Hey all....It's still chilly here, but no frost. The citrus trees in the yard have their quilts and it looks fiestive!

Donna....I didn't click on anything and the word I had misspelled with had extra i was ***** ! Weird???? Snow yuck!

Well I took my cappucino with me this morning and sipped it all the way. She never said anything, but fished out a bar to munch on the way home. Gesh I will have to stock the consul with goodies!!!! With a neon sign on the car roof saying Karen's kozy kar.

Please say a prayer tonight for My daughter. Her back surgery is first thing tomorrow morning. She has to be there at 5am. Major surgery. They are doing 2 of 3 procedures and will need another one later on. I am heartsick that I can't go take care of her. I'd be more of a burdon then a help. The nurse in me dies hard and tearful I'll admit only to you all. k3

Karen3 - Our prayers are with you and your daughter - It must be very difficult not to be able to be with her at this time. No matter how old our children are, we want to care for them and make them better -- and do anything we can to help them.

KarenMo...had to share part of your Mayo findings on water. I often wake up with a Charlie horse in my legs when sleeping. In the past, I stay away from water at night because of nightly trips to the bathroom. Guess I'll have to re-think this... Thanks!

Quote:
Correct time to drink water... Very Important. From A Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body: 2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs

1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion

1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure

1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

I can also add to this... My Physician told me that water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.

Bobbi - that water article was so informative... do you mind if I post it in its entirety here?

"Mayo Clinic
How many folks do you know who say they don't want to drink anything before going to bed because they'll have to get up during the night!!

Heart Attack and Water - I never knew all of this ! Interesting.......

Something else I didn't know ... I asked my Doctor why people need to urinate so much at night time. Answer from my Cardiac Doctor -
Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body (legs and etc) seeks level with the kidneys, it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier. This then ties in with the last statement!
I knew you need your minimum water to help flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to me.

Subject: FW: FW: Mayo clinic aspirin Good information.

Subject: Mayo Clinic on Aspirin - PASS IT ON

Mayo Clinic Aspirin Dr. Virend Somers, is a Cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic, who is lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon. Having one during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.

1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night.
The reason: Aspirin has a 24-hour "half-life"; therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the Aspirin would be strongest in your system.

2. FYI, Aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest for years, (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar).

Please read on.
Something that we can do to help ourselves - nice to know.
Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue.
They work much faster than the tablets.

Why keep Aspirin by your bedside? It's about Heart Attacks -

There are other symptoms of a heart attack, besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating; however, these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack.

The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep did not wake up.
However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards: - Call 911. - Phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by.
- Say "heart attack!" - Say that you have taken 2 Aspirins. - Take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and ....DO NOT LIE DOWN!

A Cardiologist has stated that if each person after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life could be saved!

I have already shared this information. What about you?

Do forward this message. It may save lives!

"Life is a one time gift""

KarenFL - good thoughts!

No time for personals right now... gotta get rolling! Hope you all have a good Tuesday!

It's MOST annoying and takes two or three tries to get the post to "take"... do you know what or why or how??

Good Morning!! Karen-- thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter this morning. Update when you can....

Going to a potluck lunch with my sister at her church. A lot of the ladies in our Bible study there also belong to a study group called the "Son-shiners" Isn't that a neat name? Should be fun.

OK better get busy and get breakfast and get ready to go. Have a Great Day!

Good morning goldies,
Grrrrrrrrrrrr Let's try this again. Yesterday I posted and lost it. I didn't have time to repost. Dh and I finished closing the camp Saturday. We brought a load of stuff to the summer camp. Some things we brought home. I'm still trying to fine myself in this mess I have. I hate clutter. We use those vacuum bags to store quilts pillows and sleeping bags but I forgot to get some when I went to walmart.
The diet didn't go too well this weekend. I ate boiled shrimp. It has a lot of sodium in the seasoning. I'm very swollen. I'm sure it will show up on the scale Friday.
We went for ds loan for his house and they couldn't do anything without having a physical and mailing address. So they are coming today to issue him one. Then it's back to the bank. He's in Texas for 2 weeks so we are seeing about this while he's gone.

Karen31~ enjoy your day with your sister.

Karenfl~ I'm praying for your dd. Hoping for a successful surgery.

Rosey~dh did that to me yesterday morning at 3am. He gets up opened door to bathroom slam. Opens door to bathroom slam. Opens door to bedroom slam. Goes get a drink of water. Opens door to bedroom. Slam. By that time i was having wicked thought of what I'd like to do to him. He opened 2 doors 6 times just to use bathroom and get a drink of water in kitchen. Jeez!! Hope you had a good visit with grandson.

Bobbi~ love your lil egg chicks. I have Easter at my house. I think I'll make some of those. I saw it yesterday on pinterest.

Deedee~welcome. These ladies are an awesome group. You are doing an awesome job of maintaining. Congrats.

Donna~ hope you like your new schedule. To answer your question about ds. He is going to move behind our house. He's decided to buy a 16x82 3 br 2 bath mobile home instead of building. We did his dirt pad toward the back of the land so he can live in mobile home while he builds right in front of it. He's only 21 so I think he needs to wait awhile before making that large of a decision.

Shar~ welcome. You are also doing a great job with your diet according to your ticker.

Maryea~ what did your dr say about your shoulder.

Work is calling. Hi to all.

Hugs
Cajun

Donna...thanks for posting the whole thing. I actually printed out the part I posted to put on frig so I remember to drink my water. 2 cups 1st thing in the morning, that will be a challenge. I don't suppose coffee counts.

Rosey...I had a few choice words for Mr. Cranky pants but got side tracked worrying about K3's DD. Can you do the same thing to him some night? Revenge is sweet!
Cajun...same goes for you, sweet revenge!
