Good morning goldies,
It's 80 degrees and raining. Is it really December? That's Louisiana for you. Today is weigh in and I have a 1 lb gain. It wouldn't be too bad if it wasnt on top of a 2.5 lb gain from the last couple weeks. But I'm not giving up. Still trying. Tonight I have my pokeno christmas game. Everybody brings a $ 5.00 ornament and they put numbers and we draw an ornament. We've been doing that for the last 30 years. That's how long I've been with these ladies. Yesterday I made 100 meatballs and froze them for Xmas eve finger foods. I will have to make a few more. I don't think it enough. I'm trying to get my list together and start buying my roast, briskets, and ham. I have the turkeys already. My sister and I and our husbands do both Christmas eve and Christmas day. We are usually worn out after that. Then we leave for the camp for my vacation for 2 weeks. It's packing and getting more food for the 2 weeks that we are there. Not to mention that I also cook for new years eve and new years day. Phew. Holiday are really exhausting for me. But it's not so bad once I get to the camp. Dh is awesome help. He cooks all of the meats and I do the side dishes. We also smoke 60 lbs of sausage and tasso new years eve. It seems like all our world revolves around cooking. It makes dieting a hard task. I'm just trying to keep off what I lost until after the holidays and hopefully I can get back to losing the last 37 lbs.

Rosey~I'm sure it is a scary thing to go thru. We have hurricanes and can't imagine what it feels like to have everything move under your feet. Glad you are ok. Hoping no one got hurt.

Karen fl~ thank you for the encouragement. That's what I try to do every week. Because my weekends at the camp are difficult and so tempting. Hope your pain can stay bearable until your procedure.

Karen31~I love your blanket. It's going to be huge. My mom and mil have made several for us.

Lynn~ I know your cookie temptation. I bought some with my niece and I'm trying not to bake me some. I'm going to bake at the camp and hopefully our hunter friends will enjoy them instead. That's the plan anyway so far. Lol

Bobbi~ I can't understand why people have pets and don't feed them. I bet they don't forget to eat everyday. Sorry about your cat.

Hello to everybody.

Where are you Healthy Ginger from Louisiana?

Clothes are ready to be put in the dryer.

Hugs

Hellow ladies,

I've been lurking here and enjoying your posts. All of you ladies seem so interesting, outgoing and supportive that I'm hoping I can join you.

I joined in Nov. so can't post my ticker yet but am down 4 pounds. I'm a slow loser so that's really quite good loss for me.

I'm not on any specific "plan" but am doing low carb as much as possible and starting to use Wonderslim products along with using up some of my leftover Nutrisystem foods.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving without going too far off your plans.

Looking forward to reading more about all of you and maybe being approved to join your posts.

Thanks...

Welcome Time2befit and meandu!
I actually made 4 quilts, three of them blue jean. I put their initials on them so they wouldn't get them mixed up. Two are for our GS's and one for hubbys best friend. I put all small squares and triangles in my grandson's quilts. For the one you see open, I was too rushed to get it done so cheated with some large squares.

Bobbi - I LOVE the jean quilt! And also the afghan, Karen31!

Donna - Sorry to hear about Sabrino! It sounds so gross that he was eating squirrels but I know that is how wild life live.

Rosey - Glad you're OK. I experienced 1 earthquake in my life and that's enough for me!

Welcome to all the newbies!

Karen3 - Ouch to no pain meds! Glad to hear you're handling it well.

Went to the DR about the dizzy spells. He said if I'm still have them in a week he wants me to go for a brain scan. I told him they're going to have to find it, first!

Hola, All...

Bobbi - love the quilts! Did you have a pattern or did you make it up yourself? Each one is so different... very, very nice!

Nothing much to report. I've had two sessions with the D.O. for my hip, and the results are just short of miraculous. Sunday was one of the worst days I've ever had, brought me to tears, the pain was so bad. Monday, he worked on me, and it was much better. It hurts like he** when he's doing it, but wowsers. And today, I feel almost like I'm fixed! For the first time in at least three years, I've been able to walk with a full stride on the right side. Usually, it "hitches" about 1/2 way back, and so I have a jerking walk. I was agog and amazed. I have "homework" exercises to do and will go back again next Monday and Tuesday. If I were rich, I'd go every day for the rest of my life! I AM agog!

Off tomorrow, having early Christmas dinner with a girlfriend. I'm so looking forward. Eating out is such a treat now, and it's something I used to do regularly. This is better.

No news. I FEEL good! SamCat is perfect. Life is good!

Later, lovelies!

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to make at least one healthy choice each day. Today will be adding an extra exercise session. Yesterday, I made a couscous & dried fruit cereal.

Bobolink: Thanks for the welcome! You all seem to have such a good time here together! I love your quilt! I did a totally hand quilted pillow once and learned how much work is involved! Fun but I can't imagine doing anything larger!

Karen 31: Thanks for the warm welcome!

I think that after the first two weeks of struggling with eating so much less and no sweets that my body has finally adjusted. This week I'm not craving junk and the portion size is leaving me satisfied!

I am an avid camper, kayaker, knitter, cook and also love to read.

Hopefully, I'll soon be able to have a ticker to track my weight here.

Just a quick drop in. Its a crazy day here. Dh decided to get the pork meat for our sausage we are making at the camp new years eve. It was on sale. We deboned 60 lbs and ground and froze it. One less step to do. He also bought a beef brisket and pork roast for Christmas day. I made the rest of my meat balls for our finger foods Christmas eve. I also cooked supper. When dh gets back off his deer stand we will go to wal mart to pick up our things we need for the camp this weekend. Im usually stressed at Christmas with so much to prepare but this year I'm ahead of the game. Lol new strategy. So we will see if it's better. Oh I almost forgot I wrapped more gifts today. I think I have 8 left to wrap.

Welcome time2Bfit. I guess you could say I'm an avid camper too we hunt and camp from October to february and fish and camp from march to September.
Welcome meandu. These ladies are awesome.

Bobbi~ I love your quilts. I like the way you did the letters on them. My mil makes quilt tops from scratch and quilts them. They are beautiful. I have a lot of her quilts. They are priceless to me. I think quilting is a dying tradition.

Lynn~ good for you. I'm struggling with snacking.

Donna~ great to hear that you are doing better. I'm sure you are glad to get relief from the pain.

Carol sue~ I had to laugh out loud when you said they're going to have to find your brain first. I have an aunt that would come up with something like that. She passed a year ago this month and I thought of her.

Hello to all goldies!!!
Hugs

KarenFL - consider yourself cyberhugged. I don't think it would be wise to get that close to you right now, in person! You might react with a right punch! I'm thinking good thoughts for you and hope the surgery on the 11th goes smoothly, with RAPID recovery! I hope you're doing a jig by St. Patty's Day, if not before!

Had a lovely dinner with my friend. It was/is so good to spend time with her; we don't get to see each other that often these days.

I dutifully did my exercises this morning (gawd! I am NOT an exerciser! Boo hoo!). However, wheelchair in a couple of years vs. exercising every day... guess I'll have to think about it, but not too hard! I'm supposed to do them several times a day, which isn't practical when I'm at work. I figure morning and evening will be sufficient. Today has been a 1-Advil day, which has to be a new record!

Hope you're all warm or cool, depending. It's blowing something in, I think, and we need wet so much! I'm hoping!

Tomorrow is dinner with GM and sisterBarb. Nothing exciting to report, which you may have noticed!

Welcome to all newbies! Everyone, have a good rest of the evening and tomorrow!

Good Morning...we are finally getting some rain. I told DH last night we were going to turn into the dust bowl of the depression years at the rate we're going. 1/4 of an inch so far, doesn't sound like much.
K3...what to get your DH? At our hubbies age, they have everything they want. If not they go buy it. While shopping last week-end, I found a new shop at our mall. It was all hand made/spun pottery. My DH loves honey so I purchased a honey jar with lid and honey dipper (with grooves/rings on the dipper). It was $32.00, kind of expensive but the pattern was right up his alley. It has pine cones in the design which matches my kitchen. It'll look great on our countertops. Hmmmmmmm, who did I buy this for, Bruce or ME. Oooops!
The last couple of years we've had a grazing table for our Christmas party. It is so low keyed, some things we can make ahead like cheese balls, BQ meat balls, Hors d'eouvre, etc.
One more thing before I go, anyone see Dr. Oz yesterday. Dr. Fuhrman? not sure of the spelling was on with a new diet, it has no white flour, white sugar, etc in it. One gal with migraine headaches was on it and her headaches completely disappears. I'm going to look into this.
Later gators.

Good morning GG's,

Three days down ~ one more to go. It has been crazy stupid busy. Like a whole bunch of full of the moon days.

Are you still having trouble with the headaches Bobbi? Maybe I should look into trying that diet you mention. I try to eat wheat things instead of things with white flower. Sugar is my downfall ~ I think I would feel better overall if I could kick that problem.

Donna had said something about being dehydrated causing headaches. I wish I could drink more water. When at home, it isn't a problem, but at work you are lucky if you can get a chance to go to the bathroom. Would be a problem drink a lot of water and then not be able to get to the bathroom. For a place that is supposed to be about health (hospital) ~ there seems little concern for the health and well being of the staff. Can hardly get to the bathroom, eat a meal in a timely manner or get off on time so that there is time to fix a more healthful supper when you get home. Often times, it is grab a burger you can eat while you drive home because by the time you get home and get the stuff ready for the next day ~ it is time to go to bed already. Then there is the stress........ sigh.

Ok, off to "that place". Hoping for all of us there, that it is a better day today.

Hope you all have a good day.

Take care

Good morning
Nothing much going on but tidying up the house, washing. Trying to think of something for supper. I got a wake up tip from my dh this morning. He said babe looks like your face is plumping up. I wanted to bust his plump head. Lol but on second thought maybe he is right. I've been snitching all kinds of junk. Mil brought me a fruit cake. I love them cakes. I ate almost half of it. I think I will throw it out and tell her I ate it all. That's dishonest I know but I don't want to see the affects of eating it on my face and of course my butt. I'm struggling so hard to get back on tract. That devil is on my shoulder daily telling me to eat it. I listen to him and eat it. I gotta stop. Today is a new day and I'm going to get thru today.

Bobbi~ I'm glad you are getting some rain. We got 3 inches night before last.

Breaks over. Hello everyone

Hugs
