Default I'm back

Hi Goldies!

Haven't been around much but still keeping with my new healthy life style'
Thanks Cajun for your message- the 1st I've ever recieved. It meant a lot to be missed. I've had to work hard just to get the comp long enough to post my weekly weigh ins. I lost 7 pds since the Sat. before thanksgiving-but well- I've had the flu since thanksgiving. A little gift from my visiting DD and grandkids. I don't understand how come Dh didn't get it like DS and I did. Really, really, really yuk! Finally feeling better-but very weak. Then I had my 1st cheat since I began 6 moths ago. Friday I cried and ate all day. I kept thinking of my 5 & 6 yr old DGK's. I even had a piece of Lemon Cake! Then I was too scared to weigh in yesterday- I'm saving that in hopes I can make up for my sins. I kept excusing it with the old- I need to build my strength up and just mindless comfort eating- At least it was a big reminder that night and next day with huge stomache ache and sleepless night- I'd forgotten just how much stuffing myself hurts physically.
I was already on a slide- not checking in here- Not taking my supple ments- I just couldn't swallow them with the flu- and worst- I stopped counting calories while I was ill- Eating anything while I was sick was something I had to force- like I said- 7 pd loss, So now time to turn that leaf and get back on tract. I'll just have to be willing to fight for my right to use comp also and be willing to mire through our constant tech problems. I've been gone so long I'll have to just start catch up with reading whatever is on the page I'm on. Thanks again Cajun- I hope you are well. Oh yeah- been through very scary 6 wk waiting on 9mo. old DGS health issue with his soft spot closing early-very long story- with anger at his pediatrion one of those those forgiveness things I need to work on.

Hi gang...welcome Marlene and Ginger
We looked at another house this morning, Bruce said the house looked like it was ridden hard and put away wet. (Horse talk). Still no more bites on our house and it's been 6 months. Good thing we're not in a hurry to move, I'm sure it'll be awhile until the market opens up around here. We set up a grazing table for the month of December and I've helped myself to whatever I wanted. I'm totally bummed, but I don't care.
I caught a show on Dr. Oz when he had on Doc Furhman, his book and eating for life plan. It sounds doable and it's all natural foods, whole grains, lots of fruit and vegetables. Very little meat. I told DH that I wanted to go on that plan after Christmas and he said he'd like to start eating that way too. He doesn't need to lose weight but I'll be up about 10 pounds by the time Christmas is over. I printed out some material about the plan from the internet but decided all the ink I'm using from my printer isn't worth it. I ordered the book from Amazon with free shipping, under $10.00. I'll let you know how it goes when I get the book.
I decided to make some blue jean pot holders for my 2 SIL and 2 Sisters so I better get down to the sewing machine.
Have a nice day everyone.

Hi Ginger - Good to see you here. Hope you're feeling better.

Carbie - I hope you don't get sick from your GS. Isn't it something how they bring all their germs around! LOL

Dee - I'm sorry to hear of all you're going through. I hope your mother gets through this OK, and your husband, too.

Rosey
- I wish we had some snow. It's halfway through Dec and we haven't had more than a dusting. Now that I'm retired and don't have to go out in it, I want snow! I heard that we're going to get more seasonable weather in Jan and Feb. I hope I'm not sorry I wanted snow! LOL

Good to see you back Ginger...Sorry things have been so tough on you but things will get better.. Me? I plan to just enjoy my Christmas and family, you can never get it back. After the New Year is plenty of time to jump on the wagon once again and the next couple weeks just can't make that big a difference.

Welcome Marlene. Glad to have you join us. I haven't been around a whole lot lately... working like crazy trying to get an afghan done, and wrapped before Christmas....at least I don't have to mail it! Have 2 rows left to put on it--- should be done tonight. I'll try to get a picture and get it posted before sealing it up.

Hello everyone... Bobbi, don't give up on your house--- sometimes it just takes the right person and Bang it is done! We had already taken down our for sale sign and was waiting for my brother to pick it up when our buyers showed up... Crazy!

Well, I will try to catch up with everyone but for now I want to get back and get this afghan finished...

Take care and have a good evening.

That is beautiful CK. It is neat the patterns you get with that kind of yarn. What an undertaking ~ it is huge.

Good morning goldies,
It's been crazy around my neck of the woods. We were at the camp and got a call eerily Sunday morning informing us dh aunt had taken a turn for the worse. Hurried up and got to the nursing home and she had already passed between 2 and 4. They didn't want to tell us over phone. We got there and told them we were there and going to see her. They said ok. I walked into the room and she looked funny. I put my hand on her chest. She felt cold. I put my hand on wrist to check for heartbeat. None she was gone. They never told us. You think they could have told us. There were nurses and aids all down the halls. I think that was wrong. Any way we buried her yesterday. While I had the day off I went after the funeral o walmart and got the rest of my food for all the dishes I have to make. Now I'm trying to get ready for Xmas. It's coming fast.

Ginger~ I'm glad your back. Sorry that you are having a bad time. I'm not doing so well either with my eating. I'm on a binge. I so need to get control back.

Hello to all. Have no time left.

Hugs
Cajun

Cajun - that's a terrible story! Did you complain to someone? You're right that that's no way to handle a death notice!

I'm very sorry for your loss!

It's snowing here, very chilly. We need the snow, but it's a yucky grayish color. I don't think it'll last long... I'm glad I have the day off and can just lounge around in my jams.

Here's a nice Christmas link: http://ecard.ashland.edu/index.php?ecardYear=2004adm, compliments of CK.

Stay warm/cool/whatever, lovelies!

My grandson is doing the happy dance on Facebook this morning. We're in the middle of a blizzard, all schools are closed. I can still get a tiny exhilaration in my tummy remembering all those years ago when we had snow days. Yipee, first thing we did was get out our sleds or ice skates, make snow angels and stick our tongues out and eat snow. I think I'm still a kid but my old body tells me differently.
Have a great day everyone!

Quick Good Morning, All...
Not much time this a.m.... have to get my leg exercises done so I can walk today, have b'fast, lather the lard, and get to work.

We got about 2" of snow yesterday, but the storm is heading eastbound, and the WF say it's a doozie! Hunker down, folks! Our mountains got several feet of snow.

Worked way too hard yesterday, but it's a matter of once you start, you kind of have to keep going. Otherwise, I'd be stepping over piles of caca for weeks! I'm going to become RUTHLESS this year and pitch the crap that I don't want, need, use, or can give away. Of course, I paid for it, but thank the Goddess for Advil and Migraine pills! A bunch of them and the warm waterbed did wonders!

Everyone, stay warm and safe. Later, lovelies!
