I guess a little about me. My name is Amanda. I am a 28 yr old stay at home homeschooling mom. I have 2 kiddos. My ds just turned 9 and my dd will be 4 in a week. My dh and I started working on losing weight at the beginning of Sept. Since then I have lost 63.5 lbs. I want to lose around 100 lbs more. I have never been in a challenge like this before and am super excited about it. I want to lose at least 20 lbs during the challenge. I guess thats it for now. I am looking forward to getting to know you all better and helping the Black team win this challenge!!!
I'm really looking forward to the next 12 weeks with you guys. My goal is to lose 20lbs during this challenge, and to become much more active. I'd like to jumpstart my activity level, and I think our challenges will really help.
I'm doing LAWL, which helped me to lose 30lbs last year. I gained back about 20 of those, and I'd like to ditch them for good during this challenge.
Hey everybody, I'm Rosario. And I've come to the realization that its just too darn hot in Georgia to be this fat. So I'm hoping this challenge gives me the boost I need to be on my way. No goals really, I just want to lose as much as I can. My plan is eat less, move more.
Look forward to chatting with all of ya. take care!
Hi Black Teammates!
I'm Jo and I'm glad to see the teams having their own threads. Maybe we can arrange for a chat room sometime?
I'm hoping this challenge will motivate me to lose a buttload of weight, literally. I have never even seen the TBL show (no TV!) but I don't think that's necessary, is it? I might have to find a way to watch it though since that is what this challenge is based upon. I also signed up for a TBL challenge at my gym for more motivation. That one does not begin until 1/29 but there is overlap here that should help to crowd out any excuses. The gym challenge does not have teams, but is just a competition between individuals. I like the idea of doing both kinds of competition. I am usually not a very competitive person but in this case I'm excited because if we all lose then we can all win. And I don't want to let down my Black Team! So here's to all of us! Let's get MOVING!
I came into work a little early so I could check out the teams. I'm glad to reconize a few names on here and to be on the BLACK TEAM again. Ok, a little about me..
My name is Jessica. I'm 22 and live in good ole' West Virginia. My highest weight was 229, I'm starting this challenge at 212 and I'm hoping to loss at least 15 pounds. I joined this challenge because I'm trying to surround myself with motivation to loss weight and someone to hold me accountable. I work as a paralegal in an office, so I'm constantly online. I recently broke up with my fiance of 5 years, so I've been enjoying having time to myself and being able to go out with my friends. I'm currently planning a trip to Cancun Mexico for 2009 and for Europe in 2010, so I need to look good in a bathingsuit before then. :-)
I have had several large wake-up calls the past couple months that I need to get this weight off.. number 1 - My brother (who is skinny and very fit and 25) recently got diagnosed with diabetes, it's scary to see it hit so close to home and having to live with it every day and see the stuggle he is going through. number 2 - I started having severe back pain a couple months ago, it only lasted about a week but I have never been in so much pain in my life. I could have just pulled a muscle, but I'm afraid its because of my weight and I don't want to have to experience that pain again.
I'm glad to see so many black team member posted pics and/or measurements already.. I'm probably going to take new pics tonight and get them posted tomorrow.
Hey, Black Team - we are back! Just popping in to say hello! I'm geared up and ready for the challenge -- I'm 3 weeks past my (hopefully) last procedure and my (ahem) parts and ready to go! Woo Hoo!
Hello everyone! My name is Nancy and I have been working on losing weight for about 2 years now. So far I have lost 107 pounds. *ahem* Well - I had gotten to 246 and the scale rebounded a few (make that 4) but I am pretty sure it is mostly water retention. Either way I will fix my ticker next weigh in.
I am really lucky to have found a form of exercise that I love - dance. I take dance classes 5 days per week and yoga at least once. I need to reincorporate weight lifting, which I back slid on a bit towards the end of the year. This is tough because I am not a morning person and can’t get myself to the gym early so I need to do the lifting and the dance in the same visit. If I dance first I am worn out for the lifting and vice versa. Jillian says to do the weights first so that is what I am aiming for. The other problem is that classes start at a set time and I am still figuring out my schedule to make sure I get to the gym in plenty of time. I’ll figure it out eventually.
I am currently getting over a cold, so I don't know if I will be able to work out tonight, although I am prepared. I will just have to wait and see how I feel later on.
NotThe Cheat - WOW 107 pounds WTG GIRL!!! I also love dance.. I used to take it when I was younger and I was always commented on how good I was cause I've always been very flexible and have good rhythem. I do DDR a lot now.. I LOVE IT!
Diva - Yea, I've been handling it well for the most part, it's a big change but everything happens for a reason. Congrats on the weight loss already
Spiney - I've watched the show before but I haven't yet this season.. I've been too busy. So I don't know if I'm going to really get into it this time around.
ahill - WTG on the loss already and glad to see you have a very supportive DH.
Hey everyone! Well let's see. My name is Christine, I live in upstate NY, and I just graduated in December from a community college with an associates degree in Math & Science. I am starting at a 4-year university in a couple of weeks as an Applied Mathematics major with ambitions to be a high school math teacher some day. I'm 21 years old.
My main goal for this challenge is to get to ONEderland. I'm also excited to see what I can achieve in terms of inches lost.

This is my first challenge and I am super excited! I can't wait to get into a healthy BMI range. I have 2 little guys, 3 years and 9 months old. When I got pg with #2, I still hadn't lost the baby weight from the first one, so I was careful and gained about 1/2 of what I did the first time. It took 2 months for me to lose that baby weight, and then I started chipping away to get back where I was when I got pg 4 years ago. I am within a couple of pounds of that goal, and super excited to try and knock off another 15!
I don't really count calories, I am just extremely conscious of everything I eat. I am also running (sometimes a little walking) 4 miles almost every night. For this challenge I am hoping to lose about a pound a week (and I have already lost since sending in our starting weights-woo hoo!). I can't wait to get to know everyone!
My name is Melissa and I am 26 years old. I live in Ontario Canada,
I am married and have 3 little ones, 4, 3 and 9 months,
my goal is to lose 20lbs which will bring me to the weight I was when I got pregnant with my 1st.
I hope that with all this support that we can give each other, we will all be able to reach our goals!!!!
yesterday I worked out on the treadmill for 45 min at level 2
and today I worked out for 30 minutes on the treadmill at level 3
My name is Julie and I am the fearless Black Team Leader (though Jillian I am not! ) I am SOOOOO glad that Chellez decided to do individual team chats! We'll get to know each other a whole lot better this way.
I just started classes online today so I need to hop over there and see what my assignments are, but I'll be back later to say hello to each and every one of you!
My goal for TBL Challenge this time around is to be at 169 by the end of it all (crossing my fingers!)
PS, Diva... YOU ROCK for doing those banners and avatars for us!!!!
