I HAVE MY TAXES READY TO GO!! I've been dragging my heels for weeks, but it's all organized, tabulated, and ready for the accountant to plug into his expensive little machine. I usually get them done much earlier than this, but, like everyone else, I was waiting for us to fall off the fiscal cliff.
The snow has pretty much melted. It had lots of water, which we need. So pretty today!
I think I'll reward myself with a movie. I had a slice of pizza and a salad for lunch. Yum.
I got to thinking about all the new people that have joined us and even some of us "oldies" that have been around for awhile and decided that maybe for a little extra motivation I should repost this video of my Ginger doing her workout!! LOL!! Have a good Evening.
Thanks for the smiles...so cute! I had a Pom once and I have never been allergic to a dog but all that hair....I would wake up with swollen eyes and a runny nose every am....gave him to an older couple and they adored him and he is happy too!
Happy sunday everyone. went to church in a snow storm lol and just when i thought spring was coming. it is lighter out later now which means that we have more daylight now than the darkness of midwinter. i voluntered to make greeting cards for their friendship mission at church today. since i have all the stuff, and time its a good thing for me to do. besides i love doing my crafts steve sliped on the ice and sprained his ankel.. sheesh poor guy now hes hobbling along with that. he sees the back doc on the 18th and then we will know what the plan is. hes in good spirits tho. he took sadie(the blacklab) with him when he went to see his mom. whlie inside sadie chewed up the rest of our seatbelts.. bad dog and they are expensive to replace. i think he will put the gate across the back seats so shes confined hoping your weekend was quiet and fun. rosey
Good Morning...we're snowed in and all the schools are closed. Rosey...I drove to church in a snowstorm yesterday too, good thing I only live a couple miles away. I love the beauty of the snow and we really needed it for the soil too. Sorry to hear about Steve, ouch! Shar...phew, you are one energic gal with all the exercise. KarenMo...Ginger is too cute, she can really get that rocker going! Does Sissy ever join in? I don't have time to go back and do personal, much to do today. I don't track my sundays so no menu today. Later Gators.
Good morning goldens
My weekend was not too good with my eating. Oldest son invited dh and I to go eat out with him and his gf. We had a nice time though. Saturday we went look at the house ds is buying and ate out for lunch. Not so good. When we ot home Saturday afternoon I got so depressed I cried. Dh wanted to know what was wrong. I know this might sound stupid but it just hit me looking at the house that my ds is moving out. I'm not ready for that at all. I know I'm not the only mother to go thru this and I'll just have to get over the whining. Just thought I'd share my feelings.
Yesterday wasn't much better. We cleaned the patio and cooked beef brisket on the barbecue pit. It rained all night and again this morning. I'm hating this new time. I was up at 3 am worrying about the clock not going off at 5. It did so I worried for nothing.
Rosey~ hope the slip didn't make his back worse. We have had labs all our life and the chewing is horrible until they get older. One of our chocolate labs actually ate the corner of our barn.
Karen31~ Ginger exercises just like I do. We have the same workout. Makes the body feel good. Lol. Too cute. She's pretty.
Donna~I'm done with taxes. I has to get ours done and both sons.
Shar~I'm sure you are wore out. They have endless energy. If only we could bottle some of that for ourselves.
Marygee~glad to hear your dd is ok in the snow. What a scary situation. We always wish for snow but if we had to deal with those problems we would quit wishing I'm sure. I'm having a rough time with my diet. Like you I think if I start writing it down it may help. I do fine during the week. It's the weekends that mess me up. Qq
Maryea~sorry to hear you are feeling bad. I certainly hurt due to my bad sleeping habits. I'm trying to change the way I sleep and it's helping. It could be your pillow.
Deedee~ about that empty nest thing going on. Maybe one day I'll like it. Maybe the clothes washing and cooking smaller meals will be nice. Less house work. There is one thing I can't wait to do and that is walk thru their house with dirty boots on and say it's just on the sides. Lol.
Karenfl~how is dd doing? I hope her pain is getting better.
I need to get off my tush and get moving.
Hello to all I missed.
Bobbi~ we must have posted at the same time. I can just picture your countryside with snow. Beautiful like a post card. Wish we could send you rain. We've had more than enough for while. We are trying to pour limestone for ds driveway and can't due to rain.
Hi Girls, I hope U each had a beautiful weekend Yesterday we were @ our oldest grandson's spring band/choir concert & is 12 yr & plays the trombone & has a light case of autism/aspbergers syndrome. He did great & we r very proud of him. He should b in the 7th grade, but we r blessed that he's in the 6th grade but he struggles w 2 subjects daily because he has moments of comprehension confusion. His 10 yr sister had her b-day party also, so it was a day being w my family & my ex-dh & his wife that flaunt their $ & pricey b-day gifts. My dh & I r younger than they r, but we feel like we're the older couple because we r richer w our Christian values & we r low income & not ashamed of living on a budget. Anyway the day was fun & the kids played & sang several jazz songs that were uplifting. I ate 1 scoop of ice cream & a small slice of b-day cake. On the 1 hr drive home we stopped @ Subway for me & Kentucky Fried Chicken for my dh, so I feel good about my cals/carbs/fat yesterday. "Rain-rain go away come again another day" for 2 days straight now & heavy fog alllll day today.
Bobbi, please post your recipe for your *Sweet & Sour Apple Cabbage soup, it sounds delish TY.
Rosey, I sew & also do crafts What's the last few crafts up in Alaska that you've made? I've been very busy sewing & just haven't had the time in over a year now to craft. So sorry about your dh & doggie, we have 3 doggies & only 1 likes to chew so we gotta b sure she has doggie biscuits wherever she is & a toy to distract her.
Cajun, maybe U can think about your DS getting married & in a few years having a adorable-darling grandbaby @ your house to Luv They r sooo hard to send home w mommy & daddy. U just want to keep them forever & spoil them.
Mary TY for being a sweetie-pie & telling me about the stretching exercise to help when my sciatic nerve is stinging me, I'm going try doing that to!
MaryGee, I feel so bad that the snow put your DD through that, make would make me want to move to a warm, sunny state My computer line keeps dropping from the rain underground in the telephone lines burried I'm on dial-up w our budget & from my dh's cancer bills we pay on even though he is in remission he has RX & quarterly tests. It would b great to afford hi-speed internet, we have a traditional tv antenna w 28 channels to watch & 4 r PBS & 2 r the weather channel Anyways I know how U feel about your computer probs.
Jess, I got my Federal taxes back in 1 week, direct deposit, but the dum state taxes took a month this year... What movie did U see?
I gotta go figure out supper now, my dh will b home @ 4:30. Bye to everyone & I hope everybody has a wonderful week
Hello GGs! We didn't go to the gym today. Dh couldn't sleep last night and I had things I wanted to do before the gc come over. We are babysitting this afternoon as our dd has an appt. I have been neglecting our family room and it was SO dusty and the carpet so dirty so I hurried up and got that taken care of this morning. I forgot to take my bp med last night (not used to taking it at night) and my bs was up more this morning. I got to thinking that since I'm not so good with remembering my night pills and I get confused even about whether I've taken them or not, I think I'd better take it at dinner. I was trying to divide them about every 12 hrs but better safe than sorry when it comes to a BP pill. I also don't want a case of pills in the bathroom where the little ones can reach it, but if it's not right there.
My arm is hurting less since I'm taking ibuprofen every 3 hours when awake, but the problem is still there. I can't even wash my own back..have to call dh in to wash it! And the neck and head pain is still with me too. Once the doctor mentioned he thought the head pain might be sinus so I think I'll try some sinus med to see whether than helps. Never heard of the back of the neck hurting because of sinuses though. I still enjoyed our church service but my neck hurt so bad I was otherwise miserable...came home, ate a burrito and some radishes (I love radishes!) and went to bed. I think I took three naps yesterday! And I rarely take naps! But I am most comfortable in bed even though the pain is still there.
Cajun - Since early Feb we have been trying out different types of pillows and nothing so far has helped my head or neck. Right now I'm using the My Pillow that is advertised on TV. I like it except for my neck. Same with a great memory foam pillow...first memory foam I've liked...but again except for my neck. It may be too late to return the memory foam but they said they'd look it up and see (BB&B), but I've been too busy to get back there.
I'm going to try calling them with the numbers I find on it and seeing if they can find out without me taking it in. I really don't mind keeping it as this head and neck thing is something that comes and goes. I know it's hard to think of our kids all grown up and leaving home but it actually means you've done a good job when they are ready.
Rosey - Sorry to hear about your dh's slip...sounds painful.
Sharmenu - Not sure I've welcomed you....so please know that you are WELCOME!! I love blizzards and am SO tempted by them....best for me to stay away from DQ and anywhere else that makes a similar product. Most of the time I manage to walk away but every now and then I succumb. And I'm a diabetic!! I try to get my dh to at least share with me but he isn't as interested in them as I am.
Glynne - Well I do bend my knee when I do the stretch. I lay on my back, pull up one knee (foot on floor or bed) and with my opposite hand I pull the affected hip firmly to the other side. Here are some I've seen online and don't think you have bend the knee for them all:

Had a good day, busy... I made a batch of vegetable soup, a batch of pineapple chicken, and a batch of stuffed green pepper casserole. I have lots of meals in the freezer! Did GM's grocery shopping (and mine), so I'm ready to go to bed now. Lots of walking!
Hi everyone a really quiet day here. dh was bored and went to visit a friend and gave me some "me" time. minidoodles the crafts im working on now are jess's crocheted dish clothes, mckenna ryan wall hangings, all mine are alaskan themed, and the cards for the friendship mission. hope your day was bombdiggitty rosey

Donna...I could't have said it better to K3,Allrecipes.com is the place I go most days. I love the 5 star rating system they use.
Mini...I did post that recipe back aways, I'll look for it and post again. It's really good.
Cajun...eating out is always hard. We seldom eat out and when we do I lose all control.
Shar...you're allegic to dogs? sorry to hear that since they are such great companions. I'm allergic to cats, my eyes swell up. I'm told it's their dandruff that sets me off.
Mary...sorry to hear of your neck pain. When I have a sinus headache, my neck muscles get hard as bricks. weird? As to radishes, I love them too. Years ago we went to a fancy coctail party, they had crustless bread toasted and cut into triangles, buttered and topped with very thinly sliced radishes, salt and pepper. I still eat that for a snack, so good.
Looks like I'm out of time, gotta run. Hi to everyone I missed.
Quote:
Breakfast:
Fiber One, Flax & Chia seeds
Applesauce with cinnamon/Splenda
Yogurt, Maple flavored
Lunch:
Sweet & Sour Apple Cabbage soup
Supper:
large Romaine/kale/mustard greens salad with Golden Delicious apple in it and raspberry dressing
Chicken Noodle soup
Red Cabbage Sweet & Sour Soup 2 med onions 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 tsp chicken bouillon 6 cups thinly sliced red cabbage (I used green cabbage) 2 TBS brown sugar 2 TBS balsamic Vinegar 1 large can diced tomatoes with juice 6 cups of water 2 apples peeled and diced. (I used 16 oz applesauce, twice as much as called for but that's how I freeze my apples) Extra calories were worth it. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil. (I used spray) Add chicken bouillon and water. Add cabbage, brown sugar and balsamic vinegar. Cook until cabbage is tender. Add tomatoes and apple, cook until apple is just tender. (I dumped everthing in at once and cooked it)
I ended up with an 8oz bowl with only 47 calories. I ran out of cabbage, didn't have the full 6 cups + more apples so your soup will have different calorie value than mine. __________________ Bobbi
