April Your steps are absolutely amazing. I struggle so hard to walk just 3/4 of a mile. Must keep remembering that some is far better than none.
Yes I'm a WVU fan, and agree that the teams that lost I most enjoy. Today our paper published a new bracket with last weekend filled it. I'll keep it at throw the coffee stained one away.
The knee shots are the lubricant you mentioned, I think. Right now bit sore from walk (only 3/4 mile on level road), but I know tomorrow's shot (#2) will make a difference. Had to sit at the longer Passion Sunday Mass, but I chose to be on front row so I could still see while others were standing. At 5'2" there are few I can see over when standing . . .

Corrina WELCOME BACK!!!! i've been watching for you. FINALLY you will experience the summer you missed when you moved to USA and experieced 2 winters. Good to hear you found an home and are settled in. Good places to buy healthy food is a real bonus. We enjoy the trips out that let us stock up on really good organic produce. Cost more, but give more, too.

Sandy, I love the way your typo changed it from a CPAP to a CRAP! LOL LOL Truer words were never spoken!
This was worth a good laugh even tho those of you using that thing probably laugh harder.

Taxes were delivered to accountant last week, and I don't think I was missing anything. This is the first tax season of my entire life that I did NOT get anxious. Amazing. I suspect the extra time in prayer and journaling made a huge difference. As I read what I wrote in a furiously, fast manner, I see things on the paper that I never recognized as truth till I read it. Saw some things I can do and think differently and more and more anxiety is leaving me.
What a difference freedom from feeling anxious over EVERYTHING!!!

Hey April, you are doing great. You excelled in all the other areas. I bet tomorrow you will conquer those 3 extra flight of stairs.

Hi Sandy! Good point about the organic produce. I need to start looking at the local farmer's markets to see what they have in stock. I have noticed some at the local grocery store too.

Well it is suppose to get warmer in the next couple of days. Yippee!
Breakfast: 1 egg on toast with veggie sausage, berry fruit drink
Lunch: spinach, mushroom, onion rollade/casserole and curried peas
Supper: veggie chik pattie on spinach, tomato, avocado salad
Snack: pretzel pieces
Exercise: slow jog 3 miles with dog, and 3/4 mile walk cool down.
Day 2 complete.

...and my taxes still need to be worked...thanks for the reminder.

Greetings Oh fellow aspirants to weight loss and healthy living:

Fitbit sent me my weekly report: 66,885 steps, 29.67 miles, 11 floors, 15,481 calories burned. I have really only been active the past 4 days, except for work, when I have to be active whether I want to or not, so I don't think that's too bad. I'll be interested to see what next weeks numbers are.

Sandy: I hope your injection is as painless as possible and that it is effective. I just came across an article today that made me think of you. It was about exercising with asthma, and it said one of the very best forms of exercise is swimming, because most indoor pools are warm and you are breathing warm, moist air, and the same with outdoor pools in the summer. Swimming is also fantastic non-weight bearing exercise, (easy on those knees), and really provides a full body workout-you even do a lot of range of motion exercises without even thinking about it. I used to love to swim, but haven't done it in close to 20 years.

Corinna: Thanks for the encouragement! We both are starting over it seems. It does seem to get a little easier every day. Kroger has a pretty good variety of organic produce reasonably priced. I don't know if they are called Kroger where you are. The same chain was called "Dillons" when I lived in Kansas, and, "King Soopers" when I lived in Colorado. I too walked with my canine companions today. I went out at 11:15pm for a second short walk because I didn't quite have my 10,000 steps for my non-work day goal.

I made swiss steak for dinner and had a nice salad followed by 1/2 cup of small curd cottage cheese (this particular brand is naturally cultured and only has 3g carbs) with a few berries. I made mashed potatoes, corn and crescent rolls for DH. I told him that was love, making stuff you want but can't eat only to watch someone else eat it. I even used some of my heavy cream in his taters! Now that IS love.

God bless you all and have a great Wednesday!

April

Good Morning Gals!

April, congrats on your steps and sticking to plan!! You are motivating me to walk more and get the scale moving again...

I'm just sort of hanging in there this week. My younger son (not the one getting married) is home for spring break (a week) and I've been cooking all kinds of things for him to eat, as he literally eats every 2 or 3 hours. He's one of those guys who weight lifts almost every day and he struggles to put on weight, although he's really fit (the little rat!) We went out to eat last night, and although my choices were good, I didn't see a loss...actually never see a loss when I go out - probably the sodium in restaurant food.

Sandy, congrats for getting your taxes done, and not stressing over the process - that's one more thing on my to-do list...<sigh>

Corinna, it appears you're back on track!

Terapet, This temporary warm weather makes me want to get outside and Walk! I wish I had a park or trail close by (the bike trail is about 5 min away by car). I really prefer to walk in the woods, but that's even farther.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Andi

Andy Lifting weights does amazing things for a man's body. Your son's eating so often and so much reminds me of my daughter's friend. He is also her trainer. He can't seem to eat enough, has second job in restaurant where he can eat all he wants. That helps. Easter Mass is late, and I'll do as I did Christmas and have good snacks including lots of veggies and grapes and deviled eggs out on table to hold appetites till the Lamb is cooled about 3:00 PM.

Corrina Our Korgers has extremely good selection of organic and other produce. We shop there primarily for that good stuff.

April Agree with you about swimming. I swam daily as a teenager during summer, and during school had membership at Y to swim most days. We live far from any pool and I stopped buying swim suits some years ago when I became embarrassed at my size. Now with letting the hair on my legs grow, I'd really look terrible. My Dad was 3/4 German and gave me enormous amount of hair every where but the top of my head, and it isn't that bad.

Had my knee shot. Dr. is exceedingly good and I'm not squimish about getting a shot, watch and am amazed how accurate he is and how much fluid he can put in. I bet I'm taller!!!

Rest day to let knee heel a bet. Sandy

Andi-you and your son look great in the picture!! Nice family photo.

Sandy-we have Giant, Safeway, Food Lion, and Acme. We tend to shop first at Giant, then Acme. The Safeway is an old small store. Food Lion is a messy store here.

April-dogs are wonderful motivators, whether we want to be motivated or not. I am looking forward to shopping at the Farmers Market in a couple of weeks.

Today's report:
Breakfast: Berry fruit drink.
Lunch: Tofu and fried rice
Dinner: Sweet Potato chips
Exercise: Walked 3 3/4 miles with dog.
Think thin to win.

I have been corresponding with Renee, and I hope to see her back on this thread. Maybe we will see something from her soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

Have a good day!

It's one day closer to Friday!

Numbers good today, and I am tired! LOL! 19,043 steps, 14 floors, 9 miles, 116 active minutes, 3034 calories burned. I walked before work and hit the floor running as soon as I got there. It was a very busy night.

Brunch: 2 egg omelet with onions, red pepper and scant sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese. 2 slices uncured bacon, 1/4 avocado and sliced tomato on the side.

Supper: Big Salad with red lettuce, onions, other 1/4 avocado, crumbled uncured bacon, and red pepper. 1 boiled egg. 1 piece string cheese, Chia seed pudding made with almond milk and a few raspberries and blackberries.

Andi: Great picture of you and your son....you look like you are truly enjoying one another's company! He's a handsome lad! I'm glad you are feeling more motivated to get out and collect those steps.....Now, if the scale doesn't show a loss for me on Friday, my motivation may die a quick death.....

Sandy: You are one brave cookie. I'm a nurse, but I can't stand to be on the receiving end of a needle. I can't watch when they draw my blood or try to get an IV started on me. I can't even imagine watching a needle go under my kneecap! I feel woozy just thinking about it!

Corinna: Hard to believe it's almost farmers market time! I can't wait! I told my DH it's time to get some onion sets out. Maybe some lettuce, mustard and kale......I'm ready! What kind of dog do you have?

God bless you all real good,

April

Good Friday Morning:

17,475 steps, 19 floors, 8.17 miles, 94 active minutes, 2,824 calories burned.

I have to weigh in when I get up. I'm hoping I've lost a few pounds. My clothes do seem to be a little less constrictive.

I had a very stressful night at work. I wish I could be a door greeter at Wal~mart, or maybe one of those people who dress up like cartoon characters and dance around on the sidewalk to try and draw your attention to whatever they are promoting. Some nights are as emotionally exhausting as they are physically exhausting.

Renee: Glad to meet you! Thanks for the cheerful greeting and words of encouragement. Springtime is a great time to get back on track.

Corinna: Beautiful dog breed, and hard to wear out! Happy Easter! I hope you are able to relax and enjoy time with your family.

Andi: Hope all is well with you and that you are having a great time with your son. Have you been using your fakebit?

Carol Sue, Sandy, Dee and Terapet: Hope you are all hale and hardy this Good Friday!

God bless you,

April

So good to see you, Renee! I agree with Corinna that the more people we have here posting, the better it is. More input!

Great numbers on your Fitbit, April, I don't even do that in a week!

Lots to do today and tomorrow, so I might not be checking in, but I will try. I seem to be addicted to message boards.

Smile Good Morning

I thought I did everything right yesterday when I posted but I can't find my post so I will try again.
I had been gone a month, didn't realize it was that long. Had kept up the exercising but the last week we had a family get together and I didn't watch what I ate.
So today I weighed and was pleasantly surprised that I have lost 6 pounds. Must have been because I was very careful for 3 of the 4 weeks
Now at 229.
Off to the gym and will try to get some bicycle time in also. I bought a bike last week. Spring is coming and riding outside seems like more fun than working out in the gym.

Hello Everyone!

I'm at work posting this from my phone. I just wanted to share my weigh in news: 173.2 pounds! Almost 8 pounds....

Andi: Are we still on for our friendly competition to see who can reach 164 first? Or was it 162? I know we can do it!

GeoJackie! Good to see you back and congrats on your unexpected progress.

I can't scroll up on here to read other posts like on the lap top, so if I missed anything, forgive me.

I will have to figure out how to move my ticker thingy for the first time! Whoooohooo!!

God bless you all,

April
