I'm in, Andrea!
Thanks for starting this thread, hon.

I'm heading into my third week of my doctor/dietitian/trainer-supervised program, and while I'm doing well (down 6.5 pounds), it's still a struggle.

Hi Everyone!! This seems as the start of a great group!!! THANKS!!

Well.. I've been on my journey since 01/07/06. I have been seeing a Wright Loss Specialist (MD) with my partner. My starting weight was 247 and hers was 250. We go every week on Fridays or Saturdays to get everything checked out and weight in. She (MD) also recommends some excersices and things to help us through our journey. So far Julie (Partner) has lost 20lbs!! I've lost 19lbs but I had a few rough weeks. It's been really hard for me to start moving and do some exercises... We went to the mall yesterday and walked around for about 4 hrs!! My legs are killing me!!

Welcome Jen and Nildee! (did I get that right, Nildee?)

Jen, I hope you have a good weigh-in tomorrow!

Nildee, what a great job you and your partner are doing... keep it it, girls!!

I have... let's see... three things that I'm going to keep track of here.
My water, my calories, and my steps/exercise for the day.
And I think I'll break down and put a weight tracker in my signature again.

great thread! i had a rough two weeks a while back (basically a 2 week long binge ) BUT now i am charting my intake with fitday and it helps me so much. when i get "snacky" my code word for wanting to stuff my face with anything and everything because somethings is bothering me, im bored, or im happy i now make better choices and it controls the amount of cals i take in on a binge.

its nice because when i binge i then restrict during the day (when im not binging., does that make sense) and that just leads to more binging ... and you all know how that goes.

this way i plan my meals and dont let myself get too hungry and i dont restrict (ie eat NOTHING).
i think its a lot healthier mindset.

anyways- this will be a great thread. woohoo!

Hi, Freddy... welcome!
I agree with you about the binging... it seems that once I start, I can't stop.

Okay, girls... I'm ready to have a good day!
We had my mom over for dinner last night, and I did NOT eat well. Nor did I count my calories. I did get on the exercise bike for 35 minutes, though.

Anyhow, I'm about to take a one hour walk, have just had a healthy breakfast (natural peanut butter on whole wheat and an apple), and am going to journal my calories!!

Let's all have a great day!!

Hey everybody. Glad to see everyone's working so hard!!

I've been trying to stay on my diet, select low-cal options at restaraunts, and keep up my workouts. It's been rough, though. I'm still battling depression so I have times like last night where I get so tired from my internal emotional struggle that I haven't got the strength to stay on track. I got so hungry I just started eating everything.

I have to keep fighting, though. I've still lost 13 lbs so far which isn't bad at all for only one month.

Hi everyone! I think this group is just what I need =D you see, I didn't really realise that I had a bingeing problem until mum pointed out to me (gently) that I'd gained "a bit" (really, A LOT! Over 50 pounds, I think. I'm from New Zealand so we don't use pounds here) of weight, but she couldn't figure out how, because as far as she knew I was eating normally. I was having secret binges in my room. I was in denial for a couple of months, and then one day it kinda hit me- that I'd gained all this weight! So I'm starting to correct my behaviour. It's SO hard though!

I've started going to the gym, that's my challenge- to actually use my gym membership =P so hi all, I look foward to getting to know you all!

Hi everyone,

I would love to join the group also! My name is Stacey and I am from Ontario Canada. I started my "lifestyle change" as I like to call it just a fancy word for diet *LOL* on Jan 9th and for some reason this time around the weight is coming off really slowly, I know that is good but I guess I am impatient
I have been doing really well until well my breakdown last Monday night where I just had to eat whatever was in my line of vision! I am back on track this week, but would love some outside support! And I hope I can help support people also!
Thank you,
Stacey

Good luck with the WW meeting Andrea. I bet it's a bit daunting, going to a meeting when you haven't been there for a couple of months. I know I'd be a little scared of going back to the gym if I hadn't been there for 2 months! I'm sure it'll be great though

I had a pretty good day today. I even got to the gym! I had really bad back pains at lunchtime, so I went home. I could hardly move it was so bad! So mum drove me to the gym. I always find excercise helps pain like that.

... :::GIRL ISSUE ALERT::: I think a side effect of me losing some weight was that my period didn't even come last cycle, it was supposed to be on the 10th or so of February. I'm not extremely worried yet, maybe if it doesn't come again this month. Hopefully the back pain was indicative of something menstrual happening.

Although, I have managed to avoid the smarties on my desk so far.. Normally they'd be GONE! if it was near that time of month.

That was a wall of text if ever I've seen one! =O And hi stacey!
