Hi girls,
Just letting you know I changed my starting weight. I am going to get weighed weekly at Pharmasave on a set of doctors scales, considering mine are 4 1/2 poounds heavier. Not a good way to start off, but makes you feel a little better when you realize you are not quite as fat as you think.

P.S. Any body have a cigarette? Just kidding! I can do this too.

Default Worse days

I haven't posted in a couple days. My cat passed away suddenly, and I haven't been handling it very well. So I have had a couple of very bad days. two days spent where I didn't eat a thing, and then 2 hours where i binged.

I have to say I am feeling really low and just thinking of giving up (weight loss) Does anyone have any words of wisdom. I could use them.

I am so happy to see everyone doing so well with their goals.

Take care

HI all,
I had a good day, although feeling a little rundown...I guess I'm still adjusting to less calories, but by noontime, felt pretty perky.
Although I was putting off exercising all day, my sister called and DRAGGED me out for a very fast 45 min walk. I owe her one! I felt very good after that.
As to lossing the taste for something...I have cut out all sugars, except splenda. Sugar-y foods are my craving and addiction. After about 2 days with out sugar in my diet, I have no more craving for them. As long as I don't eat any sugar, I don't crave it.

T-- I am so sorry about your cat. I know that anything I say won't be enough, but I really am sorry. I lost my cat i'd had since adolescence 4 years ago, and even though I have pets again, it's still hard sometimes to think about it--because pets really are family. the humane society has a site i found a little helpful http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/co...h_of_your_pet/

I'm just really really sorry.

T- I too am very sorry for the loss of your cat. They certainly do become members of our families, and when we loss them there is a great void in our lives. The site that Paisley sent to you is great. I hope you have the chance to look it over. Take care of yourself and eat properly. Do it in memory of your lost cat. What was his/her name?

Hi all -

Tljl, so sorry for your kitty loss. My oldest cat is starting to visibly run down, and it twists my heart every time I notice.

So, I've had a pretty good weekend, it snowed here Thursday and Saturday. The DH and I tried out my new sleds on our hill, but the snowmobiles hadn't been along enough to really pack down the run so it was slow. If you got the dog to pull, you, though - then you could fly!

My good friend threw a poker game on Friday night, and I was good the whole time. Yay! Drank 1 Diept Pepsi, lots of water, and nibbled on nuts and cheese, rather than chowing down on the chips and cheese doodles which are usually my nemesis. I did break down and have a glass of sugary minted lemonade, though - it sounded too good not to try. Come summer, I think I'll try to make some with Splenda.

I'm down to 224 today, woo hoo! And, I actually hauled my rear out of bed this morning with time enough to exercise before coming to work. That puts me ahead of the game by a significant amount. Woooooo!

Hi

I just thought I would let you know about the things I have been doing that have been helpful.

I have been drinking tea mostly herabal and green (my preference) I put it in a big thermos in the morining and keep it at my desk all day. It stays hot for at least 5 hours. This really helps me get in my fluids. I am also really into the medicinal and nutritional properties of herbs so this helps me get some vitamins and minerals as well. Also I am not a big fan of cold drinks in the winter, so if I din't do this I wouldn't drink anything.

I have also been tracking what I eat at a website called fitday.com. I find it much easier to track what I eat because it has graphs and charts. I'm a really visual person.

Hello all,

T- I am into the herbal teas as well. I have a book called Prescription for Nutritional Healing. Its a great book. It tells you what ingredients do what. Which ones to avoid...(ie:...if you have anxiety don't take this one., if you have heart probs dont take this one...and so on.)
I also use fit day. I use it to find out the cals, but then i use my own paper journal to write it down. I like having the visual reminder right in front of me without having to be on the computer.
Sweet pea- im going to try that crest whitstrips idea. That is my problem too, trying not to snack a couple hours after dinner.

T- I just checked out the fitday site. Thanks for the info on it. I am glad you are starting to feel better, don;t let anyone belittle you for your feelings though. They are your feelings and no one elses.

tljl- sorry to hear about your cat I have had to let two of my cats go in the last 3 years so I know that you are feeling really bad right now. Don't give up on your weight loss - I see that by your tracker that you have already lost 27lb with another 50 to go. That means you are 1/3 of the way there - you can do it

I had my first weigh in since re-joining WW. I have lost 3lbs!

Default Hi Gang.

Hope everyone had a good day. I did well. My goal was to get up and get on the treadmill right away. I did and I got in 3 miles under 55 minutes. So I am very happy about that as I have been struggling with exercise motivation. I did feel really great the rest of the morning and had lots of energy. I have to remember this the next time the little voice in my head tries to wrangle me out of it!

How about if everyone reports back tomorrow ONE thing that they did to keep on their plan when they were tempted to fall off.

Sweetpea

P.S. T... You're welcome. Very glad you are feeling better.

Well, although I lacked motivation to do ANYTHING today (I mean anything), I had an awsome week last week and lost 3 pounds! I think my real challenge will occur when I return to school and trying to find ways of continuing to eat healthy and exercise enough. Tomorrow I plan to go buy new running shoes since all I have are cross trainers which do not work for me for running because they hurt my knees.
I have been doing well on the South Beach Diet. Now I LOVE sugar so it's been hard, however, sugar free jello has been saving my life and helping those cravings.

Everyone keep up the good work!

I have such good intentions when I am laying in bed at night and then just before I get out of bed in the morning, but by the time I reach the kitchen I have blown it. Cookies are my nemesis. I just at two bear paws and 4 yes I said four pure butter shortbreads, good breakfast hunh. Oh yes and a cup of coffee to dunk them in of course. On the upside I am not smoking and have been walking every day. approx. 3 miles yesterday. Now that I have that out of my system maybe I will have a better, healthier day.
