Ran 50 minutes Saturday, 35 on Sunday, 54 today. (All of which burned off about one French chocolate mint out of the box, ha ha!)

Well what do you know, didn't know I had it in me I walked again today... would have to say it felt great except for the pain in my ankle and hip from the impact of jogging yesterday. Well DD and I did another 35 minutes today and I am excited... maybe I will shoot for 2 more times this week.

Well, I am going back to walking instead of running - not only because of the warmer weather coming, but my right knee has been bothering me on and off since I started running again - added to an old ankle sprain (right side also), I think I had better switch to lower impact fast walking (I can walk a 12-13 minute mile when I get going, and I love to walk). I feel the knee a LOT going up and down stairs, and do not want to cause any more damage!
So I am going to buy a decent pedometer this weekend and start aiming for 10,000 steps (abt 5 miles) most days. I'll let you know!

Lidian, I'm so sorry you have to stop running. I always envied you when I read your posts... I used to LOVE running, but weight and deteriorating joints have taken their toll...
The pedometer is a GREAT idea!

I loved my old pedometer, Ellis, but then it broke and I never could find the right sort of replacement battery and so on...I am sorry to give up running, I do like it a lot...DH said maybe I could do it gently once in a while, and maybe I can. I WAS planning to stop when it got all hot and humid though.
I also had a hip joint issue on the SAME right side after both pregnancies - the doctor said it probably loosened after delivery & THAT finally cleared up though every once in a great while I feel it. Thing is, being fortysomething & not twentysomething, and all these little right-leg issues...well! Course when I WAS twentysomething I didn't WANT to run. When I was at U of T I ran around King's College Circle once with DH (then DB!) and it was about 35 degrees out (and 11 pm!) and I hated it! HE used to run occasionally, little 7 mile jogs with his pals, and thought I would like to try (ha ha).

I have been working in my yard. 2 hours Monday, 3 on Tuesday, 2 Wednesday, 4.5 Thursday and 1 today. I mean WORKED! I dug up half the front yard with a shovel by myself!!!! I then seeded and raked. I have dug up saplings that I didn't want. I put in bushes and shrubs. I planted flowers and weeded and pruned. I have mowed and weed wacked! Tomorrow I work on my veggie garden! This is harder than walking or the gym but a whole lot more fun!

Yup...
Flower, I feel your pain. I have been averaging three to four hours a day out in my gardens... hard work but I'm sooooo addicted.
