterol number could be better but it's just a little off where they want it.

The scale is such a fruatrating part of this journey but to have solid, clear results that show how much my health is improving is really motivating!

Hi everyone.

Sorry to have disappeared. I'm still weighing in.. though not really contributing much to our efforts! BUT today I kicked out 50 minutes of exercise.

Dixied YES, I've been totally "off" for over a week now. Can't seem to eat right or exercise. I actually woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep because I kept feeling I was so OFF on my weight loss plans and it was really bothering me.

My 10 year reunion is in August and I have to miss it. I'm really disappointed, I've wanted to go for... 10 years! I remember I weighed 132 when I graduated hs, which is right on the overweight/normal weight border for me height--I had just lost 20+ lbs my senior year. I always thought I'd love to be below that for my 10 year but that doesn't look like it's happening either.

BUT... I am going home from Asia August 29th and seeing friends and family I haven't seen in more than a year. I really wanted to reach goal while I was gone but that won't happen. In fact, whenever I set a number goal, I miss it.. by a lot. So instead I am just focusing on losing the next lb. I even change my ticker to reflect that.

I hope everyone else is well. Maybe I'll reach my "goal" (1 more lb down) by weigh-in.

Morning all

QOT(other)D:
What bothers you the most about your weight (aside from the fact that it's there!)? For instance, is it being uncomfortable, comments from people, trouble buying clothes, etc.?

There's a few things for me, mostly the same stuff as others already said. I also hate that there are no photos of me, because I won't let people take them. Seeing a photo would mean having to confront how overweight I have let myself get.

me4life - well done on the mile I'm always amazed at how quickly the running seems to get easier. Anyone else find this?

dgramie - you and your family are in my thoughts. Hang in there, let us know you're ok if you can.

I'm off on a camping holiday this coming week. No internet for me! Not sure how I'll cope without electricity for 10 days Crazy that. Be back on the Monday in time for next weigh in, who knows where the scale will be though as my schedule will be all over the place. Hope everyone has a good week, let's see if we can finally beat those red teamers!

btw- my daughter came home after a few months of not seeing her and says i'm skin and bones...i'm not but at 190lbs its nice to hear her say it

It is mainly my health issues, I have PCOS and was told it would be very difficult to have a child when I get to that point in my life. Having kids is something that I really want. So I need to get my weight under control so it can be a possibility again. Besides that I am just sick of being like this, things like worrying if I will be able to sit in chairs, if a seat belt will fit, etc.
I have PCOS too. It really makes loosing weight much more difficult, but it is possible, obviously. I think the key is to not get discouraged. Luckily once you lose part of the weight, your symptoms will improve. I think I lost about 15% before mine improved drastically.

I've only seen sub-10 minute mile once, but it was GOOD!

Those are great numbers!

I swear I'd "multi-quoted" more than that? Weird.

I'm still feeling "off", but I'm thinking about doing something radical to change things up. I'm thinking about switching my eating plan for the next month or so. Normally I eat very South Beachish. I don't exactly follow the plan, but I use common sense and portion control. I think I'm getting bored with my food. Even new recipes aren't helping at this point. I'm not going to do anything wacky like the Cabbage Soup Diet, but I'm going to look around and see what else is out there. Right now I'm leaning toward low-carb, simply because those of us with PCOS do well with it.

If I had to weigh in right now, I'd be posting a huge gain. I'm in the middle of TOM and a heat wave (ove 100 degrees for the 6th day). I feel like spongebob's twin sister with the water I'm retaining.
