I bought a pedometer about a year ago but the damned thing is black with black printing and I can't figure out how to set it.
Anyhow, yesterday I spent 4 whole hours digging and another 3 hours today so that's my exercise. Have you any idea how hard and heavy Leeds County clay can be? Oy!

I'm at just over 1000 steps from getting the kids off to school. Planning on a walk with a friend today... I'm still in the experimental stages with this pedometer, but I love it!!

I am running up and down the stairs today (with pedometer on) as eldest DD is in bed with a cold & a Nancy Drew mystery, & I am bringing her cold drinks etc.
Nancy & her friends always have the time & money to go off to England or NYC or Carmel, where they are in the Nancy that I am reading. I was in Carmel once on a trip - but unlike Nancy Drew I was 6 weeks pregnant with eldest DD, with a cold (& couldn't take any medicine) & lay around in the motel a lot. And did not solve any mysteries either.

Heh heh.
I've just ordered in a bunch of Enyd Blyton's at the library. I can't wait to read them again. "The Sea of Adventure". "The Circus of Adventure". "The Famous Five"...
Cozy.
Okay, I'm up to 5888 steps. It's ummm, 2 pm.

Rachie, I've just become a pedometer addict, so my advice to you is... GET A PEDOMETER!!
You'll at least know how energetic you've been during the day.
I love keeping count of my steps!!
Okay, it's 9 pm and I'm at 7922 steps. MUCH better than yesterday!

I agree - my time is limited and in bits and pieces, and walking with a pedometer is very flexible - you can walk in place at home, and sometimes I just walk around the kitchen table (I believe that the Bronte sisters used to do this every evening, but they did not have pedometers to encourage them).
Ellis, my DD now wants a pedometer for her 10th birthday (she is impressed by the numbers and the cuteness of a little yellow compact-like clip-on thingie I think) - we'll see, it's not for 6 more months (hope mine's still working then!)

Walked for an hour and 15 minutes in the muggy muggy air, felt like I was breathing in the mudd. I am not sure how far I walked but I find if I walk in a straight line as far as I can go away from my house when I get tired I still have to turn around and walk back home. (that or call a cab)
It is bad when you live somewhere that if you are walking the red-necks decide they need to stop and pick you up.... doesn't matter you have on exercise clothes and you are sweating bullets, they need to turn around on the road and ask you if you need a ride.... I swear to you, this happens at least one time every time I walk... do these people not know what exercise is? The guy today got pissed off and called me a few choice names... glad I walk with my cell phone.
I had a pedometer, it had a little radio on it DD decided that she needed it... now I don't know where it is.

Walking around with the pedometer, going up and down the stairs, and down to the basement, and back and forth from school, and to the store, etc etc. Must lie down on couch!
