Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I downloaded 8.1 and am busy trying to figure it out. But my part of the meal is done (way early!) and I have it in insulated casserole covers hoping for the best. Burned 5 cookies but otherwise they turned out ok. Forget your diets (well at least a little) and be thankful for the abundance of food with which we have been blessed!!

Hope everyone is happy and enjoying the day. I am in a quandary. I have cooked a turkey for 54 out of last 55 Thanksgiving. BUT this year's bird was the moistest , juiciest and tastiest ever. I don't think I did anything different????

Anyone wanna buy a turkey loving 9 year old German wire haired insane dog who has herded me into the kitchen for hours. Mumbling turkey please now....He's so full he looks preggie. He is playing with 3 toys at once. Saw that with his kennel mates, too. Rolls them up and down his legs and carries 2 while rolling the 3rd one. Told you insane...but we love our crazy dog.

Almost time for my real Thanksgiving dinner. Got my cheap white bread and clock watching.

Good evening GG's,

Had a nice Thanksgiving day. I cooked dessert here, then went over and helped Sara stuff the turkey and get it in the oven. Then came back home to get more stuff, then back over to Sara's place. Sara and Jason made a fire in the fire pit out back ~ we enjoyed a visit by that. Then I went in and played with Maddie. Corbin and Jason watched the football games. Steve came over later and we had the delicious meal.

Sara went out this evening, not to go shopping, but to meet scum boy with a couple dishes of thanksgiving food. I sort of figured something like that would happen. Wish she would let go of him and move on. Oh well, all we can do is pray.

Hope you all had a nice day with family and enjoyed a delicious meal.

Take care

Hey....OMG does the house smell lovely. I have the turkey bones simmering with the left over trinity and poor Dash is again beside himself. Lordy if he hunted quail like he points cooking turkey he'd be a world champion. I'll add the gravy, butter beans, mushrooms, and egg noodles later. Perfect day for a cold turkey sandwich on cheap white bread and cup of soup for dinner.

Our friends did not come as she has the port insertion today. So I froze the sweet potato pie, trying to hide the chocolate chip cookies that keep whispering to me. Wonder if you can freeze sweet potato biscuits? I have enough salad makings for a small army and squash, too. Oh and white potatoes....you know all the extras you get for a company dinner...sighhhhhh

DH just weed whacked down the cannas and is covered in burrs. They cling so tight that washing doesn't get them off. So Dash is house bound for now.

Have a new recipe, but haven't tweaked it yet to be more friendly. I'll do that later on Fitday:

1BOWL APPLE PIE

oven 350

2ggs
1 3/4 sugar
2 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 oil
6 apples
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda

Mix eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and oil in a bowl. Peel and slice apples into the mix and stir occasionally to keep from turning brown.
Mix baking soda and flour and then add tobowl. Stir until well mixed.
Grease 9X13 dish.
Bake at 350 for 55 minutes.

I will report back later this week.....have to think about flour. can use splenda......thinking out loud.

ps....checked Fitday and if I change to 1 cup white flour and .5 cup WW. Egg beaters and sf applesauce instead of oil total calories are 1195 in 9X13 dish. Baking in a day or 2

Hello ladies. Thanksgiving day was very nice. Lots of family and food. I ate turkey and 3 spoons of sides. 1 small sliver of pecan pie and cake. Now I'm done with that. I don't think I did extremely bad compared to other years that I gorged myself until couldn't swallow any more. We got to the camp last night at 6 o'clock. It was so cold I was blowing smoke out of my mouth when we went to bed. Thanks to my sleeping bag I warmed up. Today I've jumped back on my diet. Hopefully I can survive the weekend. This morning I went to the next town and got a few more gifts at a gift shop that was closed last weekend when I passed. In just a little while I'm going on my deer stand to hunt. I'll be back to chat with you ladies Monday. Hi to all.
Hugs

Hello everyone, I gained a pound over Thanksgiving. So far at least. There is still pie and cookies in the house...wouldn't have been except we have the gc and they brought the pie and dh won the cookies at Bi-mart and wanted to keep them for the kids. I plan to send it all home with the them tomorrow but in the meantime it is a temptation. Last year I actually lost weight over Thanksgiving! We did have a nice day with the fam Thurs though and are enjoying the gc now. Our son is coming over to help dh put up the outside lights this morning and we are taking the gc swimming this afternooon. Did any of you brave the crowds yesterday? ..too much traffic and crowds for me. No deals are worth it to me but when I was younger I loved it. Never got up really early to be the first at the door like some do though.

Cajun - Good luck with the hunting! Is it for deer?

Karen3 - And boy those cookies can whisper! Know all about that! How'd the apple pie turn out?

Hello ladies. It's 2 pm and I just got on my stand. Yes Mary I am hunting deer. I'm an hour early because oldest son wanted to go early so I went with him. He dropped me at my stand and went to his. I'll be sitting here until about 6 pm.
I had a lil mess up last night. I ate a small slice of pecan pie. I could have kicked my rear after. But today I'm doing well.
Mary great job on the lb loss during thanksgiving. Great thing to accomplish. Holidays are so hard. Weekends at the camp are too.

Gotta quit typing and start paying attention. Be back later.
Hugs
