Hi Girlie Friends,
Got letter from insurance about pre-op testing...that makes this whole deal seem really real!

Three people told me today that I looked like I had lost some weight...joy!

Scheduled to see my yoga teacher more often before surgery and going to gym again...yahoo!

Haven't gotten weighed this week. Will tomorrow and will post it.

Have to take computer in to be repaired...may be in less often until it gets back, will use sister's computer or login at work when I can...

Thanks for your kind words about my family...I love those girls...and we are a happy bunch...most of the time! Just that a house with six ovaries and not much testosterone gets alitte edgy sometimes!

Love to you all and I'll be back tomorrow morning with my weigh-in...better late than never...

Soozie

mauvaisroux 09-11-2003 06:37 AM

Welcome back Virginia! :)

Rowan- Congrats on the 7 lb loss! :bravo:

Soozie- isn't it nice when people notice that you are losing?
Way to go! :cp:

ellis 09-11-2003 07:50 AM

Rowan, congratulations, hon!! :hat:

Soozie... let's see that weight!

Hey, Virginia!

I am NOT doing well. I'm cheating a little every day. I'm drinking water right now, and I am going to TRY to have an op day.

soozie 09-11-2003 08:05 AM

178 today....down a pound from last weigh-in...still up 1.5 pounds from two weigh-ins ago...but, moving in the right direction!

Ellis...drink that water and hope you do have the op day you're planning on...
me too!
and all of us!!!
love, Soozie

dentrassi 09-11-2003 03:38 PM

Soozie-Well, I'm in a house with a LOT of testosterone and 2 ovaries (WELL, 4 if you count the cat!!!) And things are STILL edgy!!!!

soozie 09-11-2003 04:54 PM

thanks for reminding me Den...the grass isn't always greener on the other side. One thing that rocks...as my daughter would say...about having a female only house is the bathroom floor stays alot cleaner, if ya know what I mean.

(and alot less stinky therefore)

I ate candy and cheetos today...not a ton but enough...other than that I ate nice healthy meals...so, not all is lost.

I forgot to tell you that today is my anniversary...DP and I have been together for 16 years... whoa... She sent me beautiful flowers today.

Tomorrow night my sister is babysitting, our DD is sleeping at my sister's house, so, I think that we'll bring in a romantic dinner and .... hey, the rest is none of your business...but, if its good I'll tell you on Saturday...heh,heh...
love Soozie

squeaker 09-11-2003 05:26 PM

Happy Anniversary Soozie & DP!!!!!!!!!!!! :balloons:

soozie 09-11-2003 05:34 PM

thanks squeak..
hey don't think that I ever told you this but, with your name and eeyore there in your avatar...i was just remembering...
when I was a little girl my father used to go on occasional business trips.
after one trip he bought each of us a stuffed animal.
mine was a red donkey...kind of eeyore-ish...it had a squeaker in its rear so
when you squeezed it ,it squeaked...
I named it Squeaky...very creative child...what a mind...

anyway, I had Squeaky until about three years ago when I was cleaning and decided to let him go so he could become real like the velveteen rabbit...felt that I had been holding him back for too long. He was beginning to crumble from age even tho I had, years and years ago, made him new ears out of felt, restuffed him, and made him a new collar. so, anyway, squeak...because of that....I feel that we're related somehow...

later, Soozie

squeaker 09-11-2003 06:17 PM

That is an adorable story Soozie. :) I like being related.

Wanttolosealot 09-12-2003 10:01 AM

Fill me in if I am wrong, but I am supposed to be losing and not gaining right? I am back up to 230 lbs uggh! Well, it is time to get moving instead of just talking about it, and stoop eating the junk. I am blaming it on the one full week of not smoking. Feel very different this time about it. So I will make it, just have to get a grip on my weight again.
Virginia

Wanttolosealot 09-12-2003 10:03 AM

Happy ANniversary Soozie, DP and DD!!

sflake 09-12-2003 10:08 AM

Virginia :bravo: on not smoking that's a very hard thing to do, especially while trying to control your weight. You should be very proud of yourself. That is something on my todo list or not todo list as the case may be. :D

Aquareggie 09-12-2003 01:11 PM

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

We are heading out of town to visit my son and his fiance. They just bought a house so we are anxious to see it and them.
Only drawback is the house is directly across the street from my ex-husband and his wife (olive oil)
This will be a challenge.
Not sure if we will stay the night or drive home late this evening.

This weekend is my last hurrah before beginning my weight loss journey. I'm beginning to feel like Bill Murray in Groudhog day ... keep ending up at the same spot doing this over and over.

Well, I guess it's time to finish my coffee and think about getting ready to go.

see you all later,

Robin

sflake 09-13-2003 08:11 AM

Robin ~My brother lives around the corner from his ex-wife. She left him because she thought he couldn't have children. Today I am going to my nephews 6th birthday party.....I guess she was wrong  boy I love that kid :)

Have fun at your sons

Wildfire 09-13-2003 07:06 PM

Happy Anniversary Soozie and DP!!! Sorry I'm late!:hat:

Rowan Bailey 09-14-2003 04:13 AM

Happy Anniversary!!!!

mauvaisroux 09-14-2003 04:24 AM

Hey Rowan!

I guess I am not the only night owl around here...or are we actually early birds?

I am so proud of myself....I went to an Italian restaurant and instead of ordering a huge meal of pasta or meat + pasta I ordered an anti-pasto plate that had salad, thinly sliced mortadella, prosciutto ham, and sopresseto ham, grated mozzarella cheese, artichoke hearts and a slice of melon -delicious :T

I also skipped the bread basket and I had italian dressing on the side and only used 1/2 of it! Yay! :cb: I am trying to do WW low carb but it was really difficult not to cave in and have pasta or gourmet pizza.

LadyOnFire 09-14-2003 07:49 AM

mauve- congrats on leaving the pasta and bread basket alone...the smell alone is hard to resist and you DID IT!!!! <clap-clap-clap>

and as far as the early birsd...only if I am getting out of work or going TO bed

mauvaisroux 09-14-2003 01:56 PM

Thanks LadyOnFire! My friends all had lasagna, canneloni or pasta with cream sauce which they scarfed down and it took me 45 minutes to eat my dinner - surprisingly I felt really full.

I have a tough time on weekends because we ususally eat out with friends and it is tough to my wise food choices in a restaurant.

soozie 09-14-2003 04:17 PM

Hey Girls,
Computer leaving for repair...I'm shutting down right now...well, as soon as I log out of here. I'll check in from work or from my sister's house...see ya when I'm back online.
Love, Soozie

Aquareggie 09-14-2003 08:36 PM

Welcome Robin!

Mauvaisroux -- Good for you. :D Can you imagine going an entire lifetime without eating out with your friends? Better to learn how to manage it than try to live without it forever! I did the same thing tonight. I ate half of the restaurant portions, instead of the whole thing. :)

Way to go Aquareggie! :bravo:

twodogmom 09-15-2003 07:34 AM

Just a quick post this morning before I leave for work......

Want to report my weight loss. I didn't weigh last week due to TOM, but stepped on the scale this morning, and I'm happy to report that I'm down 3.5 pounds in the last two weeks, from 187 to 183.5! :cb: I had been kind of stuck for a couple of weeks, and decided that I needed to really pay attention to portion sizes as I was really stuffing my face, and I guess it paid off!! Not to mention the motivation of the Halloween Challenge!! So I've now lost 17 pounds in 8 weeks.

Also took my measurements this morning (a hateful task, those numbers scare me!) I've lost 2 inches in my bust, 3 in my waist, and 2 in my hips since starting SBD in July!!

Have a great Monday chicks!! I'm off to work.

ellis 09-15-2003 07:37 AM

Congratulations, Twodog!! That's wonderful!!

I've gained 3 pounds. Can I blame that on you, Twodog?
