Lightbulb Your favorite OP snacks

Since we are starting our new challenge on Monday I thought we might share some of our favorite "On Plan" snack ideas to help each other along.

Some of mine are:

Some of mine are:

baby carrots with hummous
whole wheat crackers with low fat cream cheese or low-fat peanut butter
green grapes
sliced strawberries
summer berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries) with some low fat vanilla yogurt on top
cucumber slices with low fat dip
snackwells vanilla cookies (2)
ginger snaps (2)
low-fat pringles
24 cashews or 15 almonds (unsalted)
baked tostitos or baked chips as a treat
quaker rice cakes
low fat cheese with sliced pears or apples

Anyone else have any ideas?

Snacks?

Snacky food?

1 oz. of a really good cheese.
half pint of fresh berries with one 6oz. container of vanilla yogurt dumped on them.
One whole dill pickle, for the crunch.

hmmmmmmmmm? what else? I'm cutting trans fats out of my diet completely, so that takes care of relying on crackers and such for snacky foods.

tomato sandwiches on whole wheat or sourdough bread, using just barely half a teaspoon of mayo on one slice of bread and a good bit of dijon mustard on the other. With iced tea.

Oh, but that's getting into meals, isn't it? better stop.

Howdy folks,

Well, recently I discovered the joys of 100% natural fruit popsicles, but they are kind of expensive and sometimes have a lot of sugar. I've scoured the net and found a few recipes for homemade ones to try with real fruit and juice. Now, I just have to find "popsicle trays" somewhere (obsessive compulsive Chris needs it "just perfect")!

---Peanut Butter Banana Shake: 1/4 of a banana, 1 packet of low-sugar cocoa mix, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 cup 2% milk, 1 Tbls peanut butter, 3 Tbls vanilla protein powder and some ice cubes in a blender.

---Turkey and Crackers: turkey, a tiny amount of low-fat cream cheese, and slices of turkey and avocado on whole-grain rye crackers.

Yum!

Wow, those sound yummy! Triscuits are so good, even without anything. I love ham, especially turkey ham. We also like to make pita pizzas with these chicken sundried tomato and basil sausages we get from Costco. SO good, and healthy!

Fresh Pineapple, Cantelope, Strawberries, Oranges, Apples, Bananas, Blueberries, hmm...fresh fruit in general. I hate chopping the ones you have to chop up though (arthritis) so the hub does the chopping. I am also a big fan of almonds. I buy them blanched and un-salted. Others to add are...Light Chocolate Soy Milk, Wheat Thins, sugar free drumsticks, "quakes" rice cakes, low fat yogurts with granola mixed in, turkey sandwich on whole wheat...hmmm I'm hungry I better go eat now.
